A local NLR landmark, started many years ago by businessman C. B. Thompson. Fort Thompson is now a trusted institution in the area! Mr. Thompson retired and sold it, but you will still find the gun counter staffed with long term employees who can answer your gun questions without consulting a computer! All the employees are friendly, helpful, "yall come back!" type of people. If, by some reason after looking at all their guns, you still dont see the one you want, they will do a special order of guns, to the store, for you. They will also mount scopes on rifles and sight them in for you. They will mount lasers on pistols... saving yourself alot of hassle and frustration! They also carry casual clothing, as well as hunting gear. Their lines of winter coats for the family are pricy, but quality is awesome! Adult coats will last you for years showing no wear. They always have signs on the front door of who is teaching CCW classes, or license renewals. And on that note, ladies, you will find beautiful, leather, concealed carry purses there too for whatever your style is! There is something here for everyone. So load up the family and come see the good folks at Fort Thompson!

My wife and I are not hunters nor do we know anything about firearms but today we went in feeling super nervous, like we didnt belong there, and left feeling like we just spent time with family. We were in search of a couple handguns for conceal carry and the gentleman that worked with was very professional, patient, and more than knowledgeable about each pistol we wanted to look at. I told him exactly what we were looking for and exactly how much we wanted to spend. He then proceeded to show us each weapon without giving biased opinions on each brand or trying to convince us to consider higher priced models. He answered all of my questions and let us handle each weapon for as long as we wanted. Ive also noticed from shopping around that their prices are much lower than other local stores and online. The only reason Im typing this review is because I was searching for their website and decided that they deserved 5 stars considering how I felt going in the store and how I felt leaving. We will be going back tomorrow to purchase our future pistols and couldnt be more excited.

I have been there on three occasions, on all three occasions my wife and I have been treated with disrespect and down right rudeness. I went there looking for some CCI Stingers, the man behind the counter pointed to a box of 22 shorts and said, "that is what we got" and turned and walked away. By the way it was $15.99 for 40 rounds of 22 shorts. I sent my wife there to get a magazine for a Taurus PT22, they were listed as the dealer on the Taurus web sight. He told my wife in a very loud voice in front of everyone there, "we dont have any" and walked away. The only other time there I guess I did not look like I needed any assistance because they would not even give me the time of day. Therefore I decided to NEVER spend any of my money there and tell everyone I come across to stay away.

Just stopped in and spent 15 mins in the store. NOT ONE PERSON acknowledged I was there. I counted 7 employees in the store. One employee was writing up a sale in handguns. Three were behind the shotgun counter loudly discussing a radio repair. I made eye contact with three different employees and NONE OF THEM acknowledged me. Needed 5 cases of .22 rounds, which they had, but I took my business down the road where I, as a customer, was greeted near the door and helped immediately. $1000.00+ sale... cash. First and last time visitor.... until the "store is closing" sale gets to 75% off, then... still probably not.

All around outstanding knowledge of firearms and specifications. Whatever it is you come here for you can find ranging from hunting and fishing to pro tectonic and loads. You name it they got it or can get whatever you need in a proper manner. The guys and gals at the counter and help desk can answer all your needs from whatever you want to needing this is place to go. Stop by and check with family specials on fishing tackle to firearms and on a budget that is the most important part as well.

We were in town for Trap competition and it was raining bad that day, we were needing boots for our daughter. The shoe area is the only area we went to but the store is clean and nice. The man in the shoe area was super nice and extremely helpful. They didnt not have a size for my daughter and he tried several different types for her, but he told us a couple of other places close to try and gave really good directions to get there.

Shopping around for a new low light scope, decided to give Fort Thompson a look. Not disappointed. Customer service was outstanding. Nathan and team were great. I will say it took a while to get my stuck scope mounts off. They were very thorough! Look forward to getting this 270 out to deer camp with new scope. These guys are an outdoor shop with more experience than others. Go there and check them out.

Ive bought several weapons from them. Ive always had a good experience. Depending on the time and day of the week they can be busy and you may have to wait in line but its been worth it, I try to go when they are not too busy though. I drive 30 miles away just to shop there. Most other gun shops in my area just cant beat their firearm prices.

This is a true store. I love how they are knowledgeable in every field. If you want to just run in and run out with no talk, they can do that too. They have no problems helping understand value and/or quality of everything in their store. It also helps that they are very competitive with pricing, too.

My father and I went to Ft Thompsons to purchase a gun and they were very patient with us. They also had a great selection and the price was better than any other place we shopped. This is the place to go in Central Arkansas where you can talk to people who know what there stuff!
