Ace Hardwood a.k.a Union Lumber Company is more expensive but if one factors in driving across traffic on the Colusa Highway to Home Depot only to get lost in their behemoth store without any good customer service. Only guys with jackets on that never know anything and have to find you somebody else. Factor in the cost of three dollar per gallon gasoline and the value of your own time unless it is worth nothing then what and who is more expensive? Where else can you get the greatest donuts from Sun Donuts on 12th Street between Yuba & Ramirez Streets for free at the Union Lumber Company, Ace Hardware Store on weekends located on B Street in the historic gold rush city of Marysville.

Just because a company buys local does not mean I can or want to pay more money for the same stuff I can buy at HD or Lowes. So sorry for whatever the reason is, but I can afford what I can afford and in this economy I choose the cheaper store, local or not. Same goes for any Marysville store.

Good place to find replacement parts for older properties. While this place can be a bit more expensive than Home Depot, its convenient to have in the area. The store is always clean, and well organized. The employees are nice and friendly as well.
