Executive Summary: competitive prices, a talented staff and unmatched customer service. These guys blow Kinkos out of the water! I recently completed a personal project that I wanted to mass-produce. With limited funds and having never done something like this, I called 15 printing companies in the Seattle area to get price quotes. I then took the project to 5 of the companies with the most competitive prices to produce prints (rough drafts). Over the next 2 weeks, Brenda Kaslow (the Owner) and her staff produced several dozen prints free of charge. I obsessed over every detail imaginable with respect to color, paper quality, borders, brightness, centering/formatting etc. There were 2nd/3rd/4th drafts, but eventually they nailed it, so I decided to move forward with them. Their price was fair but most importantly, the quality of the product at Minuteman Belltown was superior to what the other companies could produce. They completed the project quickly and it turned out exactly as I had hoped. In the end, I think the reason Brenda and her staff went above & beyond to ensure my satisfaction was because of how much respect they had for the creative effort that went into producing the project. Needless to say, I will be returning to Minuteman Belltown for all future printing needs.

Maybe theyve undergone new management, but theyre not great. I called ahead to see if they had the ability to cut 110lb letterpress paper. Whomever I spoke with ensured me that the person who cuts the paper can do it and in fact teaches letterpress classes and is VERY familiar with this type of paper. First off, they say they open at 8 am. So I went (at 8 am) and no one showed up until 8:20. I work at 8:30am and when I asked when they open, they said, "oh around 8:15 or 8:30 whenever someone gets here." I mentioned that their website says they open at 8am and the guy was surprised. He told me that no one ever gets there at 8. Maybe they should update their website?! Regardless, the nice high quality paper I was assured could be cut well was cut, but ruined about 5 sheets in the process. The ruined sheets had a uniform imprint from the cutting press! Which then makes it impossible to use for letterpress. When I asked about it, she said, "oh that happens". If they know it happens, I would think they would either warn me or add a pad so it doesnt ruin the customers paper. The paper is high quality letterpress paper so its not cheap. They were nice enough to recut new sheets for me for free, but youd think if they were "very familiar" with letterpress, theyd know how to avoid that!
