I think this place gets a lot of reviews because it is the only donut shop in the north part of Vancouver other than the conglomerate KK. I purchased a dozen so my family could try a variety of their donuts. Honestly, nothing sets them apart. They are meh. I can drive to Safeway (much closer) and get the same quality and quantity for half the price. Granted, I dont have old booths to sit in; just my warm home. It doesnt help that the service comes with a complimentary frown, or at best a bored face. If they work on making themselves a little better than Safeway and try to smile, I might try them again.

The doughnuts here are the best in town! Love them all, really. The reviewers who say theyre nothing special or no different from Safeway must not have the ability to differentiate between rancid oils and fresh. These are fresh :D We especially love the cherry fritters and buttermilk donuts. A real slice of Americana, the people working here seemed friendly enough to us. Its just a doughnut shop after all, its not like youre expecting dancing girls or happy birthday choruses with your food.

The best. Locally owned and operated for decades. Real authentic donut shop. No quirky fads needed just good down home freshly baked donuts. This place is a iconic part of national history and the best Donut Shop around, period. I have been going here for 20 years and am happy to know that it is a strong part of our community. My family and i have been to every donut place from salem to seattle from bend to the coast and this place is the best tenallis in portland not vancouver is a close second and the red barn in gresham is the third. Although i really wosh they made french crulers its the only thing thay r missing. The people are real down home people. We have been going here every sunday for the past 3 years now. And will continue to go here untill there comes a new place to try out.

apple fritters dusted with cinnamon and sugar (not the glaze) are OUT OF THIS WORLD! Oh my, I get excited for weekend mornings just thinking about these delights. I hate to share this secret publicly but this local gem deserves the PR. Trust me when I tell you that you should go here. You should go here often. Bring cash if you can- debit cards and credit cards carry a .50 upcharge to your order.

Donuts were ok but not like my hometowns place. But yes, probably the best in town. Woman was polite. You know a business is good when it is a lot of older folk who go there lol. The inside is really quite homy like a living room with little sitting nooks. Service was quick, but they are busy. Parking was decent, altho parking lot was hard to navigate. Thanks for the yummy donuts coffee nook :)

Best donuts ever!!! Better than Vudu!!! Dont let the exterior fool you, the place is SUPER CLEAN its just in an old building. Everything is fresh & excellent quality!!! Been eating here since I was 5 (Im now 50) its a great place for coffee with friends or just to grab a dozen. Be a hero & stop in at the Donut Nook for donuts for the office, you wont be disappointed!

Oh my gosh! There are no words to describe how amazing these donuts are! The buttermilk bars are the very best I have EVER had and the granulated sugar-coated old-fashioned are to die for! Their texture is out of this world! Regardless of how famous or popular Voodoo Donuts is, Donut Nooks donuts are infinitely better!

Nice little Donut shop to stop in on you way to work. Simple and sweet just the way I like them. I am an apple fritter freak and have to say these are the best Ive had so far. Take that Kripspy Kreme. Not a lot of room to hang out and read the paper, but service is good and donuts are even better!

Teally fresh donuts i love there bacon maple donut it tastes SOOOO good! Nice owner she is really nice. Really nice people who go there to. One day i was getting a donut and someone robs the place! Everyone starts chasing him. Now thats nice people!

Donuts are good but the old man is rude. If they want new business to stay they should at least be nice to folks. The last couple of times we have gone we were treated rudely by the old guy behind the counter, I think its time to retire.....?

Very home style friendly staff who are very welcoming and patient with me whenever I order a couple dozen donuts and have to pick and choose great for a hangout spot for retirees and a great little family get-together spot for donuts.

The donut nook has the best donuts I have had in the greater Portland area. It is made even better by the fact that walking in is like a time capsule into 30 years ago. I love this place and it is a must for anyone who enjoys donuts.

Excellent donuts. The donuts you grew up with, small business owner rather than massive chain store donuts or grocery store bakery. Fresh every morning. Day-old discounted if available, but its hard to pass up the fresh ones.

Its a cute laid back place! I walked in with my son and they helped me as soon as I got there. They have a great seating selection. Smells amazing! I would definatly suggest this place! Especially the buttermilk doughnuts! :)

Donuts are delicious!!! There was a great selection of donuts. The staff is very nice and friendly. The interior is awesome and has an inviting/warm feeling to it. Highly recommend a visit here, fair prices too.

Hands down the best donuts around. Their bacon maple bar is better than voodoos version because its got MORE BACON, and during football season they got SEAHAWKS donuts. The cherry fritter is addictive...

Great cherry fritters as well as ones with banana when theyre available (usually weekends only). Nice old fashioned establishment complete with regulars who look like they came with the place.

4 stars because I dont like the coffee. If you go for donuts you will not be disappointed. Everything is excellent. Better than any in pdx and 1/4 the price. Great people and a great place.
