I walked into this store, halfway in I was confronted by the security guard he was joined by the manager shortly after. The officer stated I had to leave my bag at the counter. I hesitated because i had a $2000.00 Mac book pro inside as well as a ipad pro, Beats Solo3 and a Samsung Note 5 and 7 (all used for work). i told the officer that I would comply before I could question the safety of my equipment the manager started yelling and told the officer "you deal with him cause I cant". I told the officer I would comply but the attitude and Unprofessionalism of the manager was unacceptable. i took my bag to the front and left it. later about 5 min later i returned to the checkout with my items. while in line i noticed the manager open a second check out and called others over to her line skipping me. when i stated that to another customer in the store the manager once again started yelling at me and threaten to refuse service to me if i did not stop talking. The security guard then came over to me and stood about 6 inches from me during the remaining time i was in the checkout. I will submit a formal complaint with the corp office ASAP. side note. I enjoy family dollar because of the prices. In my neck of the woods we dont have family dollar stores which I do not understand and the stores we do have do not require me to leave my bag at the front counter. heres the thing while at this store I observed several women with large purses/handbags, none of them were required to leave them at the front counter.

I was very disappointed this evening as the store advertises that it is open until 8pm. I arrived at 7:57pm to pick up dog food as I had none left in the house and just got off of work. The employees communicated through the front door by yelling through the glass telling me they were closed and refused to let me in. This was extremely off putting as I depend greatly on this business for my convenient and speedy needs. They told me to go to another location as it was "a bad neighborhood". I told them I live around the corner and do not have a car and that if its too bad of a neighborhood to open the door, why would they suggest I WALK to another location? I will be calling corporate as well as speaking to the store manager tomorrow as I am extremely disappointed and upset with how they handled this matter. I have been a loyal customer since early 2015 and will now be switching over to the local Kilbourn market as often as I can. I have never been treated with such disrespect. They also said the registers were down when they were not in fact down. I heard them use that excuse when another customer asked to come inside and I just checked out. So very very disappointed.

Worst place ever. An hour before close time they refuse to allow me in to buy anything because the lazy cashier didnt want to do any recounts.Ghetto. And the same black woman cashier working the night before sat there unprofessional and making fun of the Caucasians in the store saying they didnt belong there, and not welcome. Is that any way to treat paying customers. I happen to live rather close and I belong anywhere I choose to spend my money. The only only good thing is the male employees there always act polite and ask if I need help finding anything. But the girls ( too immature to call women) are so rude to anyone other then their race. They deny sales, and mock their customers. I will not be spending my money their anymore and its well known how poorly the store is being run by these workers. I feel bad for the guys working there that have to do all the work because these girls cant dont do their job. The men deserve a raise and the girls should be fired.

While the employees are friendly and the store isnt dirty, the lines are always long and there is rarely a second cashier. It seems to me as though the mostly white management doesnt care to provide good service or work environment to the mostly black customers and employees. Ive personally asked two (white) managers, that were sitting in the open office talking and laughing, to help the 15+ customers that were in line with a single cashier. What does this say about your business?

It was OK @ first, but I see how the employee greet some of there customers. Curding,loud, bad crammer, customers come 2nd or 3rd .. Help is not really there when needed or ask for it... I would fire the entire store, get a new crew, more whites & Hispanics ... @ least store would be more organized an cleaner .. My opinion

Worst store ever ghetto and unprofessional its always only one line open and lines are always super long. The cashier was a black girl talking on her cellphone while ringing me up and never did she get off her cellphone to greet me she was very rude I wouldnt go here if I was you

I went during the morning when they were opening. The employees were super nice and everyone was helpful. This family dollar seemed bigger then most. I dont know how the second shift employees are but I will most likely only go in the morning.

This place is huge. The biggest Family $ around my area. The only thing I didnt like was that someone was constantly following us around. Made me and granddaughter feel very uncomfortable.
