Never encountered such a nasty owner of a business! My beau spent $120 to send me a Valentines Day bundle - a dozen roses, a box of candy and a teddy bear. Long story short, I called to let them know that I didnt receive the teddy bear. I didnt want anything more or less - just wanted what my beau paid for. I was going to give the teddy bear to our blind rescue dog. After being on hold twice, the owner finally came on. We discussed the delivery - which was to be at my office. But I was sick on Friday and left early. They didnt deliver because I wasnt there - that was the right thing to do. But they didnt attempt to call my beau for an alternative address - it would have been nice to get Valentines Day flowers on Valentines Day. But that was fine - I was OK with that. They delivered the flowers on Monday. I was still out sick and they were on my desk this morning. They were all open and about three were withered. I was underwhelmed but I appreciated the fact that my beau sent them to me. When we continued the conversation, the owner was just concerned about finding the paperwork and talking about the delivery. She found the paperwork and said - yes - he did order the bundle. Then she kept saying we were so busy on Friday - we had 400 orders. I was over it and said, well thats good for you. (In my mind, I was thinking what on Gods green earth does that have to do with me - that is your business - I would hope you are busy on Valentines Day and make appropriate preparations.) Then she said, you obviously havent worked in a florist. At which point, I said, WHY SHOULD I?! WHY.SHOULD.I Am I missing something - I was calling to claim what my beau paid for - I wasnt calling to find out what your day was like on Valentines Day. If my beau hadnt mentioned the teddy bear, I wouldnt have called. And Sunflower Florist wouldnt have delivered it. She even asked me if I still wanted it. The experience was ruined - I could not care less about getting anything from them. But they didnt fulfill their delivery. For $120, they needed to do more - at least be courteous. She never asked what she could do or apologized for not delivering the bear. It was all about what they were going through. I think the fact that I said WHY SHOULD I (know what its like to work in a florist) got to this owner because she turned so nasty I think I heard her teeth grit. She said: you are being so unreasonable - there are people who have cancer and you are worried about a teddy bear?! I was flabbergasted. Where did THAT come from? Then she went on to say, you tell XXX (my beau) not to ever call here again - we dont want your business! Uh - OK. I think he actually used a toll free number to order the flowers - he didnt call directly. But WOW - what an utterly unpleasant experience and what an angry owner! PS - I didnt mention the chintzy bow they put on the vase - OMG - it was as if they got to the end of the roll of ribbon and barely had enough ribbon to make a proper bow but didnt want to make a nice bow and just used what they had - so unprofessional. Icing on the cake!

I am a floral designer with 28 years experience. Our cousin died and my Aunt wanted to send flowers. In order for me to go to the funeral in Norfolk I had to leave much earlier than normal because the traffic coming from my side of town(Carrollton) is very bad heading that way. I also didnt want to walk into the church carrying the flowers. I had suggested that we order the flowers from a shop in Norfolk , so they would already be in place when we arrived to the church. After looking up the address, I found that Sunflower florist was very close. I had used them before to wire orders to, so I suggested them. When we arrived at the church there were three arrangements on the alter. Two were very nicely done. The third was apparently the arrangement that was sent for us. My Aunt said she ordered a fall arrangement . She spent 65.00 on flowers and was also charged 15.00 for delivery. ( I was a little shocked by that since they were so close and we only charge 9.00 for delivery, but every florist is different) The arrangement that they sent was all white in a green vase to large for the flowers that were in it. The arrangement looked like it had been dumped over (maybe during delivery) and then haphazardly put back into the vase. It was one sided and there were no greens in the back of the vase. It was left unfinished. It had 2 snap dragons, 3 carnations,3 fugi mums, 2 alstromeria, 1 stem of daisy and 1 lily. I was horrified after counting the flowers in the vase, and realizing there was only about 30.00 worth of flowers in the vase. It was all wrong. I told my Aunt that maybe it was the drivers fault and rather than return the vase to the shop to be corrected ,he/she tried to fix it themselves? I told her to call the shop and explain the problem. I was sure that once explained they would make it right with her. She called me today and said they would refund 15.00 for the fact that the arrangement was all white and not fall colors. Saying nothing about the horrible design, lack of flowers and greens. Again I felt awful, feeling that I should have made the arrangement myself and carried it with me to avoid this awful mess. I hate to write a bad review on someone. But it disturbs me that this was sent out as an arrangement for them to be proud of.Something that is suppose to represent their shop. And the way they handled their complaint was not satisfactory or how I would handle a complaint. If I make a mistake or the customer is dissatisfied we would have given the customer a refund or offered to correct it . I would not suggest this florist. Nor will I be using this florist to forward orders to in the future.

Very very disappointed. I sent a "bee well" arrangement to a dear friend in Norfolk sentara hospital. The florist shop called me back and said my friend was not in Norfolk hospital. So I called and was given his room number right away. Then I received a call saying he was in ICU and could not have flowers, yet when I arrived to visit he has several arrangements in his room. Because of his illness the nurses were allowing him to have flowers. So I called again and explained the situation and finally the flowers were delivered. The flowers were old. And were all dead with in 48 hours. I was unaware of the problems with the first arrangement. I called and asked that a second arrangement be delivered. I asked for 24 to 36 CARNATIONS rainbow colors, red, orange, yellow, green, blue and purple. I asked for a HUGE vase of flowers with a extremely large yellow bow. I wanted my friend to have sunshine with rainbow. What he received was 24 carnations with 4 colors, a medium bow. the worse part was the flowers were not arranged in a vase. they were layered like a funeral arrangement. My friend is dying of cancer and a funeral arrangement upset him. I felt so horrible. When I go back to visit my friend I will take him flowers from Richmond. He lives in Norfolk. At least if I get the flowers in Richmond I will get what I pay for. The service was fair, the person I talked to acted like she was doing me a favor to wait on me. Most evident with the first attempts she would not even call the hospital to get room number. The prices were horribly high. delivery charge 12+ dollars. My florist here in Richmond does not have a delivery charge. I do not recommend The sunflower Florist for any thing. Shirl Wicks BS RN ASN BSHS MS/ Retired p.s. I should have read the horrible reviews this florist has posted, I guess this is my fault for using this business. I am not the only one with issues. To the owner maybe you should hire some one to run this business for you...
