When I first moved here I was told to stay away from Car Toys in SIlverdale (its going around in the Military community). Well, against listening to my fellow Sailors (Im an Officer), I went ahead and went (Im prior enlisted, I should have known to listen to my Sailors). There customer service is that of a salesman mentality, they dont listen to the customers needs or whats best for you (I am guessing they work on commission). When you compare there prices to that of online merchants, they are double or even sometimes triple ... thats crazy mark up! They even tried to sell me a used Sub in the display case telling me it was only a couple months old ... come on, it had dust and grime all over it ... it had been there for a while... the deceit and straight up lie to my face definitely turned me off and I was out the door. I did my due diligence and searched around the Kitsap area, Car Toys is by far the most expensive in every aspect from speakers, cables and installation. I highly recommend going to a different pace in bremerton, its totally worth the drive and time. I wont say the name so no one thinks I am working for there competition, but I am only writing this to help my fellow Military personnel make the best decision and spend there money wisely since we work so hard for it! To finish my story, I ended up leaving Car Toys ... driving to a place in Bremerton (next to a small casino) and received great customer service (From Tim) and ended up sending $600.00... my ride sounds amazing, but more importantly, they listen to what you want and have the best customer service around ... period! My review could have gone lower OR higher. First off, I bought a radio for my 2011 Prius. I wanted Bluetooth, USB, AUX, etc. The Bluetooth was very important to me. It had to be able to automagically connect to either one of the two phones in our household. I was told the radio I purchased would do that. Well, it didnt (thats where the lower rating comes in). I was so frustrated. Made two trips trying to get the issue resolved. I was being told the radio could do it, but it just wouldnt. Now comes the part where I could have given a higher rating: Mike (mgr), Dave (tech), and Joe (tech) went above and beyond to try to make me happy. They all spent a great deal of time with me hoping to resolve the problem. Joe finally understood my issue. He also explained to me that the radio I purchased wouldnt do what I was told it would do when sold to me. He spent a couple of hours trying to research a deck that would. He found one. However, I actually declined the offer to switch out the radio for the one that would work. Just too much trouble for me to go back. Bottom line--sales is a little misinformed, installation is professional and done well, customer service is stellar. Just make sure you do your best to test your devices on the radio you want before buying. A lesson I just learned. The staff will be happy to accommodate.

Ok, service is bad, and unprofessional. I was told to keep my factory in-dash audio system to reinstall if I decide to sale my vehicle. I bought this very expensive DVD/GPS/ system and 1 month after the manufacture warranty expired, it died, so, my extended warranty kicked in. They pulled my system and I was told that the factory system they told me to hold on to, could not be reinstalled; so now my truck has a huge hole in the dash, and looks as if someone has ripped out my system. They never record anything, so they dont have a clue what they tell you, now they are telling me they never said it could be reinstalled, so now, I guess I’m liar! all they want is the freaking sale. ZERO PRIDE and ACCOUNTABILITY in their profession, now after 4 weeks, I still hadn’t heard anything about my system; I call to check on it, and they asked me "How long has it been" I answered, “about 4 weeks”, he said, oh it will take longer than that! I asked him to please check? He made this sound, that made me think he felt I was bothering him, he put the phone down, and a second later said “Nope” not here, I don’t think he really checked. THIS WAS A VERY EXPENSIVE SYSTEM!!! After its reinstalled, I will never BOTHER them again. And he never once asks for my name to verify the time frame, or anything, that place is a FREAKING Joke!!!

When I had Car Toys in Silverdale check work they had done because I was having problems with their install they refused to print a work order of what was checked. Which I needed since I now had to find some other place to check their work because they said nothing that was wrong was due to their install. Then they pulled my car around to the front of their store and said it was ready. I got out to it and the passenger seat was literally drenched in a big puddle of coffee covering the whole seat, and splattered all over the rest of the passenger side. They were going to pass it off like nothing had ever happened. So when I went in and mentioned it and wanted them to take care of it, they took it back around to their shop area, spent 1-3 minutes with a shop vac on it and said they did their best. They wouldnt even have the mess that they did cleaned up by someone who actually cleans cars!!!! Car Toys in Silverdale is definitely not a place you want to go for a quality job in anything! And the Manager just stood there and told others to take care of it, and looked at me like it was a hassle to have to make good on their negligence!

I asked the installer how much time would it take to install my remote start with cellphone module. He said hopefully around 3 hours maybe more because he hasnt done that type of thing before (using a different module than normal, which is what he recommended)and hes experimenting. I was shocked. I do not want anyone experimenting on my car. So I was uneasy and he assured me he knew what to do. So I left. It did take only about 3 hours when I got back he was on the registering part. So at this point he told me that I needed am additional subscription that cost me 152.00 extra ont top of the 483.00 I had previously paid. They neglected to tell me that on the original quote. I wouldnt have gotten it at this point if I knew it would be over 600.00. I feel they shouldve disclosed that info before hand not when my car is in pieces and the device already installed. So although the system works as of now, I am unhappy with how they handled the quotes and feel that they were misleading. Also telling a customer he is "experimenting" on their car is never a good idea.

This place is so TERRIBLE that its getting my first ever review! I read the reviews beforehand, but thought it would be my cheapest option so I figured Id just suffer through it...after all, how bad could it be? It turned out to be the WORST retail experience of my life. Here is my story: I walked in and was ignored by all the sales staff. One was arguing with a customer about pricing and the other 2 were playing on their smartphones. I knew exactly which car stereo I wanted from online research and found it. The funny thing is they marked it up $70 and then advertised it as "$70 off"...such a scam. I finally went and asked one of the associates to get it for me. This guy named Ryan "helped" me and proceeded to mumble through my installation options. He responded to each one of my questions as if I was an idiot and I was inconveniencing him. I was so angry after 10 minutes with Ryan that I canceled my order and went over to Best Buy where I received AWESOME service at a LOWER price. Dont go here! This place deserves to go out of business!
