I had a terrible experience at this store. Tried to buy a gun. Took the back ground check come back delayed. They suggested my wife take the back ground check. She passed then they decided not to sell the gun because she might give it to me. We have been married for 10 years duh. Hello mcfly. So we just left. Four days go by, they call and tell me I passed the check come get my gun. I wait an additional 3 days till the weekend. Go to get my gun. Get there, and they again decide not to sell me a gun. They called me!!! Told me I passed to come get it. I didnt call them!! I guess the manager from the previous experience decided he didnt like the way I look. You see I have tattoos and piercings. I foolishly thought we were passed that in modern times. You see I thought my wife and I both passing the background check should be enough. I even thought since neither of us have a criminal history it would be enough. If all that isnt bad enough I have a son who has graduated the marine corp. and is in school of infantry. I have a daughter that is a senior,with a 4.2 gpa and in line for a full scholarship at a school of her choosing. What kinda of low life do I have to be to qualify to bad a gun at academy sports???

We went in to purchase workout equipment and a punch bag. We asked the same person for help two times. The first time she said she would get us someone. We waited 20 minutes I went back to ask again..she was at customer service and was speaking unpofessionally to a collegue about a customer and another employee. When I asked if someone could come, she responded, "Im working it!" And walked away. We waited 15 more minutes and left the area. We decided to purchase the items we could get on our own, our cashier was not accommodating, he was rude, and did not offer to check on a specific item we requested. The employee from previous walked by us as we were checking out and did not speak to us. We shop Academy stores regularly and have visited them in several areas across various states and have never had such a poor experience. We were greatly disappointed and will not return to this particular store.

I love this place. People are always so nice and helpful. One day I went in to ask if I had left my phone there(was sure I had left it there since its been the last place I had it) the young lady at the cashier was so sweet and polite she went to check the lost and found and didnt see it, she called her manager and asked if they could replay the cameras just in case someone behind me had grabbed my phone. As they were about to run the cameras I decided let me check the parking lot before yall go through the trouble. The police officer on duty (security there I suppose) was kind enough to walk me out to where I had parked previous to losing my phone luckily it was there in the parking lot. Other places or people wouldve simple said no havent seen it after checking the lost and found. So happy with this place and he employees. I dont remember the girls name..

Horrible customer service very rude assistant manager. When an item rang up different from the tag where an entire case of product was stocked I had to go all the way up the chain to get get someone that I thought was not going to be argumentative and rude to me. Unfortunately after getting to the assistant manager I found that there was no one else I could talk to and he was very unapologetic and probably the rudest I talked to. He too raised his voice at me, cut me off while I was talking and refused to aplologize for the mistagged/mistocked item. Very disappointing.

My boyfriend (who is just 16) came to this store and was racially profiled. A white officer came to him and told him "that he looked like he wasnt going to buy anything" and that he needed to leave. My boyfriend left the store cause he didnt want there to be any more trouble than there was. Not sure if this officer is on duty there often. But, he needs to be taken care of because my boyfriend was just minding his business and shopping just like the rest of the people there. What this officer did was absolutely rude and blatantly racist.

I went in to purchase some ammunition for my revolver. I wasnt exactly sure what I needed so I approached the gun counter where two employees were working with their inventory. Neither one of them looked up or acknowledged my presence. So, I went to the shelf and picked up what I thought would fit my gun. I selected wrong and when I went back the next morning, I was told that they couldnt exchange ammunition. Would have been nice if the had a modicum of customer service.

Went in Saturday to price a pelican predictor 103. $799 sign said and associate quoted that price also. Went back w trailer this morning , Monday to buy. Sign says $799 and associate says yes , and that young man wrote down the numbers and said he would be right back. On coming back he said store manager said would not sale except for $850. The associate took the $799 price tag. Very disappointed in service

I bought a new bike, gloves, helmet, bike seat, bell, pretty much anything bike I bought. My bike is great. The service Ive had from on the floor staff has been good, once Ive found someone. The service at the checkout has usually been very friendly and above what I expect. One time I walked in and the door greater person was just miserable! Sorry to have woken you up hun. Ive found it a useful store

HORRENDOUS customer service. I heard good things about their products and selection, and have had decent experience with them in the past. Evidently that has all changed, as I was harassed from the moment I entered the store by their most 1984-ish employees. There is also usually a cop in the store, which is menacing and never a good thing.

Be careful shopping here, they mix clearance and regular proceed items together to make you think its all clearance only to get to the checkout and be surprised. This is an old scam tactic stores used to use I guess they are bringing it back. WAY TO GO ACADEMY!! Sincerely, Former Customer

We love coming to Academy Sports. Everyone is very helpful and friendly. We always find what we need and want. Never disappointed !!! Josh who works in the shoe department was such a big help while we where trying to find back to school shoes for my daughter.

Terrible customer service. I love Academy, but this is one location that I will never revisit. I was blatantly ignored by a cashier while standing by, waiting patiently for her to check out my items. I eventually left without purchasing anything.

Dont bother calling here. These people are lazy and dont want your business. They transfer you around until you get tired of holding. I was on hold nearly 10 minutes, and "transferred to shoes" 6 times. That was just my FIRST call.

Bought a backpack that ripped, and had a month to return it.. took it back on the 30th day and exchanged it, no questions asked. Good service. You have to ask for help if you need it, so 4 stars. Looking lost doesnt work.
