I bought my used 2009 Toyota Camry Hybrid from University Honda in November of 2016. The car was listed at $10,500, but I went during the Black Friday weekend so I bought the car for at total of $9000. They promised that the car was in good and safe condition and the oil had been changed. They also put new tires on the car. However, I couldnt get a warranty with University Honda because my car wasnt a Honda and it had over 100,000 miles on it. But because the car was a Toyota, I assumed that it would last me a long time. And since they had promised that it was safe and in good condition and so many people had great experiences with University Honda, I decided to trust them and go for it. Less than a month after I bought my car, my maintenance light came on. I went to my local repair shop because I knew going to the Toyota dealership to fix my car would be really expensive. My oil was filthy. They changed it for me and I went about my day. Less than a week after that, one of my front light went out. I got that fixed as well. I thought that my car would be fine for awhile and I just brushed it off my shoulders. Today, four months after I had purchased my car, I took my car in for the other head light that died and needed to be changed. I got a call from them and there was an extensive list of items that needed to be fixed. To list a few: my back brakes were completely warped, my front breaks were worn to 6mm already (4mm is the recommend time to change the breaks), the struts (my suspension system) were in need of repair, and my cabin air system was filthy. The total estimated cost for the repairs is over $1,000. If I had gone to a Toyota dealership, the cost would be even higher. So before purchasing a used car from University Honda, I recommend bringing a mechanic to look it over because I dont trust theirs.

My grandmother purchased her vehicle from University Honda a couple of years back, and after hearing of the good experience she had, I decided to take a look even though the online reviews were not stellar. Upon arriving, a sales guy came out immediately to assist me. I ended up spending the better half a day there (by my own choosing, not a fault of theirs), looking at cars, going over pricing, and what not, and never once did I feel pressured into anything. I honestly felt like these guys cared more about what I wanted then to make the sale. I ended up finding literally the EXACT car I wanted, and they worked with me to get the price into my budget range. The only problem I had with my experience is not WITH the service department, but does involve them. After purchasing the car, I had an active security system installed. Because of my work schedule, I had to drop the car off the night before, and pick the car up after the service department was closed. It was not communicated from sales to service that I was dropping the car off early, which caused some confusion that had to be sorted out. Then when the car was done, the service department called and I asked them to leave the keys with the sales team so I could pick the car up after service was closed. Again, no communication, and it look a little sorting out to get my keys back. All in all, I had a good experience with the people that worked at University Honda, and if you are looking for a car, I would suggestion checking this place out.

Bad service: no test drives. I went there to test drive trying to have a feeling of the minivan Odyssey and the SUV Pilot. These two cars are on my purchase list that has four other Toyota/Lexus models. It was a weekday and the old black man appears to be the only person there. He told me, in a rude manner, they didnt let customers test drive cars unless customers were ready to buy the car that day. Since I was not ready to buy the car immediately, I wasnt allowed to test drive any car there. Ive never seen such dealer. I went to Lexus, Mercedes-Benz and Toyota, telling them that I just wanted to test drive and was not ready to buy a car yet because I hadnt determined which car I wanted. They all treated me nicely, let me test drive cars and introduced car features patiently. The fact that Honda dealer did not allow me to test drive actually helped me to pick my car: now Honda Odyssey and Pilot are removed from my purchase list.

We came here a couple times to test drive vans with Cleat. He was very friendly and patient with us and our daughter. Above all, he put absolutely no pressure to purchase on us, which was very refreshing and made what is usually a stressful experience very pleasant. When I asked him about how the prices would likely change when the new models came out, he was very honest about it. He did not act like we had to buy right now or we might miss our only chance at huge savings like most other dealerships. We also spoke briefly with Dana who was also very helpful and put zero pressure on us to purchase. We ended up purchasing a Toyota because we liked it better, so I cant say anything for how they are when it comes to actually purchasing. But I still wanted to leave a positive review for this place based on the experience we did have, and I would recommend it to anyone looking to buy a Honda.

Distasteful experience with maintenance and repair. 2009 Odyssey engine light was on. Brought it in to check and was hoping that whatever it is would be under warranty (had Honda Care). Turns out nothing wrong but they saw erosion in the battery cable and recommended to change it. Not covered under warranty since it is a maintenance thing. Im fine with that. They also said all brake pads and front rotors need to be replaced. Knowing that it is not covered under warranty, I said no thanks. They quoted $900 for just he brakes replacement with labor. Brought the van in at Central City Automotive, total was $450 (front rotors replaced and new brake pads) and they said I still had 45% left on my back brake pad so no need to be replaced. I really have a problem with University Honda advising me to service the brakes when I didnt need to. Would not go back again since my Honda Care had expired.

This is the third car purchase Ive had at University Honda. From the moment I pulled into the parking lot - I was treated with great kindness by a friendly team of staff. There was no pressure. In fact, I went in for an oil change. As I talked with Fred Walker - and told him that I might have interest for if there was an affordable deal. Fred went to work seeing what he could do. This is the second car that Fred has helped me buy. He came back soon with good news and we found the perfect car. The man in the financing department (Ben) was also a joy to work with. I wish I knew the names of the others who made the whole experience enjoyable. Im not a marketing expert - but if I was - I would want to point other businesses to University Honda - to learn something about how to treat their customers. I give them the highest marks.
