Rating the dealership not the service dept. SCAMMERS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! this place was horrible and I know car dealerships are know to be but this place is the worst. My husband found an ad on craigslist for a used VW Passat. We then emailed Hanlees and over a few days / email exchanges we came to agreement on a price. Were in SF so we didnt want to drive 1.5 hrs. with our infant in the car for nothing. Their sales person agreed that the out the door price we ageed to was fair. He even called us a day before and the morning we decided to drive there (knowing we were coming from SF) to warn us that another person had emailed about the car. When we got there we test drove and sat down to pay for it. We agreed to pay cash. When we sat down he brough over an invoice which was $2,500 over the price we ageed to!!!! what the heck. We asked him what was going on an reminded him of the 5+ emails we had exchanged. he then went back in a room where his manager was sitting and came back again with another sales slip. Again almost $2k more than agreed upon. My husband and I both looked at him like "what the heck is going on?" and he said... "dont worry this is just the song and dance we have to go through with my manager". We said we were leaving if he didnt agree to bring us a sales slip with the price we had already ageed to, and reminded him again that we had spoken about that same morning. Then he brought his manager over and proceeded to lie to him saying he hadnt agreed to the price we had stated but simply said "it sounded like a fair deal" WTF he was totally playing us for fools. my husband was too nice to call him out in front of his boss. His manager was a jerk asking my husband "what do you do for a living? you should understand we need to come to a deal which is fair for both sides". He said his sales guy didnt have the authority to set a price and that we should have asked him that when we exchanged emails and calls with him! HA! so we were supposed to make sure the guy who represents his dealership over email was authorized to do so??? INSANE. he said it wasnt worth his while to sell the car on the ageed upon price and said his best deal was still almost $1k more than we ageed and then said... take it or leave it! no apology for wasting our time, for us driving from SF or for his salespersons inappropriate behaviour even after we should him the email where we agreed to a price on our iPhone! what a JERK! this car was a 2003 and $1k these days is a lot of money so we walked away! IF YOU WANT TO BUY A CAR AVOID THIS PLACE!

First of all if I could give no stars I would. The reason I gave 1 star was because Matt Smith was very polite and was eager to help us. We drove from San Jose, Ca. to come see this truck mainly. We test drove it with Matt Smith and my father really liked the truck. When it came time to talking about price we wanted to negotiate a price. We were introduced to Omar Mendias who came to speak to us about the price. We told him we were already financed and we had a budget we wanted to keep. It was not in the sense that we could not afford to go higher. He wanted to try to finance us after we explained everything. He would not listen to what we had to say. At one point he made us a deal and wanted my father to sign. My father was about to sign but i had told him to wait and not sign. The reason behind me stopping him in signing is because Omar was talking down to our family. We are Mexican and he kept switching back and forth in Spanish and English. We speak both languages fluently. Now at some point before the deal he called my father who is a 60 year old man "MIJO" that means son. To us calling someone mijo is what you call a child not a grown adult who could be your father. That was very disrespectful to me and our family. My dad did not want to say anything and held his tongue the whole time during the exchange of words. This man spoke to us in a very condescending tone as if we were ignorant people. I would have put the extra money that my father was going to sign for, but when someone talks to you like that you just have to let go and keep looking. Another thing that really bothered me, they took my dads license to make a copy of it. We had to ask for it twice back because they were playing dumb and they didnt give it to us. When they finally did Omar said the price is what it is, you need to find something you can afford. We could afford to buy the truck, not a problem, we just chose not to in the end because of how rude he was. I work in the real estate business and I know how this negotiation works, but you should never disrespect someone or talk to them as if they are less of a person. In all this experience was very unpleasant. Someone should teach Omar Mendias some manners because he does not seem to have any.

This place does not deserve any stars. I have been to Davis Toyota once and should have learned my lesson then. The first time that I called the service department to make an appointment for a oil change, I was told that I didnt need an appointment for a oil change and just to bring my car in the next day and it should be done within one to one and half hours. Once I got to the dealer the next day for a oil change I was told that it is going to take three hours and that I should have made an appointment. At that point I told the service adviser that helped me I called and was told I didnt need an appointment. At this point I was petty pissed off but still went ahead and made a appointment while I was there for the following day. Now forward to a few months later (few days ago) I used the Davis Toyota website to make an appointment for an oil change for my other car and usually someone from a normal place will call the same day or next day to confirm the appointment and time specially because I made the appointment in the morning of that day and even got a confirmation email. Usually someone from the service department will call you to set the exact date and time. So I waited six days and still no one called so once again I got pissed off and called the service manager but got the voicemail. I did leave a voicemail message demanding to know what was the reason for why nobody called me back to verify my appointment. I never got a call from the manager but did get a call from the service department to make my appointment the same day of my voicemail. So I know the service manager got my message but was not professional enough to return my call and had one of his employees call me and deal with it. I will definitely file a complaint with headquarters because it looks like nobody there knows how run a business.
