My first time in the store was in October 2016 and it smelled so bad I couldnt stay in there--the ammonia smell was horrible. The second time was recently to purchase fish and plants. The employees were very nice but I was disappointed to see a number of tanks with so many dead fish. I stupidly decided to buy some fish anyway (that was MY mistake) but within a few days over half of them were dead. I am treating the rest of them for internal parasites and infection as all of the fish had sunken bellies. A few of the fish were definitely mishandled during netting as they were dying before they were even put into my quarantine tank. The staff did right by me in putting money back on my card, but the manager questioned my fish-keeping skills. (Yes, you can put 12 tiny fish in a 10 gallon tank with a well-seeded filter rated for 40 gallons). I also understand that she questioned me because I am sure they sell to lots of beginners who dont know what they are doing. However, I am an advanced freshwater aquarist with multiple planted tanks with healthy fish. I have raised corydoras and shrimp. I sell plants and shrimp quite often. From the state of their tanks and this experience, I cant say I will buy fish from them again, but will give them another chance with other pet products.

I called and got a price quote for a haircut for my Schnauzers. They asked if I wanted the typical cut. I said yes. They gave me the price and agreed to it and made the apointment. Keep in mind that they are mini Schnauzers at $41 per haircut. I believe at that time... So when I picked them up, at first glance, they looked good. The manager was on her way out and saw my dogs. She said they looked great. She then told the woman checking me out to charge me more for the one mini Schnauzer because he was taller than my other mini. They both got the same style haircut that I was quoted a price for and was expecting to pay that price. Who cares if one was a little taller. I was really insulted that they charged me per size and not per haircut. They could have told me that on the phone when I made the apointment. When I got home I checked my dogs over and found scratches on the insides of their legs because the groomer knicked them with the clipper. My one dog was was licking his paw and checked to see why and they cut his nail to short and it was bleeding. Will never go back there.

I called to ask how much a haircut and bath would cost for my Australian Shepeard. She said $60 for a haircut, bath, nail clipping, and glands. I explained that I only want her hair cut and a bath becuase I dont trust anyone but myself to clip her nails and clean her ears so would it be cheaper if I didnt do all that and only did the bath and haircut she said to me, and I quote "comes with it, we dont take any money off just becuase you dont want it, thats your choice" I politely said "well tropic waters does so I guess I will have to go with them" then she hung up on me. She was extremely rude in my opinion. She sounded like a stuck up teenager. Very unproffessional.

Inexperienced staff- girl in grooming came at my dog abd tried to touch her ear too fast and surprised my poor little 10lb fuzzball who was already anxious from being in a new place. Didnt even let my dog sniff her hand or anything. When my dog reacted with surprise, the girl said they wouldnt take her and that we should find a place that would muzzle her. Weve gotten her groomed for over 6 years with no muzzle, thank you. Maybe you should think about greeting the dog before you just start grabbing her. Never coming back.

This shop has wonderful choices if youre looking for something rare, and best of all has people who arent too busy to help you find it. Its great to find a big box store that can support its own customer base. The young lady in the grooming salon actually came into the store and helped me find everything I was looking for, she was knowledgable and attentive to what I was seeking. Skip the dog treat bar and go for their great selection of vacuum sealed dog yummies. Going back again!

I normally never write reviews, however, my experience today at Petco was very unpleasant!!! 1) Not one employee asked if they could help me find anything. 2) Walking down an aisle, a mouse ran in front of my feet. 3) It stunk so bad in there a couldnt even stay to finish trying to spend my $75.00 gift card I received for christmas. Petco you need to CLEAN-UP youre store!!!!

NEVER shop here. They basically say the housing they use is not adequate for their animals. When asked what you need for a pet, they always change their answer, contradict everything they are doing and online references. I have spent a lot of money here in the past. Go to Tropic Waters. They have happy pets and know what they are doing.

Staff was very rude to me when I wanted to handle any of the animals. They had about six Ball Pythons in -one- enclosure and were all having problems shedding due to low humidity (40% according to gauge in tank) They had patches of shed stuck all over the poor little guys :( This place NEEDS new management!

Great customer service and they truly do know about the animals you are coming in to pamper at the grooming services, feed with treats or meals and of course toys and everything else that I can think of from habi-trails to corals for the reef. I just love all of it!

Best selection of saltwater fish around. Cant beat the prices on fish either. They have a lot of cool exotic reptiles you wouldnt expect to find at a chain store. Best Petco Ive seen to and Ive gone to a lot of them.

Petco keeps their animals in unfit cages, most of the reptiles here are not properly taken care of. The employee will say what they are told in order to sell the animal giving miss information. Would not recommend.

This is a huge pet store! On Saturday mornings, you can find all sorts of pets there from dogs to chinchillas! They have all sorts of food, supplies, and accessories for you little (or not so little) friends!

If you think this is even half decent look up behind closed doors of pets smart/pet I and see if you support them anymore. I bet you you wont and wont ever go to a pet store that sells pets

The staff was very rude to the people behind me and treated my dog very poorly as well, he came home with a rash/clipper burn on his belly. Teeth didnt even seem like they were brushed.

Puppy dog and I love it. Didnt see any creepy crawly things there aside from snakes that would hold my intrest. Shame cause the tarantulas and scorpions I usually take home as pets.

Kitty is a great groomer! My dogs love her and they always look fabulous when I pick them up... no matter how matted and stinky they were when I dropped them off.
