Im a fifteen year old girl that likes to play golf so I went to Academy Sports to find some golf clothing, only to find that they did not carry a single piece of clothing in womens sizes. Tell me Im wrong, but I feel that is sexist towards women that enjoy the sport. Then, when I went up to customer service to ask if they carried such clothing. The lady at the desk was very rude to me. The whole concept of customer service is to help the customer in any way possible. If that is the way she normally acts, then she shouldnt be working in customer service. We had to them go to a golf store in chenal. They were so nice and helpful to us. If only all stores treated their customers that way. Also if I wanted something from Academy, I had to go online. Plus, if you order something how can you try it on until it gets delivered? Ive gotten most of my gear for soccer, dance, basketball, and hunting from them. But I couldnt get my golf gear from them. Its Academy Sports, so why dont carry for all sport fans or players needs? They were incredibly lucky to have gotten this single star.

I shop regularly at the Academy store in Springfield Mo and love it. This store is an embarrassment to the chain. There were four people milling around the greeters station and not one check out open. When I approached them to get some help I was told just a minute. Five minutes later with three other customers behind me to check out and still no checker, I laid my intended purchased down. I walked passed the four still standing around the greeters station and comment to them it was no way to run a business. They responded it wasnt my business, which is fortunate because they would have all been fired. I went down the highway to Bass Pro. Next time I will not even stop at Academy in Benton.

Customer service was awful. Not one person said hello or asked if they could help me find something.. tried to buy something that I knew would not fit in my car and asked if I could go ahead and pay for it and bring a truck to pick it up that same day and the answer was "that would make us too much like a warehouse and liable for my purchase if we lost it so we are unable to do that." Will more than likely not shop there again in the future.

I bought a sports bra, and when I got home I saw that it had deodorant all over it. When I went to exchange it the lady told me I couldnt because it was on my body. But I hadnt even tried it on. She still argues with me telling me "we dont put stuff like that on the floor" She finally said I could exchange it, and when I we t to get one, I found ANOTHER with deodorant all over it. Lol She tried to tell me I was lying.

Like all the other Academy stores Ive been to. Most sales are laughable. Like a $50 Under Armour shirt marked down to $45 or the sale racks with actually decent prices having only smalls, XXXL, or outrageously ugly color combinations that no sane man would ever buy in the first place, which is why the sale rack has so many of them

I always enjoy coming here. Good prices on good equipment. Just got to be sure to know ahead of time which items are quality and which you need to stay away from. But their prices are generally the lowest for sports equipment. Wish they carried more tall sizes in their athletic wear though.

Second time I have purchased Yamalube two stroke oil this year, at this store. Both times had to wait several minutes for price check. The nice lady at checkout said its been an ongoing problem. Otherwise we love to shop here.
