This dealerships negligence almost killed me and my family. I bought a used, lifted 2014 Wrangler Unlimited in August. Third day after having the Jeep, my family and I drove to Hagerstown. We didnt make it considering the left rear wheel came off at 65 mph on the highway. The Jeep was towed back to the dealership and they reluctantly replaced the wheel, tire and bolts after accusing me of messing with it. After a week I got the Jeep back. I have always had some shimmy in higher speeds, I figured it was cause I was driving a lifted box on big tires. I got the oil changed for the first time at Jiffy Lube because it was a pain to get an oil change scheduled with Tate. In January I prescheduled my first oil change and tire rotation, since i was supposed to get the first two years of regular maintenance with the vehicle purchase. I took the Jeep out and drove it 30 miles and brought it back due to an extreme wobble. I asked them to make sure the front tires were balanced. 15 minutes later the guy comes back and said the tires are balanced and they could not find any safety issue with the vehicle. He then proceeded to say i had some cupping on the oversized tires and to let it break in for a couple of hundred miles. 300 miles later I got fed up and took it to Pep Boys and asked them to balance the front tires. They pulled off the driver front tire (the one Tate originally replaced) and it was 20oz out. The guy said 5oz out you will notice a wobble. The poor guy in the Pep Boys shop spent 30 minutes balancing it. No wonder Tate didnt want to do their job right. After Pep Boys fixed Tates mess, the Jeep drives great on the highway at higher speeds. I left a message with the Tate GM, explaining my displeasure and disgust in the exhibited incompetence of Tate. I then went in today in an effort to get reimbursed for the balancing fee i was charged by Pep Boys. I spoke to the service manager who conveniently could find no record of me asking for my tires to be balanced. I pointed out the guy who told me it was balanced and the manager called him in to question him. The kid lied, I called him a liar. I then told the service manager that we should severe our relationship because I felt Tate could not effectively or safely service my vehicle. I would now like the value of my guaranteed two years of service. I asked for the GM. This little fellow comes in in an oversized clown suit and proceeds to rant about how they shouldnt have replaced the wheel and tire and that MD State Inspection didnt require them to check it and I wasnt getting anything from Tate.

Although my salesman was a very nice guy, overall satisfaction with Tate in Frederick Maryland gets a "Zero". I bought a used car, had it for two months and the pressure plate, and entire clutch went out. Even though I was still under the 3 month/3,000 mile Warranty, of course nothing was covered. I first called Tate and then went in person to talk to them about repairing the car. When I asked to speak with a Manager, they sent me to the Used Car Sales Manager. I drove across the parking lot to talk with him and was greeted with an immediate attitude. After asking multiple times for a listing of what was covered under the Warranty, I could never get a straight answer. My only choice per the Sales Manager was to pay to have it towed to them and they would then submit the repairs to Chrysler to see if it would be covered. And of course, nothing was and now they want me to give them approximately $2,000.00 more to fix the car. I would never, ever refer anyone to this dealership. I now have a car sitting in their parking lot in which I will have to get towed yet again to get repaired as they are asking a ridiculous amount of money to repair. Didnt even offer a discount... Wow. Trust and believe I will be letting everyone I know about Tate in Frederick! Happy New Year! Be Careful Before You Decide To Buy From Tate - Frederick, MD.

My husband and I were just looking at availability and pricing for a truck purchase in the near future. We had gone to Car Max down the street and NO one would talk to us so we left. We came across Tate Used Cars just down the street. What got our attention was the $3000 guaranteed trade sign. We went in and found a truck that interested us and we were approached by Jamie. He answered all of our questions, was very nice and professional but most of all NOT pushy!! We explained to him that we were just out to see what was and looking at pricing on a 4 WD Chevrolet Silverado 1500. We were however very interested as the truck they had was exactly what my husband wanted right down to the options it had. We went in to talk about the pricing and I was giving my terms on the payment and down payment we were looking for, which were very low so it would make it very easy to walk away. Well between Jamie and Paul not only did they get us the payment we were looking for but the terms and then some. So we could not walk away. They were GREAT!!!!! They stayed almost 2 hours late so we could take the truck home that night We will definitely go back and buy other cars from them. If you are looking for great people to buy a car from go to Tate used cars of Frederick and ask for Jamie. We now have a beautiful truck!!! Thank you so much Jamie & Paul

I received a recall notice on my 2012 Jeep Grand Cherokee in May for a Totally Integrated Power Module which could fail. They didnt have the parts in and said I would be notified when they were available. In July I called FCA Recall headquarters to find out what was going on. I was told that I would be notified when the part was in and would be put on a priority list. Finally I got another letter from FCA stating it was in as well as a priority email. When I called Tate Jeep service department in Frederick Maryland and spoke to "Chris" in the service department I was told that they didnt have any parts left and would be another 7 to 10 days to order them. I told explained to him I would be out of town for that entire week and wasnt there anything he could do to expedite it? The recall said the car can just stop working any time and it could be a hazard. I told him I would be pulling a boat for several hundred miles and was concerned about the Jeeps reliability. The only response I received was a curt 7 to 10 days thats it. He seemed irritated with the request did absolutely nothing to even try to help out and just repeated the 7 to 10 days. While I was continuing to speak with him he abruptly just hung up the phone. This is not the type of "customer service" one expects from this company.
