I searched online for reviews before choosing somewhere to go for my exam. I chose East Main Vision because it had raving reviews.. I mean 22 5 stars is hard to beat right? The place is EXCESSIVELY over priced. In all of my life of wearing glasses (21 years) I have never been quoted $500+ for a pair of glasses. I have a high index prescription I get that but for the love of Pete! I did not care for Dr. Day or his staff AT all either. I felt very pushed into contacts that were way out of budget.. The MOST expensive contacts dailies and a brand I have never used coming to some $800 a year vs the monthlies I had always used. But what really really irked me is I have really bad eyes and they have been at the same prescription for 2-3 years now.. When I saw Dr. Day they made a 2 level jump up. Im not a child so growing is not what caused that. Being 1) high index puts me at high risk for complications and 2) 2 separate on medication that can cause eye damage could cause this jump. He did not dilate my eyes to make sure they were okay even though I asked "Are you 100% sure my eye are okay?! Are you sure I am not developing a cataract?" "Yes Im 100% sure!!" His staff dismissed me because of my age.. Less than 3-4 months from seeing him I have 2 very severe Acute Angle-closure Glaucoma. Which I called his staff AGAIN asking for a referral to an ophthalmologist on a Saturday because it was then I realized what was happening (at a point when it had gotten VERY severe) and they told me to call my prescriber of the medications that caused the meds and go from there.. I ended up getting a referral from Lensecrafters.

I have been seeing Dr. Day since about 1990 when he was still in downtown Puyallup, and as his operation has expanded through the years, attention to detail and customer service has kept pace. I feel that Dr. Day really is interested in keeping up with the latest news in his field, and when he started offering a new test for macular degeneration that bypassed eye dilation, I swore Id be a fan for life. I fear the day that he decides to retire. The care and concern shown by Dr. Day is mirrored by each member of the EMVC staff. These people know their stuff, are very professional, and Ive always felt that they care about me as a client. They also seem to have been empowered to make decisions on their own, which is a rare and amazing commodity to encounter in customer service. When I started seeing Dr. Day, I worked in Puyallup and his office was very convenient. Sometime during our relationship, I moved to University Place and he moved further out toward Sumner. It takes me about 45 minutes to drive to EMVC, but Dr. Day and staff are worth every mile. (PS - Dont worry, the giant candy bars presented in the care pack with each new pair of glasses totally did not influence this review. :) )

I followed Dr. Day from a former clinic to this new location many years ago, and later referred my husband and daughter there as well. Dr. Day has built a great practice and has hired and maintained a capable and professional staff. Every time I visit I arrive to a friendly greeting and I rarely have to wait more than 5-10 minutes to be placed in an exam room. The reception staff are well versed in dealing with primary and secondary insurance and Ive rarely encountered any issues with payment. Their visit process is well organized and the transitions from clinical technicial to doctor to eyeglass technician are seamless. Dr. Day is also very good about explaining the changing condition of my eyes and answering all questions. The frame selection offered by East Main is very good, Ive never felt a need to look elsewhere. Certainly you can find glasses cheaper at other national chain stores in the area, but what you wont find is the quality, personalized service and the up-to-date brand name frame selection. East Main will continue to be my familys preferred eyecare provider unless we move out of the Puyallup area.

Ive been going to East Main Vision Clinic for almost three years now. Decided to leave my prior optician due to being treated poorly for a long time. Ive had some unusual eye health issues for someone my age. From the beginning , Dr.Day and his entire staff have been exceptional in providing top notch care. His unwavering determination to get to the bottom of my eye condition was truly reassuring. He established early on that WE were in this together , and that he and his office would do whatever it took to get to the other side of it. I cant adequately express how relieved and grateful that I ended up in their care. His staff is nothing short of amazing. I dont feel like a patient when i walk in the door. Im met with genuine kindness and concern. I recommend that any and everybody do yourself a favor and give them a try.

From the moment you walk into East Main Vision Clinic you feel as though youre valued, important and an honoured member of their family. Ive never had a question unanswered, nor a concern not get addressed. Dr. Day and his staff were highly recommended to me; turns out being highly recommended was an underestimation. Quality care, consummate professional individuals and an overall sense of being very well cared for are what East Main Vision Clinic delivers, I wish I had become a patient years before, but am grateful to Dr. Day and all the professionals on his staff.

Ive been going to EMVC for years! Dr. Day is a GREAT Doctor. He really takes the time to thoroughly go over your exam and answer all the questions you have. He never rushes you or wants you to feel rushed. He spends quality time with his patients to make sure they are taken care of. The selection of glasses and sunglasses are great. It is updated several times throughout the year, so there is always something new. It takes me forever to choose my glasses, and the girls are super patient and polite. I would recommend this vision clinic to everyone!

I have found the entire examination procedures very comfortable with explanations given along the process. I feel I am in expert hands. I would recommend East Main Vision Clinic/Dr Joseph Day to anyone feeling they need to find a good place for concise eye examinations and optic care.
