customer service is extremely lacking here at this store. Every time Im in this branch the employees care more about talking to one another about plans after work then helping. Also they have a assistant manager maybe just shift leader named Courtney. she is the worse of them all, the 4 times Ive seen her in the store she is running around degrading and talking down to her co workers as if she is superior to them, definitely does not seem like a team player. Courtney at this branch definitely needs some work on her customer service skills with shoppers. Once I finally got a Gander employee to help me, he had a question for his supervisor Courtney. Courtney came over and was looking at a gun we were talking about. The gander employee went to look down the barrel and Courtney steps in front to block him and looks down it herself, as if the employee helping me was not capable. You should have seen the look on the kids face but of course he cant say much with this being his supervisor treating him this way. Courtney then got very rude with me when I asked her a few questions. I was trying to trade in a gun that she sold me and it was only 30 days old. I understand there is a zero return policy on guns at this store and most. But other stores are good about working with you if you are going to be buying another gun from them (once again here is where Gander customer service sucks). Courtney offered me $150 on a $450 gun I just purchased keep in mind 30 days ago and only shot maybe 30 rounds through. Gun was spotless when bringing it back to the store for possible trade. Courtney continued to tell me there was nothing else she can do for me except give me the bullshit price on a brand new gun. Bottom line Gander Mountain and its employees did nothing to help, what has been a life long loyal customer for more then 15 years is now gone. Regardless Ill be making the trip to Scheels just south in Iowa city than returning to this hot mess of a store which I used to be a big fan of. It appears corporate comments on the reviews people give but good, bad or ugly they just say "we will pass this along to the store leader" which doesnt result in any changes on a local level. Its unfortunate they do not have a better system in place to work through kinks on the local level.

As an avid outdoorsman, I am (what some might describe as) a "tough customer." I must say the cordial and professional employees at Gander Mountain rise to the occasion every time. I must drop the names of Tim, Chad, and Cortney who have all catered to my every need on my numerous visits to the store. I want to single out for special praise: Michael. He has a mind like a steel trap. He remembers my annoyingly specific wants and needs. He readily answers questions and offers suggestions umprompted. Hes an exemplary employee. I cannot say enough about the Grade A staff at this location.

Terrible terrible terrible terrible customer service not even typing this out im talking to my phone to let you know how bad of an experience it was. Waited it over 45 minutes just to look at a gun that I was going to buy, paid for it waited even longer for who knows, then they say the printer isnt working . 30 mins later someone else has it magically working. Took so long I got a refund back in 30secs. Never going back. The tall guy in orange vest was the only helpful one . You guys would have a 0 if possible

Ive always loved Gander Mtn! They have a excellent selection of hunting, fishing and camping gear and apparel! The staff is very friendly and knowledgeable! Today I was just killing time and looking around and had a couple of employees ask if I needed any help or had any questions on any gear or about the moving sale they have going in right now. Great service, products and selection! Gander Mtn is a must for the outdoorsman or woman in your family!!

Absolutely terrible, bought a bow from them. Took it in to get a peep sight added and the draw weight adjusted. Supposedly that take a month to get done. On my way to Scheels where they said it would only take 10 minutes.. I refuse to buy any firearm or bow there ever again, there gun prices are bs compared to the deals you can get online, just buy online and have it shipped to palo outdoors. Youll save 40 bucks by supporting a local company.

This place is slowly going down hill. The staff turnover is horrible, every time I step foot into this place they have added more and more clothing. Is this an outdoor store? Or is this an outdoor clothing store. The fishing section is alright, not as much selection as say even Wal-Mart. The hunting section especially the gun counter is your run of the mill knowledge associates and the prices are almost twice what you can find at local FFLs.

Stopped in for the 40% off sale. The sale prices are not 40% off at all but is not the issue with my review. Most items are not labeled. The customer service was horrible. Teen kids messing around but not helping customers. The counters that normally had staff were empty and help was no where to be found. At the counter the few items were not even discounted. Long waits to check out with only two lines open. Dont waste your time!!!

G.M. add 5-4-14 front cover 9mm 14.99$ a box. Drove 20 mins across town to be there when they opened! I was the first customer in the store. NO 9MM !! Plenty of high velocity at 28$ and 44$. If they are going to run an add, HAVE SOMETHING IN STOCK ! I have been a G.M. customer since they opened this store! Will not make a special trip across town to shop there again!

This Gender Mountain is perhaps one of, if not the poorest operated, poorest led/supervised sporting goods/outdoor/outfitters store you could imagine. Virtually EVERYTHING I need for my guns, hunting & target shooting, "has to be ordered," and, "will take a week to ten days to get in," which in reality frequently ends up being 2-4 weeks.-

Cant beat Gander! Theyll price match anything and have the knowledge and experience to help you with your sporting goods purchase. Doesnt matter if its a rod and reel, hunting gear or guns and ammo, theyll have someone with experience to help you with your purchase. Also a new store being built on Blairsferry thatll be even bigger!

These people take great care of you!! Brad L. back in the guns department treated us very well and was very knowledgeable!! Managers checked out our paper work for buying guns with a fine tooth comb and keep the process rolling very well so there wasnt any mistakes. Ill be a returning customer

Called in to reserve a gun they said was on sale for only 1 more day...surprise! No gun. Ended up buying a more expensive gun but no inventory except for the floor model. He ended up dropping the magazine and so on ....2 hours of bad service and miscommunication.

Im from N.E. Iowa. I love shopping in the store when we get to C.R.. . I always have good service from the personal. I love their lure selection and equipment . They have somethings I couldnt find in bigger stores ! Prices where always excellent !
