Lets face it many of us have been through trials and tribulations in life. We try to overcome and then just settle with what we have. Then what we settle for ...fails. In many of our cases its our credit and what we depend upon to get us to from point A to point B. I was there. A vehicle I had for seven years (paid for by the way) failed. I kept just pouring money into it just to keep it running. Probably 7000 to 8000 in repairs. But once again it broke down. I was tired of the "lemon". Something someone I trusted sold me, no warranty, no perks, no discounts. I was skeptical, based on my experience and credit, I felt I had little to no chance of really walking out with anything more than what I already had. After filling out an on-line application, Forrest Yocom from Dick Hannahs called and we set up an appointment. My appointment was at 11:00 A.M. (very important, mentioned later) I got there and Forrest asked what I would like to be into, filled out a couple forms and he showed me some vehicles. The particular vehicles he showed me, he made sure to explain the history and CARFAX report on all of the vehicles. Forrest was also so honest on what, based off my credit report, I could get into and didnt want to get my hopes up on what I couldnt get into. During a test drive, Forrest was honest about what to look out for, based off of basic test driving and CARFAX report, more so than any salesman I ever encountered. During the wait for if I qualified or not, Forrest shared his personal story, his interests and overall life experience. At the end of it all, Forrest not only was able to get me into a vehicle I wanted, but what was practical and needed as well, including a warranty and a discount on services that I had never been offered in my whole life experience buying a vehicle. The next day I had planned to pick up my children for a visit. They were so longing to visit especially since the prior week, the area they live in was stricken with a wildfire. They were evacuated from their home and everything was so smoky. One of my daughters suffered from the allergies caused by the smoke. I will tell you this. Forrest made the visit happen. The car performed beautify and at the time of writing this they are visiting me, and of course happy daddy has a car that I can now visit them more frequently. A very personable human quality Forrest has. A quality that salesmen and women should seek to emulate. I could have not seen my children this 2015 summer had not Forrest made it happen. One more thing, I mentioned earlier my appointment was at 11:00 A.M. I was there until about 5:00 P.M. Six whole hours, I felt like I was Forrests only customer. I didnt know if he had others or not but thats how he made me feel. And speaking for people (Forrest did not tell me but I assumed) working on commission he spent a most appreciated and respected amount of time with me. In the years to come, I will not only be recommending Dick Hannahs to family and friends, but most specifically Forrest Yocom as their point of contact. I really appreciate this man.

I would suggest to anyone that they do a little bit of research into the Kelly Blue Book values of the cars included in their inventory prior to wasting time here. Pick a car from inventory...any car. In most cases cars are being sold for far more than they are worth. Many cars have high mileage as well. So yeah, maybe you CAN get a car with less than perfect credit. But does it mean that just because you have less than perfect credit that you should get beat over the head? Would hate to see the interest rates on the loan with their finance company as well. I was told these loans are called "high risk" for people that have less than perfect credit. Another word that comes to mind for me is called "predatory lending". As for my situation...I called to look at a car which was priced at nearly 2000 dollars over bluebook value as it was because and only because of the fact that the car had low mileage...the only one in its class that did. I was reluctant to go there in person and waste my time if the price of the car was not negotiable, it being way over blue book value so called. Talked to two people. One told me the price was non-negotiable, the other said may be able to come down some on price. Got the run around. Was told I would be emailed paperwork to fill out. Never came. Because of my admitted credit mistakes felt I was in a position to have to deal with what I feel are "predatory lenders". I work for cash but was told to send bank statements by fax when replying to emailed application. Application never was sent. I called again and asked if I could just fax the statements from my two banks...three months statements from both banks. Was told to fill out online application. Had trouble with that. So said screw it. Between the two bank statements, my deposits are ten times more than they said were necessary over the phone. Luckily for me, not really in a position where I have to have a car. Was just looking for a car somewhat better than what I have...but I do have a car and it runs. I have worked hard to get where I am now at but past credit mistakes continue to haunt me. Despite that, I would have been able to demonstrate on paper that I have ten times more cash deposits in bank accounts than they are asking for, had they only let me fax the statements and handled the situation correctly. BOTTOM LINE...cars are for the most part all well over priced in comparison to fair market value and loans are high risk aka predatory. Do the homework for yourself on these points BEFORE you buy. Dont get sucked in and beat over the head just because you have bad credit. It just isnt worth it.

I went to Dick Says Yes to look at used cars and was helped by Jim. I found a car that I liked, but he refused to come down in price, which was about $500 more than I wanted to spend, but I liked the car, so I agreed on the price. I didnt buy the car that day, but I returned the next day to sign all the paperwork and pick the car up. It was a Kia and overnight I did my research. Jim was trying to sell me a Kia for $500 more than what Dick Hannah Kia was asking for the same car with the same year, mileage, options, etc. Needless to say, I pushed back with this information and they lowered the price. However, once I got the car home I noticed a rock chip on the passenger side of the windshield. I called Dick Says Yes back, Jim wasnt in, it was Labor Day, the service center was closed, I was told to call back the next day. I called the next day, talked to Jim, Jim told me to bring the car by and he would have the service team look at it and if it started to spider, they would fix the chip. I brought the car in, the service team looked at it and they said the windshield would need to be replaced due to spidering. However, I would have to pay for it out of pocket. This is contrary to what Jim told me. I didnt have it fixed. I called Jim the next day and he (the one who told me they would fix it if it started to spider) acted like he didnt know what the policy was. I drove 40 miles there and back and they refused to fix something I missed when I bought the car. Also, after I bought the car, I had a referral card from a friend of mine. When I had the windshield looked at, they said that they wouldnt honor the referral card because you have to present it at the time of purchase. Here two big takeaways about my experience at Dick Says Yes: 1. Before you buy, check the Kelley Blue Book value and their own website for prices. They have 4 computers for use in the lobby they should let you use. They are crooked as a barrel of fish hooks and will try to gouge you! 2. Thoroughly inspect the car before you buy it. If theres something wrong, insist it get fixed before you buy. They will not stand behind the product theyre selling once its off the lot. I would not recommend Dick Says Yes for the above reasons. You may have bad credit and feel like this is the only place for you to go, but I would steer clear of them. They sell damaged goods at inflated prices (and are unresponsive to concerns of the customers).
