Without a Doubt, the BEST bookstore in Santa Fe. Friendly, spacious, with well known authors (and ooccasional playrights) doing readings, as well as poetry, live music. Somehow includes a real coffee shop with local made cakes, pies, cookies, great coffee, tea and espresso, as well as a lounge with comfy sofas where you can browse... Yes, and they will even order books for you with rapid delivery. With their new second store Dorothy (and her daughter Mary) have created a veritable community mecca for the literati as well as for the casual reader. In all honesty, I have not experienced a positive, socially concerned, community bookseller like this in many, many, years... not since my youth. At this point, my words fail me. You really have to experience the uniqueness that is reflective of the owners of Collected Works... a unique shop that reflects the true goodness and feeling of Old Santa Fe. Mr. Lee

One of those glaring examples of the collective amnesia of the New Age Santa Fe Area. Went in to use the potty, was successful, decided to peruse the offerings.....I am Catholic....I know I know. Horribly intolerant, evil, uncharitable, but yes Catholic and practicing. For the life of me I couldnt find even a legit section of books referring to the religion that settled in the region of Santa Fe hundreds of years prior. But..... you wanna talk about chakras? how about one of the two gazillion hindu gods? maybe even David Icke and his "great lizard conspiracy?" - theres a book for that. Be more inclusive please.

One of my favorite places. I love how late they are open and the events they host. The book selection puzzles me sometimes, as they seem to carry arbitrary books out of some series (in one case, a widely disliked 8th book in a beloved series of 14) but its a great place to discover things you may not have heard of.

Helpful, personable, and informed bookseller. There was a book club meeting when I was there, in the coffee shop section. Clear signs for book sections, clean with attractive displays. Broad selection in this general interest bookstore. Plus Eileen Myles is reading tonight!

Great coffee, these guys are pros. One of the very best coffee spots in town and they really rake coffee seriously. They roast it, they do pour overs, they even weigh the coffee grounds for every shot of espresso that they make. Great collection of books as well btw.

Honestly comfortable and always helpful. Made fun of me and I appreciated it. I miss the old location but for some one who is illiterate I cant complain. Not every bookstore is gonna fly but somebodys gotta try. keep it up.

Very friendly staff, great coffee and plenty of outlets to plug in and work for a bit. Nice bookstore as well. Bathrooms are kinda tricky to find, but just ask a staff member, they seem to get that question a lot.

This is pretty much the only real bookstore left in Santa Fe. Theyve got a reasonable selection of book (also a lot of local books), but their prices are way high. A great place to get coffee and relax, though.
