My boyfriend and I ordered a reclining sofa from A-1 furniture the week before Christmas. We hadnt shopped around any place else but we loved a couch they had at A-1 so we decided to just go for it and order it that day....BIG MISTAKE. We had to order it in a different color so it then became a custom order. We were told it would be 6-8 weeks until we received the couch. Today marked 9 weeks since we ordered the couch we have never received a phone call or anything regarding the couch. It was already paid off in full almost a month ago so last week we finally called them to see if maybe they had forgotten about us. We were told it might be on the delivery truck today so again we called today, even after we were told someone would call us but of course that did not happen. Now we were told we wont have it until the week after March 3rd. That is 4 weeks after the time we were told!! With no call or attempt to reach us about this HUGE delay. In fact she didnt even sound sure we would have it by then. She said "you should get it then". All that was said was oh sorry it was beyond our control. What wasnt beyond your control is the terrible, uncaring customer service we have recieved. We were planning to have this new couch by the time my family from states away comes to visit but no that will not be happening apparently. It is too late for us to go back in time and never order from them in the first place, but its not too late for you. So if you are even thinking or spending any money at A-1 just save yourself the headache and time and go somewhere else.

I came into A1 looking for a mattress. As other reviewers note, sales staff made themselves available to answer questions but didnt shadow me as I browsed. I made my selection and had the mattress delivered to my house. I realized after just a few weeks that the mattress wasnt supportive enough for my back. In phone conversations with A1 staff about rectifying the situation, I was asked if I thought it might be a warranty issue and could I take some photos of what seemed to be the problem areas? My photos didnt illustrate any irregularities, and I honestly confessed this to the store manager, worrying that Id just chosen poorly (my fault). He asked me to come in to the store so that we could select a more comfortable mattress. I chose a firmer one, and waited to hear how much extra this was going to cost me. The manager proposed, if I were ok with it, hed charge me only the difference in price between the two mattresses and the delivery fee to swap out the "old" mattress for its replacement. If, upon inspection, A1 staff found a warranty defect, that shipping charge would be credited to my bill. I was delighted! My mattress could be donated to charity, and would certainly never be re-sold, unlike some less reputable stores that offer no questions refunds and then sell a used mattress as Brand New to an unsuspecting buyer. A1 is a small business and, in my experience, an honest one. I felt very comfortable with their solution to the problem, both ethically and financially. I would recommend A1 to anyone.

My husband and I came in and purchased a new King mattress & Box Spring about 5 months ago, and also ordered a custom made King bed frame, head and foot board as well. The Delivery crew did a great job setting up the bed and were on time! The bed we ordered is absolutely beautiful, and was the exact color of our existing bedroom furniture! The sales person we worked with was Ron Miller. He was very knowledgeable and friendly, and we are very satisfied with the way A1 conducts business. I recently also purchased a beautiful Pub Table & chairs at one of the sales events A1 had. The table looks awesome in our dining area, and I was happy with the quality. There are no high pressure sales in this store which is what we liked!! Everyone was courteous and answered all of our questions and concerns. We were looking for a glider recliner for our infants sons room. We looked around online first at about a dozen local furniture shops - the big stores youd expect. A1 had the largest variety of options online so we took a trip over to the East Side store. Most cheaper recliners were picked over because of the student move-in, but Jim Ness helped to find the right fit. We really liked the Palliser model 43212-34. We went for a custom order with Royal Blue fabric (Bela) instead of leather. Its a more expensive piece but the quality is high and very comfortable. It also has a nice modern look that is more narrow than the traditional "marshmallow" type rocker/recliners you see in Grandpas house. Jim brought out the books so we could compare option and customize. He wrote it all down so we could comparison shop a bit more. We found nice stuff a competitors stores as well, but for over twice the price. Quality, that is affordable wins day. Thanks Jim & A1!

A-1 was the third furniture store I visited. I should have come here first! I was very impressed with the prices, the brand name furniture and the staff. When I entered the store, I was greeted by Penny. She asked me what I was looking for and then showed me the furniture that fit my criteria. After showing me around and answering my questions, she left me to look things over again on my own. I really appreciated that she gave me that time rather than hovering and making me feel rushed. The prices were great, and because I bought several items as a set, the price was discounted even further. The delivery price was lower than I was expecting and the protection plan was very reasonable as well. The sofa I wanted was out of stock, but even so, everything was able to be delivered by the end of the week. The delivery crew was great too. They were very efficient and careful and treated my furniture with care.

We were looking for the Bedroom set and Great Room set and did lot of analysis online and also went at couple of stores. Finally we decided lets visit the A1 furniture at West side. We did visited there and right in next 10-15 minutes in the store, we were able to make a decision on what we really need. John at west side was very helpful and he also highlighted us to visit at East side A1 if you need more options to explore. We did took his advice and went to east A1 Furniture. Randy at east side was helping us. We did got the right bedroom set and the great room set at a great price. Also the good thing to highlight here is the members at A1 are ready to help the customer, listen to their needs. We really like the kind of service received. Thanks to John and Randy for taking care of our needs. I would also prefer others to visit A1-furniture.

Heres my super quick story about A1. In 2008 I came into this store a broke, post-college student needing a couch. I bought (I think literally) their cheapest couch because that was my budget. Nobody judged me, I didnt get less than service because of my budget. Try going to some other furniture places and the second they know youre looking for bargain furniture they disappear. A1 treated a kid who knew nothing about anything with no money the same as someone filling a home with new furniture. Fast forward to 2015 and Im a grown adult with a decent budget now. I made a point to return because I remember the way I was valued and treated back then. Whoever was a class act to me in 2008 earned my repeat business in 2015 and beyond. My most recent experience was no different. Helpful staff, not pushy or greedy. Will return over and over!
