Maggot in my granola & food poisoning on 2 different visits: Found a live 1 inch long live worm (maggot) in my granola that I bagged and bought in the bulk section. Then this week my partner and I have gotten raging salmonella food poisoning from ground beef purchased there last Monday. I was sick for 3 days beginning 24 hours after eating the meat (and did not eat anything else during the past 48 hours that could cause food poisoning besides the ground beef). My partner ate it again and then he got sick and is still extremely sick 3 days later as well.

Cant stand it when a grocery store wont honor clearly marked display ads. It said "All wines 20% off this week in 6 packs" -- but then at the register I was told they just forgot to take that sign down, it didnt really count. Arghhhh... Really? I walked out. Other than that, they tend to have a meager selection, higher prices than Safeway in Hood River, and not the greatest produce. I just wish it wasnt the closest grocery store by 15 minutes...

The selection of produce is pretty good, but if you buy it, you have to eat it within a day or two of buying it -- things tend to rot pretty easily when you buy them from Thriftway. If all youre looking for are packaged products, than Thriftway is a pretty good option with competitive prices. Their sandwiches are a very good deal - $5 buys a large sandwich with our choice of bread, cheese and condiments.

Nice local grocery. It is a rate treat to have an excellent grocery store in a small community like White Salmon. Harvest Market has a good selection; I never need to travel over to Hood River for the basics. Friendly staff. They have good produce, meat, groceries, frozen food, etc. No bakery, but with the superb White Salmon Balking company right around the corner theres no need.

Typical mtn grocery store......deli brags about options but forgets those options need flavor....chkn bow tie pasta was flavorless carbs....bacon pea salad lady said was out of this world-glad I dont have to choke down her homemade meals.....turkey Swiss sandwhich-bread was soft bout the only thing worth mentioning.....lackluster no vision- n absolutely bland all of it

Steer clear of the roast beef in the deli. Ive bought roast beef there probably 4 times over the years {either in a pre-made sandwich or sliced}and it has been rotten each time. Also bought a platter of mini taco appetizers and they were completely GREEN molded on the bottom. The manager gave us a full refund instantly.

Small town grocery at its finest! I love all the new additions including the deli, hot foods, and cafe! The olive bar might be a little excessive for our small town, but nice touch! Bulk foods, organic sections, non-organic sections to, (haha) beer and wine.. with nice bathrooms and updates throughout. Good job guys!

Its nice. A clean and friendly place. Has a good range of good quality food here and more choices for health conscious customers. Some great bulk items like nuts, spices, cereal grains, etc. and great looking produce. Personally I love the local brands and produce available

This small grocery store has a surprising selection, especially in their bulk foods section. Fresh fruit can be hit or miss, but they have a robust organic produce section and any pantry staples you need or want.

Not a bad place to stop if you need something quick but if you need to shop for a lot of groceries head over the river
