There are no other stores like this in Fredericksburg. Atleast not that I am aware of that is. However the selection of vinyl is so slim I wouldnt call it a record store at all. There are more clothes and old video games than anything else and all of which as incredibly overpriced. If you want to pay $35-$50 for items you could just as easily find at Goodwill for $5 then this is the store for you! If you want to pay two to three times as much for a video game you could purchase off of ebay of less with shipping included then give this place a shot! If you like graphic novels and vintage action figures and vinyl records that are in poor condition with huge creases, rips and that have seen a lot of use being sold for their cover price or more then stop on by! Granted the artwork they had was very cool but then again that is from a local artist and doesnt really represent their selection of music or games. It is a store with a lot of wasted space selling hardly any product, all of which is overpriced. But then again, if you dont have any other options I guess you have to take what you can get. I am sorry for you poor folks in Fredericksburg, you mine as well go to Baltimore and give the Soundgarden a visit sometime. Now that is a music store!

No Name

I have been going to Hooked, formerly Horseshoes & Handgrenades, since they first opened up in downtown Fred and I cant overstate enough the quality of the establishment. These folks have always ensured that they carry products of only the highest caliber by having actual face to face interaction with their clientele - they listen to their customers. Great selection of items both retro and modern, including everything from cameras and video games to vinyl and hair pomades. Hooked does downtown Fred a service more so than just providing quality and unique goods though; it is part of a larger movement to revitalize our downtown area while retaining a unique authenticity. Reminds me of the old Blue Dog record shop on Caroline. Helpful and laid-back staff, top notch product, locally owned and operated, whats not to love?

They hired my company to design their website. Absolutely the nicest people in the world. Cool, laid back. Great selection of amazing vintage products. They showed me a Nintendo 3D machine that was a short-lived product 15 years ago. They have lots of unusual stuff like that, and its all in great condition. I am a fan of retro and vintage merchandise so I really appreciate their whole vibe. They have a huge selection of hundreds of video games for Nintendo, Atari, and other systems. You walk in and theres always some cool music playing from a vinyl record. Friendly customer service and a relaxed atmosphere. Highly recommended.

This is a fantastic throwback store! I went in and the people were super friendly and helpful. The video game selection was pretty good. They didnt have a ton on SNES or 64 games, but thats fine. The game prices not overly expensive they were where they should be. Sage Mantis has a better selection of games, but they have no service and want way to much money for the games. Hooked is so much better.

Kind of a fun place to shop around in. Very very very "hipster". Like, there is a Nintendo for sale. And tapes. and records. A little overly funky for me, but still an interesting place to look around and if that vintage dress had fit me just a liiittle bit better I would have bought it! haha

Its a fun store to find cute little finds but prepare to pay a pretty penny. They are the most expensive when it comes to vinyls and old gaming gear in town. Their clothes are cute but I can find a lot of the same things in Goodwills. You just have to prepare to look haha
