Had published a particular book of mine a few short weeks ago surrounding the boundless journey of my Shamanic practices, and of an limitless journey from within, our purpose is to healing, whilst change the world around ourselves. Traveling the state, thus far having 30 different shops now offering our book to the public, our philosophy is the fundamentals of promoting businesses, whilst in return the same is returned. Promoting a consciousness revolution, a movement of awakening. I refuse to bite my tongue and when submitted a copy to this shop and were rejected almost automatically considering their policy of having to be a "Resident" of Tucson Arizona. Living only a half hour away, still this had not sufficed. Never to return here again..their attitudes could use some minor adjustments in addition.

New to Tucson and a retired librarian, I visited this bookstore for the first time last weekend. After purchasing a book I asked to use the bathroom. I was told that I could not because it was the Art Fair weekend and the plumbing was old. True, the book cost only eighteen dollars but books are biggest budget item. Irritated and desperately needing to pee (Im 73), I got my money back and left empty handed. I would prefer supporting independent merchants but this managers rigid policy sent me to Barnes and Noble where I found the book plus several others. How ironic that a small bookstore is more bureaucratic than a corporate one. Had they just shown me the bathroom they would have a new, regular customer and maybe been able to repair their old plumbing.

i really love the selection of neat things that they have. however, the workers are not very friendly or approachable. i cant name one time where ive been greeted as i walk in or even leave. and theres definitely no friendly interaction as im browsing. also, the music is very loud and obnoxiously distracting every time i go in. ill continue going to this bookstore as i stated before,i love what they have but ill see if the customer interaction improves and perhaps update my review. i really hope it does improve because this bookstore has great potential and i feel a consumer should feel comfortable in their local bookstore.

Ive been going there for eight years and always have enjoyed the experience until today sadly. I went in to exchange two books that I received copies of as gifts. The woman who assisted me seemed scattered and unsure of store policy when I asked her to clarify my questions I was snapped at and given a "GEEZ!" . It is a shame to receive such customer service from this store. I have long admired their political directness and open mindedness too bad common courtesy fell by the wayside.

Antigone Books is a real plus in Tucson. They care wonderful practical items that many places do not seem to have. I bought the nicest address book in there this past April. It had designs from the 1920s for each letter of the alphabet. The calendars are more unique than most. The wallets and socks they carry are well made and a little different from the norm. Cards also show a little more novelty. I always have fun browsing and shopping there.

This is my happy place in NY and so I will schlep down to No Lita from Murray Hill whenever I need that calming Zen-full state of mind that only a good bookstore can provide.I just wish it was closer to my apartment so I could come in all the time. But I guess its for the best because otherwise I would have even more books sitting on my floor waiting to be read.

More than an amazing bookstore, Antigone is also a terrific store. Their selection of journals, zip bags, and miscellaneous cool, quality stuff makes a visit here extend way past my wifes allowance for my bookstore visits. I get lost for hours in bookstores and art/gift shops, too. At Antigone, it is a joy.

I love Antigones! I go to this bookstore practically every time I visit Tucson. I like that it is locally owned and they have a lot of variety as far as little knickknacks and interesting things to buy. If you are into women studies or gender studies they have a nice variety of those types of books.

Oh, what a lovely place! Packed with an excellent selection of books, plus amusing extras like bumper stickers and notebooks, it still has plenty of room for its customers to prowl or sit with a book. Its especially welcoming to kids--and to local non-partisan voter registration volunteers.

A surprisingly outstanding selection for fiction, drama, and poetry. (i havent looked closely at the rest.) the prices are pretty low, the atmosphere is serene and thoughtful - this place makes tucson that much better a place to live in.

I ordered a book and drove 30 min to get it and they were closed. The staff was standing right there and still would not help me out. I will cancel the order and not shop there again. Thats sad because must of the staff was so nice.

A selection on par with the best of Berkeley and Cambridge. They sell wonderful gifts, too, including fair trade hemp and repurposed vinyl bags.
