Short Story: Not recommended! Mary Mitchell the owner of Flowers By the Bay/Gig Harbor Flowers/Gig Harbor Florist is extremely rude, eager to argue, immature and difficult to work with. Mary hung-up on me numerous times even calling me back only to hang-up again. I ended up being charged for a product that I never received inevitably having to file a claim with my bank in order to get my money back. Long story: I ordered flowers to be delivered to my mother-in-law on Mother’s Day 2014 from Flowers By the Bay/Gig Harbor Flowers/Gig Harbor Florist (they go by all three names). My order was confirmed for Sunday (Mother’s Day) delivery but on mid-day Friday, a man at the florist left a voicemail requesting to see if the flowers could be delivered Saturday instead of Sunday. Since I was at work, I wasn’t able to return the call until 5:30pm that day. Mary (owner) answered the call and was very RUDE from the start. It was clear she was irritated that I called when I did claiming they were closed (note: website hours of operation 8am-8pm). She continuously interrupted me when I was trying to explain that I was only returning THEIR phone call in regards to a delivery change. Because of her impolite interruptions she lead herself to confusion thinking I was the one trying to change the date, stating they can’t guarantee delivery times. The conversation continued on like this until Mary’s hostility peaked when she suggested that we cancel the order. I surrendered in agreement, thanked her and told her that was probably a good idea. Before we could confirm the cancellation she immediately hung up on me. I tried to reestablish contact a few times to complete our conversation and make sure we were not going to be charged. Mary hung up on me twice, my husband once, and had the audacity to call us back threatening to sue us for “slander of her business” in regards to this review. It has now been a week since the “order cancellation,” my account has been charged the full amount of $76, and no flowers were ever delivered. In order to obtain my money without her graciously giving it back, I had to again establish contact with the business, which of course she hung up on me two more times. Thankfully my bank is handling the rest and an investigation over the charges. But wow, what a painful, drawn out ordeal over a bouquet of flowers.

Very Very Disappointed !! Ordered online for a birthday arrangement. Was called to tell me that they couldnt deliver until the afternoon which was fine. They however didnt say anything about not having the right flowers for the arrangement. I wish I could add a picture to show. The colors and flowers in the arrangement were nothing like I ordered. Way too much for the arrangement that was sent. Will never order from this shop again !! Wish I could give it no stars at all Do not order from them. Spend your time and money looking for a better florist.!!!

I just called to place an order for Valentines Day, so Im two weeks in advance. Should be plenty of time for a florist right?!?! I was transferred to the "designer" and was shocked by my interaction with her. She cut me off as I was describing what I wanted and was SO RUDE!! I read the other bad reviews prior to calling but thought Id give it a shot anyways because I live in Gig Harbor and wanted to use a local business as opposed to a national delivery service. Too bad! I would NEVER use this business!!

This was the most unbeliveable worst service I have ever experience. Mary was so rude and not helpful. It suprises me that she has even one good review on here. She told me that the colors of the flowers I picked were old and depressing, she does not stand by what she has on her website as what she can do. Rude Rude Rude Im very surprised that she has been in business this long. I always try to buy locally, wont happpen there though. Dont go.....

Exceptional service! The delivery was fast and I got the nicest thank you card from them with a description of how my friend reacted when she received the beautiful plant I ordered. It touched my heart and I am so thankful for the speedy delivery! So easy to order online and a wonderful personal touch with the thank you.

I ordered flowers (I am in Colorado) for my niece in Gig Harbor... she said that they arrived so very FRESH and ABSOLUTELY BEAUTIFUL !!! She was thrilled and so was I since they were so fresh. Makes such a difference ordering LOCAL! THANK YOU SO MUCH. Would definitely recommend and use again.

Dont be fooled by all of the shops on line ! We have been in the harbor going on 21years the other shop are trying to say they are us !!!!!!! NOT true we are AAA plus better business rating we are family run no employes!
