Rising Smeef

It was a nicely set-up store, with everything being very spacious unlike many hobby shops Ive visited in recent history. Items are marked up somewhat, and they are limited on parts. Theyve got a good selection of tires, and batteries. I asked the man at the desk if they carried Futaba transmitters. The guy goes "Futabas a great company, Ive loved them since I was a kid" then proceeded to show me their stock of Spektrum transmitters and said that he could order the Futaba if I wanted. They carried a good amount of RCs, and had many other sections for different hobbies. Overall, 3/5

Not the best selection for RC airplanes ... I asked if they carried servos and the employee at the desk said "servos for what?" They only carry JR & Futaba servos and gave the standard "we can order it for you" response when I asked about a standard sized HS-422. The small parts selection included large wall of Dubro parts, but they only had ~7 rolls of covering (no white?). The glue rack was fairly demolished. This is a much better place for maintenance of ARFs rather than kit or scratch builders. For a much better local hobby shop for aircraft, go to Hobby Hangar.

Amazing place for the R/C hobby. The staff are very helpful and have very useful advice. They will even help you choose the part with the proper specifications for your application. They have a good selection of tools and parts, and if they dont have something, they can order it and it will arrive shortly after. Yesterday I was getting some servo arms, but I 15 minutes late, and they reopened the store while I got what I needed. This is my favorite store to go to, and I highly recommend this for any hobbyist.

Supplies for a variety of hobbies and interest from Model Rockets & RC Aircraft to Thomas the Train Engine (heaven help us all) and lots in between. May not have specific item for a special project but will find out if it is available for you and order it if you want it. Good sized floor space is divided up between many hobbies. Friendly, knowledgable staff, locally owned and operated, generous with information and advice. Fantastic place for odd ball gifts.

Wonderful experiences. We have visited their store about 10-15 times in the last few months. They have been extremely helpful in providing advice to my son as he learns to fly and build RC planes. Just yesterday, they reopened the store 15 mins after they closed to let us in to buy a quick part. I highly recommend this shop. Their encouragement and sharing of knowledge with my son has surely fueled his interest.

I recently found this store about a month ago and have bought a number of large items. Ive been extremely impressed with the customer service from everyone that works here and am definitely surprised by some of the other negative reviews. Ive thought of buying some of the items online but the great customer experience and good price matching has kept me coming back. Very impressed!

They have a great staff and are always there to help. They are very friendly and knowledge about their products. I have been to Hobby Hanger in Chantilly, I grew up with them. They dont offer rewards for purchasing and the last few visits I have made the staff wasnt very friendly. I will continue to go to Hobby Works.

A very pretty toy store on Main St of city Fairfax featuring model trains, cars, puzzles, books and other cute products to happily fulfill your spare time. The store is not too cramped and the staff is very knowledgeable especially if you can’t find a perfect gift for your loved ones.

this is a decent enough place. you can find a little of this and that, meaning they are sort of the jack of all trades, ace of none. that being said they have a good selection of hobby items and toys for younger kids.

Theyve been there a long time and have had decent staff in the past. Todays staff is very knowledgeable and very helpful. Bruce manages the place very well and is accommodating to a lot if different hobbyists.

Bought a Super S Cub RTF here, elevator wasnt working right.. safe wasent working.. they opened it up and found a piece of tape stuck on the servo... glued the engine back down for me.. great crew here A++.

Great stock of hobby supplies, model train sets, diorama supplies, childrens toys and Warhammer products. Staff is friendly and knowledgeable, helpful and polite. They truly love the products they carry.

The men in this place are incredibly condescending. Very rude to my son. condescending and unhelpful. The items are low quality but talked up by professional know it alls. $$$$$$$$

The folks there care ONLY about the sale, and how fast they can make the sale. And there are some mighty strange folks working there, I would not want my kids in there alone.

We have been going to this store for 12 months. We love these guys, they could not be more helpful and even taught my son and I how to play Warhammer. Why go anywhere else?

Good selection of everything "hobby", but master of none. Rc products were extremely marked up, and most parts needed had to be ordered. It was fun to take the kids though.

Call ahead to make sure the store is open. Clerks keep "flexible" hours. Ive wasted too much time waiting outside this closed store long after the posted opening time!

Staff are usually nice but if you are going for trains, expect mark ups of at least 25%, sometimes more, and there is no used stock.
