Always feel like this store is understaffed. Have been in twice this past week and the store was not busy yet I still had to wait awhile just to get help. I had just come in to pick up a packet if papers that I had left including a manual and etc but it took 10 minutes before they found it. I also wanted to get a reflector that was missing from one of the pedals which is a simple solution. All they had to do was give me a yellow reflector piece to snap into my pedal yet I was told to bring the bike in and they still messed that up. Mind you the bike is almost $700 and they couldnt just give me a little yellow generic reflector. Something that shouldve taken 1 min lasted another 15 minutes. For a store that usually prides itself in customer service I am pretty dissatisfied with my experience at the Tysons REI.

Racist management! Worst Rei experience ever!! I docs lot of service work for rei and this by far was the worst experience and most uncomfortable ever. She had her employee follow me the entire time even though I had valid paper work. A few weeks later I sent my Caucasian employee to finish the work he had a more pleasant experience with her. Never ever will I shop here again. Take the minutes to shop at the Columbia and Rockville stores. I also had this experience at Woodbridge, fairfax , and bailed crossroads. Being colored has made my experience at rei difficult

Came in today to update my hiking boots. Salomons were hurting-- got some expert advise from Mark in the shoe department. Within an hour, wed figured out the source of my woes. Marks expertise kept me from returning the boots Id spent 50 miles breaking in and made me leave with a smile. My wife and I are always willing to pay a little bit more for REI because the knowledge and personality just cant be matched by an online retailer. Truly appreciate the level of service. This is our new go-to store.

I was happy to see an REI open up close to the office. I went in to ask about an issue I was having with my GPS cycling computer and was ready to buy a new sensor when the manager (Brandon) asked to help. He checked in their system and saw that I had purchased the unit less than a year ago. He exchanged the sensor for a new one and offered to do the same with main unit if necessary. He was very helpful and knowledgeable about what I needed.

The staff at this location excel at proving customers a satisfactory experience. From outfitting to advice, the helpful employees at the Tysons REI are top notch. To date, they are the only sales reps who have told me not to by something or to buy a less expensive item rather than push something I didnt need; they honestly want you to happy with your purchase. Furthermore, this location is well stocked with the best outdoor gear around.

Usually great service, but if you are taking a bike in, beware that the date they give you may not be firm. I was told that my bike would be ready in one week (the norm at Bailieys Crossroads) but now Im being told it will take two weeks. That is a long time to be without a bike for a commuter. Make sure they are upfront about the schedule, so you dont leave your bike at the shop unnecessarily - like I did.

Knowledgeable and helpful staff. I have been to both REIs, and there is a noticeable difference in the demeanor of the staff at Tysons. There just seems to be genuine smiles and genuine care from the staff. I was particularly impressed with Will, Joey and Brandon. I will be returning to this store for future outdoor gear needs. Five stars without a doubt.

We are looking to buy a new tent and drove 2 hours to see a tent that this REI had in stock. The store was super busy but Christopher took the time to find the tent and assemble it so that we could see how it was put up and its features first hand. He was very informative and helpful. Great staff in the store. We will be back for sure!

If you dont know about REI, then you have to stop in and take a look. Not only do they have high-quality stuff at a good price, but they also offer a 1-year money back guarantee on all items - no questions asked. This particular store is great because its never too busy (even on Attic Sale days) compared to other REI stores in the area.

I love REI. Their membership services are unbeatable. Im a strange fit for backpacks, but as an REI member, I got to try out several and exchange the ones that didnt work for the perfect backpack. Ive also bought running shoes and all my gear from them. The staff is so patient and knowledgable. I really cant say enough great things!

Greatest inventory of outdoor equipment and clothing of all the DC area. Staff and Manager have gone out of their way to extend discounts and expertise on products multiple times. We do all our outdoor related shopping through them when possible and recommend them highly.

Similar to the store in Baileys, however this location seems to be focused more on clothes and retail than outdoor gear. That being said, still has the regular selection of items you would find at any REI. Staff are friendly and helpful.
