After a long tiring day of figuring out what I wanted the process was straight forward and orderly. I didnt sense any underhanded dealings at this dealership. I have had my car for a week now and I love it!! I did do my homework and checked the car out while I was there. A day after I decided to take her home I took it to an auto shop to get a second opinion & it is a winning. The only thing I would say about DriveTime is that most if not all of there cars have high miles to be updated models. And to my understanding most of the cars are fleet vehicles or was rentals in which is not always bad thing because my last car I had (not from them) was a rental car from enterprise and it lasted me 9 yrs. until I decided to get sale it. My suggestion is to do your homework when buying a car and on the car(s) you are interested in buying first before stepping foot in ANY dealership. That way you will have an idea what to look for and expect in the car buying process. Also invest in bring a mechanic with you or take the car to an auto shop to have them look over it before making a finally decision. This is a costly investment and you dont want to be stuck with a hunk of junk for the next 3-5 yrs. With DriveTime they have a 5 business day policy to make sure this is the car you want to invest in. If not you can bring it back with in that time frame to get something else or your money back. Yes, it is a little time consuming, it may take a while to narrow down your decision, and may cost a few dollars upfront but TRUST me, it will pay of in the long run. And finally like all cars it is very important to keep up with the maintenance on the car! If you dont your car will not last you as long whether it has high miles or low miles and you will be right back at square one. So please maintain the vehicle after your purchase. Dont get me wrong the people there (Tony and Rami) were nice and friendly, but ive had nothing but problems with the cars I got from this drivetime. I first got the 2013 Chevy Spark.. The third day I had it, it wouldnt start so I had to take it to the shop... Well they thought they fixed the problem but no it did the SAME THING the next morning!!! And because we had to wait on parts my 5 days were up and they assured me it wouldnt be a problem and so I go to trade it for another car and I get peoblems from them. Well finally they let me switch cars so I get the 2013 Kia Rio... To have problems start with this car AGAIN 3 DAYS AFTER I LEFT THE LOT... To find out there is 600+ dollars worth wrong with this car. The guy at the kia dealer said to me im shocked you were able to drive it because the rear BREAKS are really bad to the point it will start damaging the rotors. Which would cost me an extra 1000.00$ and the front sway bar on the right side was shot along with the back break caliber going bad. Luckly the caliber and sway bar are under kia warrenty.. But the other 610.00 i have to pay out of pocket for to get it fixed. Its RIDICULOUS! Today is day 5 with this 2nd car but if I was going to switch cars no telling whats wrong with the next.. I dont know what the passing test is to get it to pass in order to sell it, but you all didnt check this car very clearly and should not have sold it in its condition. I will be advising people I know not to buy from drivetime.

I went to look for a car for my daughter. She filled out an application online and went to a dealership in Richmond. They didnt have any vehicles on the lot. My daughter came home to Hampton Roads and we call the Chesapeake store. We spoke to Monique. She assured us the had vehicles on the lot. When we arrived she immediately acknowledged us at the door. She was very friendly and welcoming. She had all the paper work pulled up and she completed paperwork that wasnt completed from the other location. She showed us vehicles and went with us on test drives. This was my daughters first time purchasing a vehicle. She made the process very easy and she was honest and upfront about the terms and the payments and options. This was not my first time purchasing a vehicle and I can say this was the best experience, upfront with the terms, payments no haggling or, deception. Monique even went above and beyond to add coolant to the vehicle herself! They filled the car up with gas too. I just purchased my Mercedes and the dealership there would not fill my tank up....... I would recommend anyone to go in a speak with Monique! She was great! The Drive Time experience at Military Hwy in Chesapeake, Virginia was great!

Wish i never had a car loan with them! paying 13,000.00 for a 2008 Jetta thats worth 3.000.00 do your research before you end up like me paying 350.00 a month for a worthless car MY response: Thank you for taking the time to write me back in such a timely matter! The main reason im so upset is i didnt know that the car i paid so much money for i could of bought on craigslist for the down payment i used to get the car in the first place. I feel very taken advantage of. I am a very young female who knows absolutely nothing about cars! I also had no clue of how may years this loan was for. They continued to say "short term loan." Finally got around to calling, then asked about doing a trade in and was told no not until my loan is under 4,500.00. That would mean i have paid 8,500.00 for that worthless car that not even worth 3.000.00. My DOWN payment was 2,000.00 ive paid 8,000 already !

I just wanted to say that this Drivetime over in Chesapeake VA is awesome! I was unemployed for three months and I got in touch with this amazing guy Rami Al-Chacar. He would call me about every two weeks to check up on me and would always ask "Was there anything I could help you with?" I have to say he never gave up on me. He kept my spirit up and gave me confidence not to give up. I dont know if you know what TEAMWORK means but today on this date at 8:29pm the whole drivetime team helped me get my car today. They worked really hard, bought me to tears in a good way because my dreams Ive been waiting for 3 months became a reality. Rami doesnt give up on you. Please come see him and I promise he can make your dreams be a reality too. All you need is the right person with a good heart and understand. Thank you Rami and the Drivetime team for making my dreams finally reach the sky.

I have been a customer of DriveTime since 06/07. My first car was a Saturn, great condition and it gave me no issues. Due to lack of maintenance, it broke down in 2008. I got it repaired enough to drive it short distances, and then found that I qualified for the Champion Program. I traded in my Saturn and got a 2006 Kia Spectra in 2009. Once again, the car was in great condition. Over the years, I have had some financial woes but DriveTime has always worked with me and helped me through. Yesterday, I received a call that I once again qualified for the Champion Program - no money down, trade in the Kia and get a new car. I went last night and got a 2008 Toyota Camry! I am in love with my new car and the extended warranty. Thank you so much DriveTime for the many years of faithful service. I look forward to many more years with you because you have been wonderful to me!
