I bought a Craftsman lawnmower from Ace last summer. After running for only a few months it died. I took it to Sears where it was picked up and taken to the Craftsman repair facility in Texas. It was returned to me a week later not fixed and with little guidance what to do. I went back to Ace and the manager, Mary, called the repair facility where she spoke to the facility manager. Bottom line was it should not have been returned; it shld have been fixed or replaced. Mary said she wd get to the bottom of the problem and get back to me next day. The next morning the store called and told me to come in and pick up my new mower. They put it together, gassed it and tested it to make sure it ran. I was absolutely floored. I thought I had a long frustrating ordeal ahead of me. Ace just cut through the red tape and paperwork and replaced my mower. The first mower was faulty and had always been extremely hard to start. My new one was a different story. The people at this store are beyond friendly and helpful. I wish they sold everything; I wouldnt shop anywhere else. A great story; I recommend it to everyone!

Any Maint

While I have bought Ace products for my College in the past, I recently tried to bring back minor plumbing parts left over from a home project. All I expected was a store credit to buy more Ace hardware products. First response - "You have to have a receipt for a refund or credit." Well, I had a receipt for some of the stuff (all unopened in original ACE Hardware packaging), but it was older than 30 days. Second response: "No refund or store credit on items older than 30 days" due to a change in policy. My response: Poor return policy equals no further business from me, whether for business or personal projects. All my future construction or maintenance projects will come from other sources.
