The intial service (when the cake order was placed) was pleasant and thorough. The time was taken to confirm that they had all of the details regarding the cake, decoration and pick up day/time- they even requested a copy of the shower invitation to make sure that colors/picture matched and followed up with a phone call a few days to make sure that they had it correct. On the day that i was to pick up the cake i called at noon to confirm the time for 9PM as requested when the order was placed. I was told that it would be ready although they could not find it in the refrigerator at the store. I was also told not to worry in that it would be there/delivered in time, even if it was not there when I called. At 8:30 pm on my way to get the cake, i called again to make sure that it was ready/packaged but was told then that they could not find it and they would call me back in a few minutes. The owner then called me back immediately, indicating that the cake was not there and he needed a few minutes to find out what happened and if it was even baked/decorated. He called me back at 9, apologizing that it was likely still at the warehouse (in Sterling) but he had to go there first, etc. ,etc. etc. Ultimately i agreed to meet him at the Sterling warehouse since there did not seem to be any other option and thankfully the cake was there. I could not pick it up on the following morning due to teh start time of the event; he did not offer to open the store early the next day, to drive it to the shower location on the next morning or to my home on that evening. The warehouse is in an office park which is desolate at 11PM on Friday evening- this is NOT the place that any woman should come alone at that hour but there I was. The owner did apologize and could not explain why it was not delivered to the Reston store. The final kicker is that the frosting was a salmon color instead of the pink that was ordered- but at 11PM the night before the event, it was too late to do anything about it. For this- no apololgy or explanation was offered. When asked if he was able to make an partial adjustment/credit for the inconvenience, I was told that he coudl not do anything w/o first finding out what happened and he would first need to speak with his staff on the following week. It has been four days since this debacle and I have yet to receive any phone call, message or apology. I called the store this afternoon and i was assured that I would receive a call back immediately. That was three hours ago. I can not give them a good recommendation; for big and high-profile events the service/reliability are equally as important as the quality of the cake/confection. This issue almost ruined our event and no restitution was offered. I will not use them again and neither will my NoVa-based co-workers, neighbors and friends. UPDATE: I received a call from the owner late afternoon yesterday. We had a very frank discussion what happened, its impact to me and my expectations as a customer. He apologized, thanked me for my feedback and offered a choice of concessions which i greatly appreciated. This is what would expect from a business owner when a mistake in their business impacted their customer negatively, even if the gesture was a few days delinquent.

DO NOT order your cake from here! Very unprofessional!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Tia called me for over a week asking me if I wanted a birthday cake for my daughter which I enquired about. On May 2nd, I gave her my card and home address for delivery at 1pm. The day of my daughter’s birthday, she calls me at 7am and tells me that she makes a mistake and only charged me $34.34 and blames it on - her being new, the machine making a mistake, miscommunication – not once did she apologize until I brought this to her attention. Then she apologized, she also tells me that the cake is for May 14th – which is also INCORRECT! Then when she tells me the new amount for the cake $73.14 – there is a woman in the back who is saying that they are now going to charge me for delivery – all of which was NEVER discussed. Tia refunded me the amount she said she charged me on May 2nd, when she placed the order again on May 9th, I asked her to email me a copy of the invoice. I waited 45 minutes and did not receive a copy, so I called and Robin picked up the phone, I asked for Tia and told her I didn’t receive the invoice, she told me she has a physical copy of the receipt that I can pick up with my order. I told her that I asked her to email me the invoice as a receipt and she said she would email me it - which she did shortly after. The reason I am upset is because it is my child’s first birthday, I formally placed my order for a cake a week before her birthday, (after Tia called and called me asking if I wanted to place the order) only to find out that everything they had was wrong! Upon my arrival at the Sterling location - which I didnt plan on picking up the cake, so I had to leave work early to avoid sitting in traffic on 606 - to be told by the owners wife that I was NASTY! I didnt do anything at that point, there was no apology from the owner, instead she was RUDE and told me this was the last cake they would do for me. Which is fine by me because I will NEVER go back to her company and I will make sure that business contracts that her husband has with mine - will also be cancelled. The cake was wonderful and tasted good - but the service was TERRIBLE! Who wants to receive a phone call on the day of their daughters first birthday only to realize that everything is WRONG with the order. HORRIBLE service - go elsewhere folks!

It takes a lot for me to take the time to write a review—good or bad—but Alan, the CEO of Edible Incredible, compelled me to take the time to write one. Alan provided terrible customer service and was outright rude to us at our wedding cake tasting. Sure, the company has a bunch of great reviews, but so do a lot of other local cake vendors and those vendors are actually nice to you!! Were not giving him our wedding business, and will definitely not stop into any of their stores for anything else. The details: We picked out only two cake vendors to try for our upcoming wedding in September. We had picked out three cake flavors to try at Edible Incredible. While we were at the tasting, Alan asked us if there were any other flavors that we wanted to try. So we picked the chocolate cake. He didn’t mention until later that he would CHARGE us for this cake! Who does that at a tasting! Also, at the end of the tasting, it was as though he couldn’t get us out fast enough. He chose to stand while we were still asking questions despite the fact that we were still sitting. Also, he had disappeared by the time I got my change back for my $5 cake, even though he seemed to have the time to collect our money. He didn’t bother to say goodbye or to thank us for coming in. While his cakes were good, there are so many fantastic cake vendors in the area. It’s as though his recent press has gone to the guy’s head. The crazy thing is, we were seriously considering using them! If Alan hadn’t acted the way he did at the end, we would have very likely gone with them. Also, when we got back from the tasting, I noticed how unprofessional Edible Incredible’s responses are to some of the other bad reviews. I have no doubt they might attempt that with me, but I think that just shows their true colors. Give your money to a company that’s more deserving and appreciative of your business! There is way too much competition in this area to treat your customers like that. We are going with Wanda’s Cakes in Centreville. Not only was Wanda sincere and polite, she doesn’t nickel and dime you for every little thing like Edible Incredible does and the cakes are just as good.
