I bought a used BMW 5 series from Volvo of Bellevue (an autonation company). Pros: - Clean, friendly, professional staff - No haggle price is actually very competitive and reasonable - Financing (if required) easy and pretty quick Neutral - Standing behind warranty Cons: - Buying a new car is just a long process that can take 4+ hours - Trade in value for my car was too low, sold it myself for 2k more than their best offer - Gave me a second key to my car that doesnt actually go to my car and not willing to replace it Story: On the day I bought my car I was given two identically looking key fobs, one worked, one didnt and I really just wanted to get out of there (it had been a long day) and figured it was just a dead battery so I didnt make a big deal about it at the time. After several days of owning the car I discovered the second key didnt actually go to my car (the metal part of the key didnt fit the door locks and after a battery change none of the remote functions worked). Also, "brakes need service" alert came on even though the inspection showed the brakes were almost new. I took the car and the key back to Volvo made me a service appointment for the brakes and gave me a loaner car (not even going to discuss the roller skate of the loaner car, very basic transportation). The brakes apparently needed to be re-done IDK if that is normal or not but if its under warranty and I get new brakes it was fine with me. As for the key, that is a different story. First was told, nothing we can do, you can take it to Bellevue BMW (an autonation company) and they can at least reprogram the fob for you to work with your car even though the key doesnt work but it may cost you a few bucks. For expedience sake, Id didnt actually care, that would have met my requirements if it was going to be under $50 or so. When I went to Bellevue BMW I asked a service pro if they could reprogram the key for me and that was a no-go (a new one would cost ~$520) but they scanned the key (called a key read) which printed out a piece of paper that they handed me. The paper had the VIN of the car the key went to and I was instructed that I could at least take the key back to Volvo and prove that the key didnt go with the car. I had caught this service pro in the middle of something so I didnt want to be too much of a bother and since I had my answer that they couldnt reprogram the fob I said thanks and walked away. Upon further investigation of the piece of paper I discovered that not only did it have the VIN of the car it belonged to but it also had the name, address and phone number of the last owner. So now I have a key to a car I dont own and the personal information of who actually does own it...Im pretty sure thats not cool. I went back to Volvo and talked to the Sales manager who before I told him about what had transpired offered to pay for half of a new key, but that is still $260...decent but I shook hands on a deal that included a car with two keys and thats what I paid for. As far as Im concerned one of my keys doesnt work, i dont care why it doesnt work I just expect it to be covered under warranty and fixed. As I see it, when the car was traded in the dealership should have validated the keys worked, if they didnt dont pass it off as if they do and pass the buck on to me. I told the sales manager I had a different route I wanted to pursue which involved getting in touch with the keys owner and I would try that before paying any money. I explained what had transpired at the BMW dealership and got a shocked response from the sales manager (rightfully so). I emailed him an image of the documents so he had them. Still havent resolved the key issue but hoping to soon. So, not a stellar review but reflective more on autonation as a whole as opposed to the two individual dealerships.

Sales rep was great. Follow-up was terrible. Had a safety recall on the 2017XC90 2 weeks after getting the car. At the recall they found a crack in the tail light that I never noticed. This was my second new vehicle from the dealership within 3 years (2015 S60 and the lease was up in a few months for that one which I was planning to trade for a new volvo). I was referred to the used car manager and I asked if it was possible for them to take care of it since I was a returning customer and the vehicle was in the shop when I was doing paperwork so I never allowed to do a walk-around prior to purchasing. He was not friendly at all and said, "Of course Im NOT going to take care of it." He went and passed me off to a service rep who proceeded to give me 10% off the $530 bill. Under the circumstances of driving the car with faulty airbags for a couple of weeks on a recall report that was given to the public 2 months prior and being a returning customer with a new car I was displeased. I started replying to the service rep manager when asked on auto-reply for the recall on how my visit was via email (who later just started ignoring my emails all together when I asked which person was supposed to respond to me) and waited 2 weeks to give them a chance to rectify the situation before I wrote any type of bad reviews/surveys because I am not one to write bad reviews. The leasing manager did leave a message and asked if I had a question from my lease -- apparently not being forwarded any of my complaints. I called back and left a message detailing the situation. Then I got called by a different leasing agent who had no idea what the situation was. Even Mazda repaired a dent for my co-worker recently when he was a returning customer and I have never experienced this type of nickel and diming at a luxury car dealership. I was planning to be a lifetime volvo owner, but that certainly ended with this purchase. Update: Finally, the proper manager called me and we spoke and he asked me what would have satisfied me. My first words were 1. customer service and communication and 2. at least something like 20% off. He gave me 20% off, but I declined. Did they really think I was up in arms over another $50? No, I was infuriated by the lack of responsiveness, communication and customer service for a returning customer. I ended up getting it fixed for more money at Maaco because of the principle of the whole thing. My advice: next time make sure your repeat customers are happy with their new purchases so they will come back again. Since at least they finally tried (after 2 weeks and a bad survey) I upgraded my score to 3 stars to not be mean. I have received excellent service before at Lexus or Inifiniti on the eastside.

Outstanding is the best way to describe the service I received from Cody in the sales team to James in finance. They have definitely got all my future business and I would recommend them to everyone I know. Although I will be the first to admit that the sales guy that I initially got in touch with almost put me off going there all together. I had spent a long time searching for the car I wanted through many different dealers, I found one at Autonation Volvo, reached out to them through the online chat feature, a sales man emailed me and told me the vehicle was in the shop for receiving inspection and wouldnt be available for viewing for a couple of days and asked him to let me know as soon as it was ready. Anyway a few days past and I called the branch (spoke with Cody in Sales) to find the status of the vehicle, only to be informed that someone had put a reserve on the it and since purchased. I was very frustrated to say the least, the sales guy I spoke with initially never told me about this "reserve feature" or that the vehice had been sold. At this point I was not going to give Autonation my business. A couple of weeks past and they had another vehicle in that was really nice, I reluctantly reached out to Cody (second sales guy, the really helpful one) and expressed my interest he explained the reserve feature, which I promptly did as to not miss out a second time. Drove the car and loved it. Now comes the fun finance part, we all love the hours sat in the dealers going over this part dont we. So I explained what I was looking to pay, Cody came back with numbers that scared me and honestly werent going to work for me. Then came the inevitable meeting with the finance manager (James), he was great, no pressure got me numbers I was really happy with and worked for my budget. Drove the car home within 4 hours of arriving there, complete with a full tank of gas. Within a couple of days I had some issues with the car, the car was sold "AS IS" no warranty, but they had me take to the BMW dealership. Honestly to my shock they fixed everything without any questions. They got me a rental car and even detailed my car and refilled the gas tank again. In short, if you are looking to buy a car, new or used, go to Autonation Volvo, ask for Cody and get James to do the numbers. No pain, no drama, no pressure, just genuine nice people that actually care about the customer. They can even get you a car from the other local Autonation dealers. Brilliant, thank you so much for this great experience. If you are interested, it seems another reviewer on here had the same bad sales guy that I had initially. Ask for Cody, you wont be disappointed.
