I just moved to downtown San Diego and stopped in the shop on three separate occasions and never once was greeted or spoken to while inside looking at bikes. The third time I was in I was looking for a tire pump since I ended up buying a bike online, needless to say, still no one helped me. I did have questions about which pump was best as I havent had a bike in many years and they have changed a lot since then. I found my answers by looking at Amazon reviews and had I not needed my tires pumped that day I would have bought it on amazon where it was $10 cheaper. Note that they were not busy both of the first two times I was in there, so there was someone available to approach me, and I would have purchased a bike from them if I felt that they cared. Update: in response to the owners response: instead of degrade people who tried to buy from you but didnt because you apparently have so much business you cannot even greet people coming through your doors, you should offer an apology and invite them back in for a better experience. I worked in retail the past six years and know exactly how important customer service is, and how Amazon is killing small businesses. You must adapt and treat every customer through the door as if they were your last, and quit making excuses for poor service. I hate buying online because I like to support local businesses, and especially didnt want to put the bike together. However, as with any business you must earn the customers business, you are not entitled to their business. Unfortunate I see you are full of excuses for every bad review on here, which gets you no where. Maybe you should have a meeting with your staff and make sure they all understand how important every customer as it is YOUR business and, I expect, your livelihood. Unfortunately instead of owning your mistakes and weakness you bashed your clients and made sure they wont come back. Ill take buy all my accessories elsewhere now and let another business do my tuneups.

Took two bikes in for a simple tuneup (new chain, cleaning, lube, etc...). They were there for a week. I had a ride scheduled for Saturday morning, they said they would be ready by Friday afternoon. Yes, two bikes for two people. I called Friday morning and they said theyd be ready by early afternoon. Later that afternoon I still didnt hear anything. I went down there and saw the bikes on the rack, not being worked on, both employees standing around staring at their phones. Walked around the store for a bit looking for new helmet, gloves, whatever... Never came to check on me or ask if I needed help... About 5-10 minutes later I walked over and asked for an update on the bikes (figured they were just taking a break). They said they will be ready the next day. Told them that wouldnt work and theyve had them for a week to work on. Gentleman was visibly upset he had to work at 5:30pm on a Friday, but I told them earlier in the week and even called earlier in the day and told them I needed them. But, he jumped on the work and got it done. In the end they delivered the bikes around 6:15, and all was well. They were cleaned, lubed, everything was as expected. Overall happy with the end services provided, but not happy with the lack of concern for the need to have my bikes back on time. Hopefully next time Ill receive better service.

Owner Mo Karimi shares with me that he still has his scar from when he was five years old. He and his friends dared each other to ride their bikes as far as they could to the drop off of a cliff and the first one to stop was the loser. Of course, Mo was determined to win and has the battle scar to prove it. That is what is so great about the vibe of this bicycle shop, the passion and love for cycling. The relentless drive to get that ultimate ride in. Ryan White, the shop’s head mechanic also chimes in with his love for cycling. His style of riding involves more stunts and tricks with a road bike. Mo’s preference is now mountain biking where he can escape the bustle of the city and enjoy some rough terrain. Nevertheless, every employee can tell you how much they love to cycle. Bring your bike in for repair, tune ups, or any other servicing. Pick up bike accessories and gear. But most of all, leave with that same passion and enthusiasm of riding your first bike because it really is contagious.

I have known these guys for sometime and just recently bought a $600 bike rack from them. I probably have been to every bike shop in San Diego and surrounding areas like La Jolla, Del Mar and so on. Mo & Clifford run a bike shop that is for EVERYONE! To many shops these days are just for the Lance Armstrong wannabe types and forget there are many many other riders; not this shop. I encourage everyone I know to patronize this shop and factually one can catch the Trolley and stop feet from the shop. So you can make it a fun trip downtown and not worry about parking if you jump on the trolley. This is San Diegos premier bike shop and anyone who pedals a bicycle should make this their go to shop. Its the whole package, good equipment, good service and quality people. Go in and just visit I promise you will be back and this will become your go to bike shop. Mahalo

I shopped around all over the city looking for the perfect bike. I must have been obnoxious, asking a thousand questions and test-riding so many bikes. Cliff at San Diego Bike Shop was awesome and so patient, knowledgeable on anything I could throw at him. The shop is small but I was so impressed with the attentive service that I ended up picking out the bike I loved from one of the big bike warehouses but ordering it from San Diego Bike Shop and having them build it for me. Since then, Ive brought in my moms old bike to be overhauled, gone with my friends to get their bikes worked on, and added all sorts of bells and whistles to my bike. Cliff and Ryan, and Mo the owner have been great time and time again. They know me by name, theyre never too busy, and the work they do is fantastic.

I have been going to the bike shop for a while, and ever since I walked in for the first time they havent been anything but helpful. There were a few instances of just being rushed since they were swamped with work, but that is completely understandable. Anytime I had a question, the workers would stop what they were doing and assist me. The owner does like to joke around, as does anyone with a sense of humor. In response to the review before, if you dont like generally good natured workers who will sometimes joke with you, then I guess you should take your business elsewhere... Good prices, good service (sometimes no labor cost for quick items), at least a 4/5 stars.

San Diego Bike Shop has a great staff. When we first opened the dance studio we purchased 2 bicycles from here. One was a used Diamond Back 15 speed and the other was a foldable Baria bike. The store gave us such a good deal on the first bike, we went and got a second one. The staff is very nice and they give you free air anytime you need it. They carry a pretty good selection of bikes, anything from beach cruisers, street bikes, BMX, electric bikes and even scooters. The store also has a selection of seats, pedals, parts and locks for your bike. They also have a very quick turn around time on repairs. Overall a great bicycle shop to do business with.
