Lets be honest, NO ONE likes car shopping. It always seems to take way longer than necessary, with a mind numbing back and forth on unnecessary details. Why cant we call a dealership, tell them the car we want, and how much we want to pay for it, and go pick it up and sign on the dotted line. That was LITERALLY what happened at Rosenthal VW. I submitted an inquiry on a 2015 GTI S, and as you can imagine, I was immediately bombarded by calls from just about every dealer in the area. I was very clear about my terms, most important being the price, color and lighting package...these were my deal breakers. When I got the call from John Hulme, he told me that he had the car I wanted and that he was pretty sure he could beat the interest rate promised by my credit union. After fielding calls from a few more dealerships, and finding out that they had the car I wanted...but not in the right color, or without the lighting package, or it was actually 180 miles away, I decided to go with the honest sounding man at Rosenthal VW in Fairfax. When I walked in the door, John immediately called for a salesperson to help me. While he went to track someone down, Phill, another salesperson, was very pleasant and began to talk to us about the car we were looking for, and further reiterated that they had it. Our salesperson, Bill Brayer, retrieved the keys for two different models, an SE and the S we originally came in to see. Of course, the first ride was in the higher model, but we were immediately driven to the extension lot where the S was located. We went on a test drive and went back inside to talk numbers. From start to finish, we could tell that everyone involved wanted to make sure we got the best deal possible on this car; and they really did. We left feeling like wed gotten the best deal possible, and that all options were explored to make sure that happened. We didnt feel "sold", we felt cared for. I highly recommend this dealership. John and Bill made the potentially horrific experience, pleasant and rewarding. Ive never been happier to hand over a quarter years salary (smile).

The worst experience I ever had! I went this place on a Saturday afternoon and tried to get to know the Tiguan and have a test drive. The staff who talked to me was a black "gentlemen", at least he looks like. However, when I talked to him, he was kind of absent-minded, left hand under the table seems like scratching his leg. After the talking, we went to the parking place and had the drive test. He just gave me the key and offered a 15 second "detailed" introduction about the car, and then tried to leaving. I asked him:"are u going to stay in the car with me?" Guess what he said, "No, you can drive by yourself and have a short test". WTF, WTF, I said I never drive this car before and not familiar with the car and surrounding area conditions, it might cause accident and lost my way. And he replied he would back soon cause he has other clients in that time. So I just stayed at that damn car for almost 10 mins alone by myself. I was so pissed off and angry. So I went back and returned the key, and found out that staff who I talked with was happily talking with three his "favorite" clients. I went to Toyota, Mazda, Subaru dealers, and never been treated like this. Let alone the quality of the car, only this kind of low standard purchasing services made me double what kind of service will be after I buy the car?? And the declining volkswagen market selling also proves my points that how to sell more cars with this kind of awful service. You may have your own "experience" and "views" about who gonna be mostly like to buy a car, but never to underestimate and treat each one different. I have already moved on the Tiguan, even though I did not have the test drive.

I was looking for a Jetta TDI Cup and Fairfax offered $300 under the dealer that had previous given me a quote "if I purchased that day." I went in to purchase, got most of the paperwork done, told them I wanted VW credit 1.9%. They ran my credit through 2 other agencies before VW Credit. They also "didnt have the key" to get the car out of the show room, so I couldnt test drive and had to return the next day to pick it up since the manager was too lazy to come back to work and bring the key. I was not offered road hazard, which I would have liked to purchase. After purchase, I drove the car and kept feeling like it pulled to the right, but thought it could be sloped roads, or just me. Finally I got a good drive on the interstate to let me know it was in fact pulling. I took it to the closest VW dealer and it turns out it was out of alignment, and since it wasnt discovered in test drive, it would have to be paid for and the original dealer reimburse me. Fairfax did not want to do this, as the other dealership could be "lying" and wanted me to bring it to them to look at. The diffuser is deformed (likely from heat) and has to be replaced, and I found leaves in the window seal. According to Fairfax VW and the salesman, the car was always in the showroom. I cant see how all of this can happen in less than 250 miles. The manager is only looking to sale a car, not to gain a "customer." I will never be returning to this dealership.

I traveled 4 hours from Virginia Beach to purchase my Certified Jetta from Rosenthal, solely for the fact that it was the only Manual Jetta with the options I wanted, in the color I wanted, in the entire state of Virginia. Overall, I was impressed with the exceptional service given by Dennis on the used sales team. Dennis and the sales managers were very polite and courteous and tailor-made the deal to fit my schedule, which included placing a hold on the vehicle until I could make it to the dealership the next day. When I arrived the next morning, the vehicle was waiting outside the dealership for me, warmed up and everything, ready to test-drive and look over. The team decided to accept an "out-the-door" number and stuck by it the whole time. Dennis was even nice enough to call the previous owner of the vehicle to retrieve the second key and saved me about $350. However, I feel that for a cash deal, the process took far too long to complete. There was a lot of shuffling between the three dealerships on the property. Papers to sign in the Honda dealership, Papers to sign in the Volvo dealership, then finally, tax and titling, etc and payment in the VW dealership. Overall, the process took about 5 hours, vice the 2 hours that it should have taken. However, for the exceptional service that I received, I can stand an extra 3 hours of my life. I would recommend Rosenthal over and over again. Ask for Dennis!

I recently just got a great lease deal on a 2015 Jetta Sport at Fairfax Volkswagen. From the time I walked into the door until I was handed the keys to my new Jetta I received exceptional customer service!! Since I was traveling from Baltimore I spoke with Fawad before I came to let him know exactly what I was looking for. When I arrived he had two cars parked in the front to show me the different models, colors, and to let me test drive them. They let me test drive by myself--which is always nice. NO pressure! :) After test driving the Jetta SE and the Jetta Sport I came to a decision on the Sport. However, the only colors they had were red and gray - I wanted black. Fawad took the time to find me the black Jetta Sport in only one day! Before driving back out to Fairfax he had me get as much information and paperwork done so that it would be a quick process once I got there. When I arrived my car was sitting out front detailed and ready to go! The paperwork was quick. Tony Weist made sure the finance part was very clear to me considering this was my first time leasing a car on my own. He was great! Don, my salesman, was extremely helpful! He explained all the bells and whistles to me before I drove off and made sure everything was perfect. Thank you to everyone at Fairfax Volkswagen for making my first leasing experience great!! I will definitely be recommending and sending people your way! :)
