I went to purchase a new couch for my son who was coming home from Iraq and with the help of the sales woman I found one. It reclined on one side and the tag on it said $299.00. I was trying to decide whether to get the loveseat that matched for $279.00 or the couch and decided on the couch specifically for the recliner feature. I made this very clear and asked if it was available in the chocolate color shown on the sample swatches. She checked her computer and said yes. I told her I needed to speak to my husband and I would let her know. The next morning I called her and told her my husband would be down to purchase the couch would she please ensure it was wrapped for travel as we would be moving it 5 hours away. When we got to my sons 3rd floor apartment and unwrapped the couch I saw that it was not, in fact, the recliner I had agreed to buy. I called the store immediately the next day when we returned home and spoke to the associate about it. She said "Oh, well the recliner version was $599.00". The fact that the chocolate couch in the stockroom for pickup was not a recliner was never mentioned by her when we discussed my wanting the recliner model. I told her if I wouldve known that I wouldve bought that one. I expressed how unsatisfied I was with her service and that I felt she misled me. I also told her that I would not be shopping there again. I am usually not one to complain about something of this nature, but I feel important details about the couch I purchased were intentionally left out just to make a sale and I wanted to share my experience with anyone who may be just as trusting and fall prey to another salesperson who is not looking out for the customer.

I had a TERRIBLE experience with Value City. We went into the store on our move day and brought a truck expecting to walk out with a couch. They sold us a couch from their ads, said they didnt have any stock but had plenty of overflow at the warehouse and it could be delivered the next week and we paid upfront in full. We went without a couch for almost 2 weeks. 2 days before the couch was to be delivered they called to say they oversold the couch and could possibly deliver one the following weekend but couldnt guarantee it. They did not offer any other alternatives so I had to go into the store to speak to them in person. They would not allow us to pick out something different and it took 30 minutes of negotiating before they finally offered to give us a loner couch which they did deliver the very next day. They promised us that in 4 days the couch we ordered would be delivered. Here it is almost 3 weeks after we got the loner and we still have not heard about when we are getting our new couch, and I am starting to fear we are going to be stuck with this ugly loner, and they cheated us out of our money that we paid for the nicer couch. I have followed up mulitple times to which they keep promising delivery for the following weekend and then no one shows. They have not offered to waive any fees or do anything for us for our inconvenience. I cant even cancel the order and go buy a couch elsewhere because we paid upfront and we have this ugly loner couch. I can honestly say I have never had such terrible customer service as this nightmare has been and would NOT recommend them, no matter how good the price.

Very dissatified with the management/service from store #111 in Fredericksburg Virgina!I purchased a bedroom set with box/spring and mattress in OCT.2012 and still waiting for them to pick up and refund MY account.Not in someone elses name,but mine!Ive been told they cant correct the account and I must except a check in another persons name and have it signed and put in my account.What part of look at your store VIDEO and see whom purchased the set and WHO has signed all paper work and WHY must this happen?Then to top it off when I choose the bedroom set it came with a 5 drawl chest that I never recieved and was stold they never had it in there store.However myself and my husband saw the chest at time of sale and this has never been corrected! And now the manager has said "Its like a BANK ACCOUNT and I shouldnt even be talking to you!"What and How does this happen?I will never walk in another VALUE CITY STORE to look at nothing EVEN if it was for FREE! I have given several employees and management MY name and phone number on several times and they still call another number to speak to ME?Now I have contacted corporate and waiting on responce.This has been a terrioble 3 months and a waste of $3000.00!Plus Ive slept on an AIR MATTRESS sence,WHAT part of get it right dont they GET!! AWFULL experience

These people are true rip offs . Will never buy nothing else from them. Bought a dinning room set . When I bought it they told me I could pay extra at any time but when we called to make payments they said we could not pay extra. And then when we go to pay it off there balance was like 160.00 more than what I figured with payment receipts in hand come to find out they charge me $20 a payment for Insurance. I paid off in 3 months and a $1100 cost me almost $1900. They are very shady. If I would of not payed off in 3 months the total would have been $4900. Dont know how these Crooks sleep at night. NEVER AGAIN. I also asked for corporate information and all they could give me was # no name no email. I am totally not done with this.I may not get money back but will definitely will keep calling until i get some answers. May even protest in front of thier store

We purchased a bedroom suite and are very happy with our purchase. Our salesman, Asil was very knowledgeable and professional. Beyonca, our cashier was very professional and pleasant! Its stressful making such a big purchase and trying to decide which suite we liked the best, Asil was considerate and gave my husband & I time to consider and discuss our options. We truly appreciated that he was not hovering over and pressuring us. We will definitely be back to make future purchases! The delivery men were professional, efficient and quick! They made sure we were satisfied with the way our furniture was set up before they left our home! There was not one piece of packaging left behind, thanks again for having such curteous employess!

Spent around $2100 on a bed and dresser. When i first ordered they said everything would arive at one time in a week or so, besides a mirror for the dresser. I received the bed on time and when i asked where the dresser was the delivery driver told me it would take another two weeks, to call the store and talk to them. I figured i wouldnt get anywhere by calling so i figured id just wait for it to arrive. Two weeks later, the day before it was scheduled to arive i get a call saying it wouldnt be to there warehouse for another 15 days, and the lady says theres no guarantees. Ended up hav i ng my money refunded. Huge waiste of time and if it wouldnt be an even bigger inconvenience i would tell them to come and get there bes too.
