The gun counter is great and has knowledgeable and experienced associates. The front of the store has some of the worst employees Ive ever seen. They stand around, chit chat with each other, and ignore the lines of customers waiting to check out. It is obvious that customers only get in the way of standing around doing nothing. I have purchased several firearms, lots of ammunition, and a large amount of fishing tackle from this store. However, all of my future purchases will be from online retailers who appreciate my business. Employees like the ones in this store are why retail stores are dying.

They recently redid the store layout and it works well. Great selection and pretty decent prices. Nice selection of ALABAMA (YEAH !) and Auburn (BOO !) game day gear. Also have a pretty good golf section, great selection of Nike and Under Armour stuff, and good sale prices. I have shopped here regularly for last 8 years with no issues. May have better selection than Dicks depending what you want.

Bad customer service the manager was very rude just like the assistance and the people he got working under him I dont understand the ignorance that people put up with when they hire people nowadays will be calling the store manager Monday morning to assess the problem will not spend any more money with their location or with them.

Pitiful. No cashiers open on Sunday afternoon. One guy at customer service counter with 4 other workers standing around chit chatting. The old Academy would open a register if more than 2 people were in line. Now they just look at you with a smirk on their face.

I arrived just after opening to purchase a pair of Costas and not one employee acknowledged me (3 just walked right past) so I left after 20 minutes of standing in front of the sunglasses cabinet. Terrible customer service. I went to Dicks instead.

Very nice and clean Academy store. Easy access to major highway and in a very nice shopping center. This one is not near my home but I would gladly visit again when we pass that way.

They are not clear with their prices. I had an experience where a shirt was a certain price but they decided it wasnt on sale anymore. They did not honor their mistake.
