I had a tenant trash my rental home and part of that required new hollow core doors to replace the ones they left me with holes in them. The options for new doors was basically Home Depot/Lowes or a higher end custom door shop. My wife and my contractor both found/recommended the Door and Trim store, checking prices it was cheaper and the only exception was that I had to bring in the doors to measure to ensure they were accurate. Great, I thought, they would get me exactly the right door size and hinge placement instead of the standard sizes elsewhere. I arrived with my 6 doors to have them measured, unloaded and the girl from the front office as well as the gentleman from will call measured them. We then headed to the front office to write up the order and the quoted prices for the doors was higher than expected, was quoted $30 per door plus hinge/cut fee which totaled $50/door but quote was $45/door. Thats the start of the issues... So I went to leave and they said I owed $2 per door "disposal fee", really $12 to throw away doors in the dumpster feet away. Once the front office person left I was told by another person that they would just throw them over in the dumpster in the parking lot, without direction that I should do that but kind of a wink-wink, nod-nod. So I called in 5-days and went to picked up my perfectly cut doors to make for a quick and easy install. First they couldnt find my order, then they couldnt find my doors. They had to go to 2 different areas to find them after looking for a while. So I got them loaded up and headed home to install the first door and then more issues with quality workmanship came up. Of the 6 doors, none fit well. Some had uneven reveals (not the case on the old doors) only to find that the routing of the mortise for hinges were uneven, the depth wasnt consistent, these doors required a chisel to make them right. Others were more severe and required sanding of the edges where the door wasnt straight on 1 edge, measuring, it wasnt square but not off by much. Another door required chiseling of the mortise on the latch to be the correct depth. Finally the last and worst door required re-cutting hinges moving them up so the door was even with the other door (double door for office), then sawing the door at the top 1/8 and 3/8 on the bottom. Of my 6 doors heres the tally: 2 doors required chisel to fit hinges properly 1 door required sanding on 2 sides (could have cut 1/16 or 1/8 but didnt have table saw with me) 1 door wasnt square and required sanding/cutting on only 1 side 1 door required sanding cutting on 2 sides, hinge work, latch work. 1 door required cutting top + bottom, hinges moved 1/4" and chiseled for depth. So much for my perfectly measured and cut doors. I couldnt believe I was having these issues so I called, bring the doors back, thats the response. They are installed and I dont have days to wait for replacement doors. I checked reviews and the reason this place looked good was the bad reviews have been filter here, check the filtered reviews to see the same issue, its not just me having this problem with this company. Pro: If I had to pick something, the front office staff and will call guy seemed nice. Cons: - Cant measure custom doors - Cant cut straight, square doors - Cuts on hinges were inconsistent on all 6 doors - Instead of partial refund or coming out to look at the issue, the only option is to bring doors back. Yeah let me take them all down and haul them in, really thats the solution? Bottom line: Find someone else to do your doors. Dont say I didnt warn you!

Like several other reviewers, I ordered a French door from this shop only to find that it was not made to the correct measurements. In our case, we had to have a third party deliver the door all the way to prescott for $250. I called Corey at door and trim and told him about the doors being the incorrect size. His reply, over and over, was that the production guys "felt they had made it right.". They hadnt, no matter how they "felt". Door and Trim would not offer a credit, a replacement, or any other concessions for their error. Corey even said he would get back to me by the end of the day, and never even bothered. My wife and I have purchased thousands of dollars in merchandise from this store over many years, but to door and trim, we were not worth the effort to keep as customers. We wont spend another dime there. In all fairness, I will say that we never had a problem before this. That being said, we never tried ordering a custom door from them before either. I should have read the reviews first, because it seems like they do everything well except make doors to spec. Update: I was contacted by the owner, who was not previously aware of the issue with our door. He was very nice, very professional, and completely understanding of the situation. He did give us a credit on the door, and I believe that if he had known what was going good on at the time of the problem, it wouldnt have been a problem at all. I have to say, my faith in this shop is restored.

Im a long time customer despite the poor service by most employees... I really only go when I need to... I Called 9 times in 2 days to try and get an update on an order, I got one answer, there lack of service caused me to not be able to pickup my molding on Saturday and I lost this whole weekend which is costing me money every day... The employees dodge phone calls like the plague... When they do answer they usually sound annoyed and will give you any random info it seems like to rush you off the phone... I recommend if u need to go in, you look up hours online and go into the store in person, the warehouse guys all seem awesome and theres one younger guy in the office that has been helpful.. Find that guy..

If it were not for Jeannie, the receptionist, I would have no redeeming words for this company. She was absolutely terrific and acted very professionally. The rest of the crew needs to work on their people skills. We refused to allow them to do work in our house because of attitudes. They wanted to start work at 6:30 in the morning and got pissed off when I refuse to allow them in the house at that hour. We have a family! They can start at 8:00 like everybody else.

I stumbled across The Door and Trim Store, and glad I did. Ive found trim I needed to match for one job, glass door inserts for another and doors made/repaired for other projects. All better priced than Lowes or Depot. I always get great customer service from the staff, in store or on the phone. Jeanie is a pleasure to work with and goes above to get what you need. These people need to advertise more because they are great. Down to earth, give you their best price up front, no need to wheel and deal. They have the baseboards I needed. They get better doors and cheaper than Home Depot - and faster too! They have great door hardware that I got at a much better price than Home Depot too. If I need trim, doors, or hardware, I will always go to these guys.
