I have done business with EC Bike Shop for a long time. I took my Cannondale ( classic no it is not a carbon $3000 bike in for tires) I have had my Trek mountain bike worked on by them. The young kid in there put on a spoke for me and when I put the new tires on the intertube blew and when I came back they immediatly thought I pinched the tube, but that was not the case. I put another tube in it, and it blew. So I took off the tire and found the spoke sticking 1/8th of inch through the protective liner so it was a no brainer. Mike told me to bring in the bike on a Monday. The young kid said can I get you your bike back on Friday? I am putting together bikes. So sales are up and customer service is down. I said no, I am going for a ride tomorrow and they did not give me a tube. When the kid said he did not remember this bike, I should have said, " go look in your database" I told the kid you have lost my business. IF I had crashed because of that spoke, trust me...you would have remembered me. John in Encinitas

They arent freindly, dont know what theyre talking about and overpriced. I called to ask a simple question about them having a seat post I was going to purchase via a bmx mail order website. This me took me three separate calls and two employees to get a straight answer along constant suggestions of bringing my bike in for "an overall service" and so they could "double check our measurements". My advice would be to avoid this place all together and just stick with Google for any questions you have and to support one of the bycicle mail order websites.

Is ECBS still a family-bike-shop ? (as ECBS was quoted to be -- via the original brothers whom I known it from ownership that I can recall. As these shown personnel on Facebook, I never saw in my times.): ECBS looks to be a bike shop, in that the owner having an additional occupation -- as an attorney. Or related a legal source. As there be said, by google of being 2 owners. When I choose business of (those who own/work in) a bikeshop, its ONLY for the industry/business of bike, service, and/or merchandise.

I had my Trek bike for over a decade when the frame cracked. I purchased it at ECBS and, over the years, have found them very reliable and fair. I shopped their website for a replacement and brought my damaged bike in to the shop to have my add-on parts moved to a new bike. The Mgr stated that Trek frames have a lifetime warranty and he determined that Trek would replace the entire bike free-of-charge, taking full responsibility for the frame failure. Thanks to ECBS and Trek for outstanding customer service!

I have been to this bike shop at least 5 times in the last month to get parts or work done on the new bike Im building and these guys are always super friendly and very helpful. They didnt have one part in stock that I needed and they got the part in just a few days and set up my brakes perfectly! I will continue to support this great bike shop. And per Mike below that is completely false. I see the long time bike shop owner Will at the shop every single time I have come in and the guy is super friendly.

I went in to buy a few Electra parts because they had them in stock and i will absolutely never purchase here again. The owner (I can only assume he was the owner because anyone else would have been fired) was the rudest man I have ever encountered. The girl behind the counter was a sweetheart, but nothing offsets that kind of treatment by a customer. I also noticed that his prices were about 10% higher than most places I have been. No Thanks.

I came to El Camino after another local bike shop forgot to order my parts. I picked up my bike from that particular shop and called 5 other shops in North County looking for the correct part. I finally got a hold of El Camino and they confirmed that they had the part in stock and told me to stop by. My bike was fixed up within a few hours after dropping it off. What a great experience.

ECBS goes outside their business. Into MY business -- as I been a steady customer. Asking where I spent MY MONEY. Because I bought my incoming bike, from another. (as if 100% of incoming bikes are to be bought via ECBS only). Becaue I kept my privacy from El Camino Bike Shop. I got kicked out. Whatever. ECBS has too much $$$$; they can afford to lose customers. I DONT CARE.

Volunteer Fire Department

I went in to get a flat tire fixed. The employees were friendly, knowledgeable, and fast. The guy who fixed my bike was more than willing to show me how to fix a flat in the future, and recommend tubing types that may work better or my style of mountain biking if the issue continues. He also gave me a discount on a pair of socks simply because I asked for one. Great shop.

Dependable - reliable - quality - personal: the team at ECBS are very helpful and work with you to get the best solution. I have come to them many times for parts, accessories, advice to keep my familys bikes in great running order. I have never had a problem with any of their parts or service, and recommend them as your local go-to for anything "bike".
