When I lived in San Francisco I first bought my coffee beans in a shop on Haight St. (1974), then at Peets in the Marina. When I moved to Petaluma (1986) I would still stop at Peets on the way to work. In 1989 Petaluma Coffee opened and have not gone any where else since. It is a pleasure to go into Shirelys shop and see the roasting machine sitting in the middle of the floor turning the green coffee beans into the right roast. My favorite in the Fair Trade Sumatra Dark Roast, but there is a large selection of coffees from around the world from which to choose. There also is an area dedicated to tea. Since opening, Starbucks and Peets have opened outlets for their coffee in Petaluma, but I think the freshest and best tasting coffee is from the Petaluma Coffee. TRY IT!

Pretty nice place for a shot. I stick to espresso, they pulled a ristretto style (which I prefer), the body was quite full in the mouth, a little initial bitterness but a very spicy blend. I didnt love it but that doesnt mean it wasnt good, just not my taste at the moment for espresso. I believe it would serve very well in a latte or cappuccino. Definitely stop here for some brew.

Every time Ive come in here, Ive been greeted with a smile and speedy service. These people are truly masters of coffee, and they work really hard to find the perfect blend for you. Also their $1 cup of coffee has helped me through many a rough morning! Ashley and Nick are probably my favorite people in Petaluma, so I cant recommend this place enough!

Massive variety of fresh roasted coffee from all over the world, good selection of teas as well as coffee and tea accessories. Theyll even sell you green coffee beans if you like roasting them yourself. Last time i was here there was a man playing the piano beautifully and they were roasting coffee, the whole place smelled amazing.

Ive been getting my coffee and tea for years at Petaluma Coffee & Tea. Whole bean, or brewed on site, always fresh, tasty, and served by friendly and knowledgeable staff. A comfortable atmosphere, a variety of coffee beans and teas to choose from. Good selection of brewing products and gift items.

Ive been coming here for about 2 years and I cant think of a better way to start the day. The staff is very friendly and knowledgeable, the variety of coffee and tea is vast, and the atmosphere is very cozy. Hands down the best coffee shop in town.

This is a great local coffee shop. Great selection of teas and they roast their own coffee in an antique roaster that acts as the centerpiece in the shop. Laid back atmosphere and friendly, bohemian staff.
