Copied from my BBB complaint.. And no apology was ever issued. On June 10th, 2016 I went to the Lacey Washington store in the Fred Meyers pavilion. I had originally went into the store because overnight, my phone had done a factory reset on its own. Knowing that I could not use the phone for 4 days until it resets, I wanted to get a cheap working replacement phone to last those very few days. From the beginning the manager(he said he was the store manager- turns out he was not) convinced me to spend 39, instead of 29 to get a more reliable device. This is when the problems started. I took my NEW phone, and went to the zoo with my son. At the zoo, the phone did not work correctly AT ALL, it was shutting off, the camera malfunctioned, and I could not use many of the apps I returned to the store LESS THAN TWO HOURS later, where I was rudely told ALL SanS FINAL! I asked for his manager, as I had only had the phone for LESS THAN TWO HOURS- He informed me he WAS the manager. He instigated that it was my fault, and was going to reset the new phone. I told the associate to not factory reset until the pictures that did work were transferred to my google drive--he reset it anyways and I lost the pictures. He saw that the phone was not working correctly first hand, but said some features I said did not work were working (instigating I made it up)After arguing with him, he said he would "order me a replacement that would be there in 4 days"- Now keep in mind I only went to the store because my original phone was to be locked for 4 days, and I went and spent $60 (after taxes, and fees) at this store for him to tell me that he would order me a replacement. Finally he admitted he was NOT the manager and called "his manager" His manager told him no exceptions--That it was MY fault, and I cannot get my money back due to the device malfunctions because "it happens all the time and it is not metro PCS fault, but the company who makes the phone." Finally after arguing with that manager reminding him I had the phone for LESS THAN TWO HOURS, he tells me I can either wait for the replacement, or I can have a CHEAPER phone, and in turn they will keep the difference. (As in I paid for a $40 phone, but since THEY were inconvenienced with my complaints I can have a $30 phone). I was so distraught from the un-cooperation and the eye rolling, as well as snarky remarks from both the associate who said he was the store manager, and the actual store manager that I agreed to take the cheaper phone and essentially let them "pocket" the $10 inconvenience fee that he had made up. Upon getting the new $30 phone, before I signed anything I told the associate I wanted to make sure it worked. THE PHONE WAS BROKEN RIGHT OFF OF THE BAT. The "f" and the "s" key did not work. I believe they gave me a phone that had already been returned due to complications in retaliation. After saying that I did not want a phone with an "f" and an "s" key that did not work in some of the apps the associate then told me "well the microphone feature works why cant you just use the microphone?" He argued with me that I should just use the microphone and the keyboard isnt important. I told him I worked in a state office and cannot use a microphone feature all day. After saying that he continued his general smirk, and eye rolling as if I was an annoyance, and stupid. I also replied that I am spending money for a NEW WORKING phone, and that is what I would like to receive- a WORKING PHONE. He continued with basically talking down on his own product he was endorsing by saying "what more do I expect with such a cheap phone, and NO ONE ELSE complains like ME when they get the phone that it is a personal problem" He then called his manager again, and he manager spoke to me on the phone telling me that I am unpleasable and that I could have my money back- Keep in mind that I originally paid $40 for the first non-working phone that they replaced with a $30 non-working phone. The associate only wanted to give me my $30 back.
