My wife and I are huge fans of Whole Foods in general, but we were EXTREMELY disapointed when we walked into the Laguna Beach store. We know Whole Foods can create exciting, clean & spacious shopping (and eating) experiences like that found in the Seattle or Bellevue WA stores. We also admire the way they can to bring their experience to space limited locations such as those in La Jolla or Hillcrest CA. Unfortunately, we were shocked at the awful, degraded, dirty environment we found in the tiny store in Laguna Beach. We were just there yesterday and their olive bar had layers of mold that must have been colonizing for many days. Although they responded quickly when we pointed it out, this was not the only thing we saw. One of the workers in the deli (a shaved headed man) came out and compressed a full trash can with his bare hands, scratched his head with the same hand, returned to the back as he straightened shelf items with the same hand and started to handle food items. Shopping carts are kept outside next to open trash containers and flies are all over the cart handles. (no wipes) Sealed food items were wet & sticky after being placed on the shelf by workers with dirty hands. Hot soup had mixed raw and cooked vegetables (as a result of mixing instead of replacing old soups??), and we found a hair in one that we made them replace. Folks, beware of risky contamination at this dirty store. The employees care once we pointed out problems, but they seem to operate unaware of the risks in the environment. I hope this gets fixed, but we had to leave (with the creeps). We plan to go to the La Jolla store to cleans and renew our Whole Foods disappointment at the Laguna Beach store.

See below for more details... this whole foods is very disappointing and is not like most whole foods i have been to ( and I have been to quite a few!) Everything I bought from Deli was marginal taste wise and freshness wise... I went in at around 7:30 am one morning and felt like I was in the way of the folks who were stocking shelves and produce. Normally I wouldnt think of buying non organic foods but here I feel like I am going to seek out anything but this store... Very poor job whole foods!!!

I love the Whole Foods Market! Its so fun to just be part of the hustle and bustle that is Laguna Beach getting their fresh fruits and veggies for the week. Theres a fine mix of locals and tourists cruising around, and its definitely a great place for people watching. Most of the booths have amazing fruit and vegetables (ohhhh the tomato man!), and the food booths couldnt be better! The prices are a little steep, but what can you say, youre in the heart of Laguna Beach!

Theres only one guy here that knows how to make a sandwich. If there is ever a girl making sandwiches dont even bother. As the case today. Never had this girl make my sandwich, thought I would give it a try... again. Nope. Their club sandwich is supposed to be thin sliced turkey and prosciutto. This is a slab of turkey and ham, not prosciutto. Dry. Hard bread. I dont see the onions that I asked for. How hard is it to follow instructions written on a piece of paper?

Wow, their salad bar is usually old and questionable, but I just found a living, wiggling slug in the take-out salad bar! Total yuck! Careless! Also, the space is way too small and lines are too long and prices are too high. Walk in happy and walk out grumpy and feeling ripped-off. Try adding some walking space for us Whole Foods and see how much better everyone feels! Most of the time, I go out of my way to not shop there.

More like a 7-Eleven than a Whole Foods. They do offer a miniscule amount of fresh meat and a small produce section. There is a salad bar and a very very tiny hot bar. But this place is definitely geared for tourists. Most of the aisles are taken up with junk food but thats what people want when theyre in town for a couple days. Its okay for emergency provisioning but for serious shopping find another store.

Small but friendly Whole Foods. They carry the basics, have a coffee and smoothie bar, pre-made food, small salad bar, wine, supplements and cosmetics selections. They are not as big as some of the other stores so they dont have as many of the ethnic foods that some of the bigger ones have. It has a more neighborhood feel than some of the biggers ones more corporate feel.

Im a fan of Wholefoods, but this one is simply terrible. On several occasions Ive come home with old meat/fish and the last purchase was brown rice tortillas. Sure enough, I open the bag and theres mold! The management of this store needs to do a better job in quality control. For the price they charge, I expect a lot more! What a disappointment.

Honestly once you go to Whole Foods, if you buy a steak and make it at home you will never look at any other steak again. Also the smoothies at Whole Foods are the best and good if your sick you can have beat smoothies and others.

Great market, everything here is always fresh. Only problem is it is a bit over priced. Still, great quality food, vast selection. I enjoy shopping here.

This is a typo in google maps. I tried looking for it today LOL. The correct address should be 283 Broadway, Laguna Beach which puts it on the coast.

A bit small and cramped but great selection of nice beers and wines, with fresh meat and fish as well as made to order salads, pizza and sandwiches.

Cluster af parking and layout. Employees are confused about inventory, things are randomly in stock and the handles fall off the shopping bags.

There selection of salad is extensive. The sales associates are very helpful. The deli also has a variety of things to choose from.

Quick and at tentative staff for the time slot. Smooth in and out when you know what you want.
