Heads up on Sea Food City store at Irvine going bananas on banana pricing. I am a frequent shopper at Sea Food City and tries out various versions of bananas that I can get hands on, so know one or thing about banana flavors. Recently I had been noticing that at their Irvine store, they are knowingly charging cheaper hawaiian bananas as costly manzano bananas. On few occasions I told them that they are selling misrepresented bananas. Few times the made the correction and charged me correctly saying that someone in error mixed it. I also noticed that they will not tag or place these bananas correctly under the displayed Label for bananas. Theses are not placed in near proximity to Manzano bananas either. So you think you are picking up reasonably priced other bananas. If you dont pay attention at the checkpoint, you will be charged higher price. This cheaper bananas have some look alike to the pricey Manzano bananas. This cheaper bananas fall into the categories of the thai bananas or the hawaiian bananas that should cost around $1.09 and you are being charged for $1.79/lb !!!!. Today when questioned why I was charged at the rate of Manzano bananas( $1.79/lb). Then they charged me for apple bananas at the rate of $1.59/lb. I told them this is not apple banana either as I know what it is and have eaten them on many occasions. So they came up with a price out of the cloud and charged me $1.49/lb. Buyers beware at Sea Food City when you think you are buying the tasteful costly bananas, in fact you are slipping over the cheap banana peels of Sea Food City and you are being taken to cleaners.

This store is AWESOME! If you are Filipino and/or in need of some Asian food and groceries...Seafood City is the place. They have a vast selection of prepared hot foods, a bakery, and a fried chicken restaurant...all of which is inside of Seafood City. And...their name pretty much says it all...Seafood City has a GIGANTIC selection seafood. They have types of fish that I have never seen before...or even heard of. My girlfriend and I purchased a Durian fruit to see what it taste like. I have to admit that I am not a fan of Durian, but I liked the fact that Seafood City sells them....they also have Jackfruit!!!!

I think the Seafood City Supermarket in Irvine is too small compared to the ones in Norwalk and Carson. My favorite is the Norwalk Branch because it is always clean, big (I think this is one of the biggest branch so far) and they have the Grill City. i really enjoy going there. The Irvine branch is too small and not so much varieties to chose from. Carson branch is okay but needs to be more cleaned.

They have all the Filipino ingredients your little heart desires. But if you want regular things (like Parmesan Cheese) youre going to pay a lofty price. $5 for Parmesan Cheese? There are two fast food joints in here that sell pancit and that mass made lumpia that I dont care for.

I really love it! When i brought it to my friends and shared them, they liked it so much! And my friend wants to go to seafood city because she wants to try a holo holo. But its not in the mebnue yet. Its going to be on summer.

The prices are higher than the Vietnamese markets, but the seafood is fresher! Compare the clear bright eyes and gills on the fish there to other asian markets, and you will understand why they charge more!

The place to do your groceries if you like Filipino food. Aside from groceries, theres a diner on the side where one can partake in precooked viands ranging from grilled fish/meat to Asian veggies.

Smaller market, but the prices on a lot of items are reasonable compared to other markets in the area. The seafood counter is a bit on the slow side though. Great that they have a good court.

Friendly workers. I always come here for fresh seafood before going to other Asian markets around the area. They also have a Jolly Bee and food court inside. Fair prices too!

Great that theres a place in Irvine where you can get Filipino food now! Fairly small in size for a supermarket but much cleaner compared to other Seafood City locations!

Not very 3xtensive produce. Good selection of Filipino products. Looks like the Jolibee is closing. Sign in front says "Now open", but I remember being here a year ago.
