Old Firehouse Books is one of those places I keep trying to support but can never find what I am looking for. It is located in an old firehouse in the historic Old Town area of Fort Collins and still maintains the characteristics of such on the exterior. For me, a bookstore should be very inspiring and encourage exploration into new topics and subjects. As much as I try, Old Firehouse Books does not do that. The books they focus on tend to be the popular books out and are usually more expensive than other bookstores. The staff are less engaged than other bookstores I have on my visited list and my husband can attest that there are a lot on that list. Their window displays are typically full of one specific book instead of genres and more often than not, it is a book that I did not like. Old Firehouse Books is a neat historical landmark , but not encouraging for veracious readers such as myself.

I really really like the supply at this store, and overall I think they have fair prices. However, I was not impressed by the staff. I brought my books in for trade, only to have my books be pretentiously mocked. They didnt clearly explain the trade-in process for me either. Essentially you get 10% of your trade-in value off of your new book you would like to purchase. Thanks, that takes care of the tax for me.....Can I have my books back please? I would need to buy like a hundred books before my credit is used up. Honestly, I felt like I just donated my books to store that wasnt very nice to me. I left with a sour taste in mouth. I really really like the store, but I dont think I will be returning for awhile.

Great bookstore in a historical Fort Collins firehouse. This location, along with the adjacent tea shop, used to be Fort Collins firehouse. The building itself has historical and architectural significance and is worth visiting for this reason alone. The bookstore has a great selection of popular books as well as one of the best selections you will find on local Fort Collins books. There is also a great selection of kids books that you will find toward the back of the store.

When this book store was the Book Rack on South College they had a great exchange program for used books. They now seem to be specializing in new books and are very picky about taking used books. I recently tried to exchange several books that I had purchased from the Old Firehouse and they claimed they were overstocked. I checked the shelves and they were filled with new high priced books. No used books. I guess Ill find a real used book store.

Hey, Fort Collins folks, we have a gem in our city: a vibrant local book store! I cant say enough good about this place. Ill only focus on the people who run the store. Their passion for the written word, their desire to foster a community, and their efforts to support local authors make this a magical place. Come. Browse. Purchase. Read. Repeat. Rinsing not necessary.

Really nice local bookshop was a little hard to find myself around and the employees seemed a little more busy talking between them at the counter so I cant comment much on the customer service but they had a big variety of books in a very nice local that seems like it used to be a old fire station if Im not mistaken.

The name is Old Firehouse Books and it is a Bookstore that has primarily new books which are normally priced. The store has a good selection and a handy web page from which I frequently and conveniently order books. They bring in authors for book signings and sponsor activities for book clubs and young readers.

Best bookstore in town in my opinion. They have a healthy mix of new and used books, will special order anything you need that they dont have and I love their rewards program! Not like other new and used bookstores that have an overwhelming romance and sci-fi section. They also have a great comedy section!

Excellent selection-- if they dont have a book theyll order it for you (with no extra mark-up, which is a nice touch.) Best-sellers are hard to find used, but theyve got a good number of used nonfiction and literature books. Good atmosphere and helpful staff. Also, its next to a tea-shop, which is awesome.

A lovely, quaint bookstore! It sells both new and used. Though it appears small at first, it extends VERY far back! It has an excellent kids section with so many options for all ages. My children and I love this place! Its also connected to the tea house next door, Lucky Joes, which is also a neat place.

This is one of the CUTEST and most amazing places I have ever been! It is conveniently placed next to a tea place and has so many books you dont know which ones to pick first because all of them are amazing. Now those who hate that they dont buy-back books should just not go there. I love it there :)

The Firehouse bookstore is inside a old firehouse. Its a cool little bookstore, with any books you might like. I tend to be a Sci Fi fan, and they have plenty of books and even some signed books. If you are into tea, they are adjoined to a tea shop as well.

Very cute place with helpful nice employees. Not a great selection though, I never can find what I want and mostly its new overpriced books. I have found a few gems though. Some cheap used mystery books. I want to like this place more but I just dont.

I found the staff to be friendly and extremely helpful. They went out of their way to assist me in picking out the perfect Christmas present-- something I never would have found on my own. The prices are reasonable and the selection is outstanding.

This local shop is wonderful - great events to get the community involved in reading! The staff is friendly and welcoming and will order any title without shipping charges. I prefer shopping here than going online to purchase books.

Great Local Book Shop. I try and buy most of my books here. Excellent selection for the relatively small space, knowledgeable friendly staff, clean, organized. Next to the tea shop for a great reading spot.

Always shop local first and if they dont have it they do what they can to get it for you. Theyve even referred me to another store once because my kid couldnt wait for delivery (school project and all)

I am also surprised by the harsh reviews found here. I have been shopping here for years and have always had great experiences. The book trading policy is reasonable if slightly confusing at first.

Old town has an actual book store? WHAT! This place is great. I love keeping my business local and it helps that they have a great selection.

More a new-bookstore than a used-bookstore, but its a little bit of both. A bit artsy, but well-kept and with a friendly staff.
