Ive visited four times in the past few weeks, just moved to this area. Each time I have encountered poor service, only once did an employee actually lead me to what I was looking for. A few years ago at the depth of the recession I was used to employees wanting to help sell, I guess the recession is over because now they have no interest. Ive tried three times to find a decent looking 5 gal Bouganvillia plant in the garden section, they have the same four dried up specimens. I called Julie the buyer and she assured me there would be some by today, promised to call me. No call back, went today and the same four tired dead plants are there. Asked an employee where the new shipment of Bouganvillia was, she said, over there and pointed. Well guess what, it was jasmine and mandevillea over there. I guess its the wrong time to buy Bouganvillia at HD so Im going to try Lowes, maybe Ill get someone that cares working there. Edited to add: Julie did call me back Friday afternoon, and held some Bougainvillea for me, they finally stocked the 5 gal size. I added one star.

HomeDepot uses a company called TEMCO to delivery their appliances. They are oblivious to how T in TEMCO stands for TERRIBLE. The customer service is incompetent and so is the manager. I am in Costa Mesa, CA and the local TEMCO branch has been to outright rude to me. They messed up my order time, after I confirmed it 3 days in a row. The manager was unapologetic about his rude and incompetent workers. I remained calm for the first couple seconds until the manager began acting like he couldnt hear me and giving me big sighs. This is a horrible way to be treated after a night of preparation to be considerate towards to delivery men. I am not the only person that I can read about online that has had similar quality service from TEMCO. If you speak to someone from HomeDepot, they claim TEMCO is the best....hahah...FAR FROM QUALITY. It is a shame that TEMCO is ruining buisness for their fortune 500 company. Lots of people are starting to avoid the fortune 500 companies they deliver for.

I just had a terrible experience at the pro desk with an Associate named Sophie. Her unprofessionalism was astounding even for the ranks of Home Depot. I buy a lot of stuff from Home Depot and have a gold level pro account number for paint (Im not even a painter). Today I speced out cabinets, purchased 60 gallons of primer and prepared a raw materials order for delivery. I am not some pain in the ass handyman. However this young associate time and time again shows incompetence and outright rude. Even when I tried to be friendly regarding the conversation she retorted with an even ruder comment. I am tempted to write to corporate regarding her lack of professionalism. I do not feel it would be the correct action to give one star as management was professional in handling this matter. Also this is the best home depot for selection. But the prodesk is a joke here.

I went into the store yesterday with a problem, I was putting my kids bunk beds together and got some plastic dowels stuck in the wrong hole (x6). One of them even broke off inside the hole.. I was told to see Dave Walsh is the equipment rental department. Dave went out of his way to help me and was quite friendly. Not only did he have good advice, he actual helped me remove the dowels. He had no obligation to help me and could have just brushed me away, but he didnt. That is what makes him a great employee-solid customer service. He really helped me out and saved me lots of $$$. I went back and bought more supplies just to come back and thank him again. Give this man a raise.

This Home Depot has wandering paid Home Depot solicitors who ask to do construction in your home, yard, etc. Ive been in both the outdoor garden section and the building materials section, where I have been approached. They are from the Home Services branch of the Home Depot and come up begging for business. I politely said, Im here looking for wood -- not looking for a sales pitch. I reported my dissatisfaction to the Service Desk, but they could care less. Im tired of this Home Depot pushing their customers with the hard sell by their wandering salespeople. I now go to Harbor and MacArthur where they just let me shop without receiving a sales pitch.

when there to buy a plywood sheet and some maple board, I get to the cash register where I wait for about 5 minutes because two guys are in front of me. Finally another cashier comes in to help out so the line split, I got to the left line and the guy in front of me checks out so I moved forwards and the cashier leaves and never comes back so in standing there for about 5 or more minutes all the whole time there was employees walking back and fort but none offer to help, they just ignore me. I got tire of just standing there so I put down my boards and walked out, such bad service it was incredible. shop some where else if you want to be treated right.

Lack of help n when a big flooring order was made n paid in full it was almost 2 months n still isnt installed. They use a sub contractor for installation n they are terrible with follow up n doing the job in a timely manner. I decided to do it myself n they said an inspector would have to come out in order for the warranty to be honored. But their inspector cold not get there for another 2 weeks. My furniture has been piled up for 3 weeks. They were scheduled to come yesterday n all they did is call to schedule another time .terrible customer service

I rented a camera and locator here this am. The attendant plugged the camera in and it worked on. Once the locator was attached not so good. I called another plumber wit a camera and found the problem 10 feet from where the equipment read. I called for a refund but they said no because the camera worked OK. Together they did not! So never use them! They rent out faulty equipment!

James from the van rental department gave me and my mother in law 5 star customer service. The guy was professional, knowledgeable and most of all helpful to us with every question we had and info on things we didnt even think to ask. To be frank, Home Depot has themselves a great asset with their company. Keep it up

I filed an online complaint with Home Depot because the Costa Mesa store manager didnt want to honor the in store display price for an item they had for sale. Home Depot replied and said they would look into the issue and issued me a case number.... four months went by, but nothing ever came of it.

Two staffers were knowledgeable and helpful at different times when I had questions about shower heads. Turns out CA regulates water flow & its sometimes cheaper to buy the shower/ bath 3-pack to looking for a shower only 2-pack, so check first if you are super picky. Who knew?

Great store and layout. Pro services could use some work, they messed up the arrival date of my special order. Much like all other HD, this location is perfect. Parking is ample, pro parking is sometimes blocked by materials.
