This shop came highly recommended to me by friends so I thought I would try it out. I normally go to another tattoo shop in town -- and turns out I should have never gone elsewhere. As a customer at Cap City, I felt like I was treated like an inconvenience. For a place that has a good reputation, I was appalled by the attitude. My artist didnt give a crap about me or my tattoo and acted put off that he had to give me a tattoo. He was visibly annoyed when I asked for some minor changes to the preliminary sketch and placement. I felt like I kept having to apologize for my requests, which is ridiculous!! I almost walked out at a couple of points and I should have. Ultimately, I didnt get the detail I wanted and the job wasnt as good as it could have been. I will never go back there again nor would I recommend this place.

My fiancée & I wanted to get a tattoo on whim last night, We called and they got us in right away. When we first walked in we were greeted by Brian with the most respect weve ever received walking into a tattoo shop. Our artist Cory, Was one of the most down to earth people weve ever talked to. The atmosphere in Capitol City Tattoo is like no other. I actually felt like we were valued as customers, I would highly recommend Capitol City Tattoo to anybody who wants a tattoo. WE WILL BE RETURNING FOR SURE!! Thank you guys for the amazing experience.

I called twice in hopes of setting up an appointment, after not hearing from them I showed up and even though the shop had a free hour between appointments (I only wanted something small - 15 minutes max) they wouldnt sit me down. After saying hed call me regardless of his appointment later that night and set something up with me, I still never head from him. Very disappointed.

I had my tattoo done by Cory at Capital City. I would recommend him, as well as the shop to anyone looking for a tattoo. Ive had the tattoo for over a year and the color has yet to even threaten any fading, and I get compliments almost daily on the detail. The people there are polite and helpful in making decisions, I wouldnt think of going anywhere else for a tat.

Capitol City Tattoo is Awesome! I have 4 tattoos and they are all done by artists from Cap City, 3 by Steve-O and 1 by Brian. This is the only place I will ever go for tattoos in Madison. Everyone there is very nice and Super Talented. If you are looking for amazing work that will look good for a life time then this is the place to go for your tattoos.

The shop is super chill, the artists are fun and very talented, perfect place for first timers! Walked in and Cory looked over my design, planned out the placement, and he went to work--the tat is absolutely SICK! I get complements all the time on it. Very thorough on post-care for firsttimers. Theyve got another loyal customer for life :)

Favorite local shop! Everyone is so friendly and helpful, their atmosphere is perfect. Ive gotten two large multiple sitting pieces from Ree, and theyre both incredibly gorgeous. I get so many compliments on her work. Strongly recommend checking out all of these badass artists! If you want a truly stunning tattoo, theyll make it happen.

My friend wanted to get a fast tattoo(walk-in) we called EVERYWHERE most places were either closed or by appointment only- mind this was in a Sunday- she called and they were happy to do a quick tattoo on her. The Artist was amazing, he was friendly and great to make conversations with. I would legit come back here.

Capitol City Tattoo was recommended to me by a couple friends and Im glad they did. Got my first tattoo yesterday and they were great about the whole process. Theyre very professional and friendly. The studio is clean and they use sanitary procedures. Would go here again if I decide to get another tattoo.

Awesome place. The tattoo itself is more often the biggest part of getting a tattoo until you go to Brian at Capitol city.. you wont understand the "experience" of getting a tattoo until you have been here. Experienced, talented, professional. Would highly and have recommended to my friends.

I was in over a year ago and Cory did a great job. The detail work is great. I get tons of compliments on that tatoo. After he finished my tattoo I asked if he could touch up one I had done by an other place and he took the time to that for me as well.

Gary has done two tats on me within the past couple months. Neither tat needed a touch up and were all black. He is professional and courteous. I would recommend them over the shop down the street any day.
