Ballard Reuse... need I say more? This locally-owned storefront was not-too-long-ago the Ballard branch of "The Re-Store", a franchise (sic.) of materials reclamation/donation stores. The current management kept the store going and has been there for years prior. Think of it as the ultimate thrift store for general/specialty contractors, DIY specialists, preservationists, and all-around gear-heads, modders, and mad scientists. Even contractors out on the job can get lost for hours just rummaging through this treasure-trove of used tools, fixtures, materials, and funky vintage items. Be it restoring that old door in a 1930s home, adding new life to a structure with mixed-era decor, or just the need to tear some s**t apart and build something new out of it, this is the first place you should come too! The staff are all friendly and quite helpful, albeit sometimes taxed by the excessive number of folks who at times are in and out of the joint looking for materials. But if you catch an employee in the middle of helping another client, they always remember what you need and get you help ASAP or find someone in-shop who can. Pricing here is amazing! They have recently expanded much in the variety of there acquisitions, with more electronics components, reclaimed furniture, and always more ornate hardware. Youll be able to find most smaller items AT LEAST 50% undercut of their normal retail price, always guaranteed to be in working condition. Small metal items are often sold by the pound if not priced-as-marked. Im more of the mad scientist type myself... so Ive done more rummaging than donating. However they have a materials donation area on-site open within normal business hours. And PLEASE, keep donating cool stuff. This isnt the hardware store Id let kids run loose in, leave them at home. I also wouldnt come in on a dog-walk if you are a local, they have a couple of store cats that are well kept. They keep the place bug and rat free while chasing off evil spirits (when they arent moseying around acting cute). If you are putting it together or tearing it apart, Come to Ballard Reuse. I give the Ballard Reuse the highest of reviews. Please visit today!

I love Ballard Reuse. I never know what Im going to find, usually dont have any specific need, and rarely leave empty-handed. Folks working there patiently answer ALL my questions and dont get offended if I cant afford even the-frequent-customer best price from time to time. I drift in with tiny cat treats to offer the feline employees and always leave having seen/learned something amazing. Just be sure to get there with plenty of daylight left if youre looking for something in the "backyard" (marble, granite, garden pavers, bricks, pots, etc.) because they close it at sunset for obvious safety reasons. Not to worry though, theres always plenty to see inside. Go. Have fun. Pet the cats. Donate and/or buy something. Salvage the world! ♻

Tons of cool stuff here. Ive bought several things either looking for a specific piece for a project, or just browsing and found something unique. Donated a few things too. Most of the staff is really nice. Sometimes you can bargain a little bit with them on price if youre getting several items or something, sometimes they are not having it, which I understand since Im sure they deal with lots of crap from customers. Still better than buying new, and keeps cool modern and vintage stuff from going to the dump!

This place is awesome. I think of them as a lighting fixture place, but they had beautiful old doors, windows, doorknobs...furniture...if you need something for the house, try here first. The old stuff was durable and had character. If hollow doors and plastic windows irk you, go here instead.

This quirky place is full of reused building goods. Before you go to the big box store, check in here. Youll find better prices and more character. Also, the staff is laid back and very helpful.

Cool place working hard to up-cycle. If you take your time you might find a hidden treasure.
