Hmm, I would say that this place is more of a 3.5. To be fair, I have only tried their red velvet ding dong so I do think this place has potential. I came here with major cravings for chocolate and it sure gave me my quick fix. I do must warn you-- IT IS REALLY SWEET. Their ding dongs also come in regular chocolate and they are $5 a piece, but theyre pretty big in size. I wanna come back to try their macarons ($2 each) and ice cream. They serve Lapperts ice cream!! :) A bonus is that this bakery actually has a happy hour! Sunday- Thursday 5-7 pm Brownies: 2 for $4 Lemon Bars: 2 for $5 Cookies 2 for $1.50 Daily Deals Sunday- Brownie Sundaes $5.50 Monday- 2 Moon pies or $11 Tuesday- 12 Cake truffles for $12 Wednesday- 2 Cupcakes for $5.50 Thursday- Cake and Pie slice for $3.50 Also , I was talking to the worker there and she told me that starting this Saturday they are having tastings every other week. Basically you get a tea and a plate of various bite sized desserts to try for $7. I believe she said it was from 2-7 pm, but I would call or check their facebook for more clarification.

Its saddens me to rate them so low as their cakes, truffles and walnut flavor treats are to die for, ONLY if they are EVER OPEN. I have been here so many times (even today) and without any notice they are closed. Its a hassle I must say. No consistency. Management opens whenever n closes as they must please. Ive complained before to the lady about the same issue which of course she denied it and said "we are always open" LOL .. If thats the case why have I experienced the situation where we drove from DTLA and called before driving, only to see the main door locked and the sign that says "closed". I definitely not giving them any of my business nor my reference. What a loss. Makes me sad like I said but nobody got time for "as I please I open my business" attitude in this century.

Esai was who greeted us from behind the counter and couldnt have been friendlier... We went with one of their popular item... The huge square ding dong!!! Oh Lordy Me... Scrumptitiliumious!!!!!! We sampled the ice cream... Maybe next time but so good also...CK em out and we love to shop family businesses that are not cookie cutter ... All the same... You did NOT let my husband and I down!! This is a fun little dessert shop. Me and my friends came here to have some ice cream after climbing the Baldwin Hills Scenic Overlook! Perfect especially since it was a blistering hot day that day! Shoot, everyday should be an ice cream day!!! The staff member was quite friendly and the ice cream itself was delicious! I had the cherry ice cream which literally hit the spot! Cant wait to go back again!

I love their Ding Dongs and Moon Pies. The cupcakes are a bit too rich for me, but everything is wonderfully decadent. Anything Ive tried here, I found appealing on some level. The only thing I find to be mediocre is the ice cream, otherwise this is an amazing dessert joint.

Have been here several times and never disappointed. The cakes are better than what I had in Beverly Hills and the prices are much better values. A real find.
