I contacted this dealership, Twin Pine Auto Group located at 1928 W. Main St., Ephrata, PA 17522, about a 2012 Mini Cooper that I originally found on Car Gurus. The dealership is about an hour and a half away so we needed to have everything agreed upon before getting to the dealership. I will say, the attitude of dealership IMMEDIATELY WAS not in the best interest of me, the customer. I had quoted a price from the Internet they had posted. They seemed annoyed? It was if they acted like they didnt want my business! They mentioned that the price online was extremely low to begin but they guess they would honor the price. The reason why I even mention this is because I felt like they didnt want to sell the car to me. They mentioned numerous, numerous times that they could get more for the car from someone else. Regardless, we agreed on the terms for this vehicle site unseen and sent check overnight to them. (We did our due diligence and homework on the Mini Cooper and paid for a Car Fax report. They wouldnt provide one and told me I would have to go online and purchase one myself. They did tell me to go online and find their Auto Check report which isnt the same! They gave us the address where to send the check and wanted to confirm where to send the buyers order. We were paying for the car in its entirety and for the price they agreed upon -in full! The last text I received was from Salesman, Jon Horst; "I will let you know we the check clears" Needless to say; first thing the very next morning I received a text from Jon :"Im sorry Catherine but we sold the car this morning and we will be sending you back your check." I responded "That isnt cool at all I thought we had a deal ?" This isnt how a reputable business does business" he replied "I told you several times that we do not hold vehicles. We would have pulled it off the lot when we received payment." --- THIS IS NOT COOL!! we werent having the car held - we were purchasing it for the entire amount that they agreed upon! I originally was working with one salesman then the finance manager (we decided NOT to finance due to a much higher interest rate than what Is currently being offered for the area) and then was working with Jon. This entire transaction went on for days with numerous phone calls and many texts. Bottom line : -We agreed to a price -They accepted it -They asked for payment and where to send payment - We sent the check per their instructions -They sold the car to someone else Clearly this isnt a reputable dealership. They dont stand by their word AT ALL . With that said; you would think that being located in the Lancaster PA region their professionalism and ethical standards would mirror the area and mirror all their many MANY competitors. Think twice before doing business with this dealership! Everyone should know how Twin Pine Auto Group treats their customers! There are far too many reputable dealerships with higher standards and practices.

I never received a notification that the owner replied to ,y honest review. I couldn’t believe what he said! Response from the owner 2 years ago Brad, We checked on the numbers you stated on your review and found that you have been dishonest and they are not the real numbers. Shame on you. We have become the largest retailer on vehicles in the area by being honest, trustworthy, treating people fairly, and always giving people the best deal the first time and not haggling about numbers. I always treat our customers the same way I would want to be treated. I am sorry that you are upset because you did not get what you wished for, I hope you are satisfied with whatever you decided to purchase. Sincerely, Gary Zimmerman, President My Original Review. Stopped by to look at a truck. 2.5k Low balled under blue book on trade in, no warranty on a truck with 45k miles, refused to repair dents and dings. Drove down the street to another dealer. Looked at the same truck with 22k miles, a year newer and a 100k warranty for 5k less and a 3k higher trade in value. Reasons given on low ball offer "A lot of these are coming off leases right now". lol? Response to Gary. I got exactly what I asked for at another dealer the same day. I was completely honest with my numbers. In fact, I followed up with documentation to support what I communicated. Let’s see you do the same. Still driving this truck today, love it. Still under warranty too. You should tell your sales there is a factory warranty which covered the truck I looked at there. He wasn’t aware of that. I have no doubt as the owner this is how you perceive your business and how you want it to run. In this case, the salesmen I had, communicated those numbers, and communicated my experience was above. While you dont have control of this and these things happen. Who can really fault you for something like that? I mean It happens, it’s cool. But calling a customer a liar, then going so far to say they were upset because they didnt get the deal they want. Something like that just doesnt happen. "Shame" on you for lying about my character without having all the facts and lack of documentation to support your claim. Speaking of which you claim you have become the largest dealer in the area. Define the area for this claim along with a CRM export of sales so we do a comparison to validate yet another one. We look forward to the documentation review Gary. I hope why I bought the truck from another dealer that day is a little more clearer to you. You should go back and review your other customer relationships with people that have negative reviews and review your conduct. In most cases these can be resolved without taking it to a unprofessional level. I cannot directly reply to your follow. Google Reviews doesnt have that functionality. I selected and attached my deal to this review. I provided the documentation here, we can review your findings here.

I initially had a great feeling about Twin Pine Auto Group, but ran into a couple of reg flags throughout the sales process. I am glad that I gave my business to a different dealership, because I did not feel as though Twin Pine Auto Group was being honest. First off, I have to say that the sales team is very positive and friendly. The salesman that I worked with even let me take the car for a few hours during the day. They are more than willing to give their time. So willing, that I was persuaded to sit down and talk numbers twice with them, each of which times I was given the exact same pitch (basically a script due to the no haggle pricing). Twin Pine Auto Group is very much a no haggle business. I respectful this style, but I did hope that they would reconsider their asking price if it was indeed not competitive. And here come the red flags. The first red flag that I ran into was that the car was not listed as having an odor, but it smelled of smoke. The sales team offered to have the car cleaned a second time, but did not compromise on the asking price. After declining their offer and continuing to research, I found very similar models for better pricing in and around the area (several that were about $1,500 lower for very similar models). When I made Twin Pine Auto Group aware of these offers, they did not re-evaluate their prices with the information. They actually told me that they contacted or looked into the best offer that I found and they said that the car had been in an accident. I later looked at the carfax and visited the other dealership to find this to be false. I did not confront Twin Pine Auto Group about this information, because I assumed they would have some excuse for the mistake, and honestly I didnt want to hear about it. In the following weeks, the salesman that I worked with continued to call and try to set me up for an appointment for every phone call. I can only assume that with this appointment I would have received the same sales pitch that I had already received twice. Further, it actually turned out that Kelly Blue Book value continued to decrease by close to $1,000 in the following month, but the asking price still did not decrease as I continued to receive phone calls. At the end of the day, the car was not priced well enough for me to buy. Twin Pine Auto Group could have had my business if they gave me a couple hundred dollars off, making what I could at least swing as a fair price for both parties. Either way, I didnt push it, and I ended up closing a deal that was 10 times better at a different dealership. My advise is, give Twin Pine Auto Group a chance if you would like to. They are friendly and professional, but do your research and be very careful that they dont slip anything by you.
