Recently I have had probably the worst consumer experience in my life thanks to the Home Depot in Gilroy, California. It was so particularly bad that Ive decided to post my experience in several venues in order to warn people of Home Depot in general and the Gilroy one in Particular. Long story short, I bought a rather expensive new Samsung Refrigerator from them, but it was DOA. Home Depot did not help in any regards to rectify the situation. It would have been entirely easy for them to do an exchange on the unit, rather they opted to kick the can of responsibility down to Samsung because "we didnt buy the extended warranty", even though the fridge CAME TO US DEAD! Samsung itself was also incompetent in getting the situation resolved, but that does not absolve Home Depot for its terrible customer service. In the end I had to call my credit card company to dispute the charge because no one -- Home Depot nor Samsung, was getting the unit fixed or exchanged. After the dispute, Home Depot finally calls us back. Rather than apologizing for anything, they ask us if wed like to exchange this unit with another identical one. Because of Samsungs incompetence I say hell no, I dont want another piece of junk Samsung. They can either provide us with a different Refrigerator, or refund us. At this point the manager HANGS UP on us. WTF?!?! We didnt hear back from Home Depot for a couple of weeks, so it was as if they simply wanted to lose money and their unit. However, I finally get a call from a Home Depot worker on Feb 16 asking when we would like to schedule a pickup of the broken unit. Funny how this is happening right around the deadline for the probation period of the chargeback. I start giving the Home Depot caller a piece of my mind and telling them what horrible service theyre having, when I find out that the person calling me isnt even a manager -- hes the delivery/installation person for Home Depot. Home Depot did not even have the COMMON COURTESY of having a customer service agent call me for this pickup. I tell him to pass on my complaints to his boss, and I schedule a pickup for the coming Friday. We had this unit initially delivered on Dec 15 -- so thats two months without a working fridge, and two months that it took to resolve this issue. In between Ive probably spent 6-8 hours total on the phone with customer service either talking with them, being on hold, or yelling and being frustrated with them. This is by far the worst service from a series of companies that Ive ever experienced in my life -- starting first and foremost with Home Depot, and then Samsung Never in my life again will I ever shop at Home Depot and never will I buy another Samsung product, and I encourage all of you to avoid the Gilroy Home Depot and Samsung as well. Make sure you get the help you want and that they follow through with request or else theyll leave you hanging so they can go on break or whatever they do at home depot that makes them forget about customer request. I asked where I could get assistance to get some wood cut, a female told me "if you get the wood and go to the chainsaw station someone will meet you right there" as someone else was calling to Cristian to go do that. I waited for 15 minutes with no one showing up. I went and asked them again (different person same cash register) whats going on so she calls someone. The person she calls tells me its going to be 10 minutes because hes working on something. I told him Ive waited long enough as I walk out. How Pathetic

I went to Home Depot last week to check out their dishwashers. I just left Sears Hometown store across the street where I got absolutely no help at all. I was greeted and was told where the appliances area was. I found no one who could help me. I asked an employee who passed by and was told he would send someone. I asked a lady nearby who said she will be with me shortly. I waited a little bit and left. This is always my experience at this store. I dont know why I even return.

Picked out a hybrid Ryobi string trimmer for a Christmas gift. Got it home and opened the package to check it out - it was used - even had green stains on the bottom. Returned it to the store, no manager available, the only other box on the floor had been previously opened as well. Would have given zero stars but the return and refund was easy. Very frustrated with having to make two trips for nothing. Unsatisfying.

horrible costumer service with a stuck up attitude bought an screw driver with a warranty a month ago so the tip broke i went back to try to exchange it and they wouldnt take it back because i have no receipt it was a month ago how do they spect me to save a receipt on an item with a warranty for life im a carpenter not a archivist waste of my time

The boys helping us put a very large item in the truck were very friendly and helpful. The lady watching them however, you could read all over her face how unhappy she was, she clearly did not want to be there. I was afraid to ask her a question.

The Gilroy Home Depot constantly delivers quality service with knowledgeable people. Weve never left because they were out of things we needed. We recently replaced our entry door and the e tire job was handled without a hitch!
