Happy new year everyone, first of all I hate to even give this place one star. In July of 2016 I drove to Virgina from Pennsylvania to visit a friend in the Navy. While down there I traded my Dodge diesel for a 2008 Ford f250 diesel at surfside auto on July 19th. 2 days after owning the truck I started having issues with my high pressure fuel pump so they said theyd have it flashed the following week due to my work schedule I had to return home and my friend I was visiting would just drive my truck to our hometown in PA when it was finished and I was assured by surfside auto it would be made right so my truck could make it home with no problems as it should... Well it didnt.. Upon my friend (who drives like miss Daisy) driving it home for me was left stranded 4 hours from my house because it wouldnt run. So once again I called my salesman and I was told he talked to his boss and told me get it to a shop and theyll make it right. So after paying 500 to have it towed to a shop the mechanics noticed it had melted injectors. Wondering how they melted And doing more looking they noticed a new fuel cooler was installed but never filled with coolant so i call once again and was told their service shop had done work to the cooler on my truck and maybe theyre the ones who should be responsible...a week later after wondering whos paying 1500 for new injectors surfside told me well were sorry you just drove it too far nothing we can do. EVEN THOUGH THEY TOLD ME IT WOULD BE TIP TOP READY TO GO TO PENNSYLVANIA! Well more diagnostics have been done to my truck and Im looking at about 10-11 thousand dollars in parts and labor just so I can drive the truck I paid $27,000 for. Im a small town guy raising a family so sadly I wont get to drive the truck i fell in love with in July for a very long time.. A place like this located right by armed services bases scares me because its bad enough I got shafted and I would hate to see it happen to someone serving our country. Between getting lied to, paying almost 30 grand for basically a 8,000 pound roller skate, and a dealer that In no way had any compassion for a paying customer Im sick to my stomach. I read their response to another review on here and they said they keep an open check book for after purchase concerns. But fellow buyers, just remember this review. Remember the guy who bought a truck from this place just to have to basically buy a whole new engine for it and they didnt even try to help. Maybe stop and think about a father who cant go out of his way and get his small kids all the stuff they want because hes gotta save 10-12 grand so he can actually drive the truck he pays 450 a month for. Dont make the same mistake I did ladies and gentlemen.. God bless and have a good one

When we purchased our Blazer from them right before they closed for the day, Toni even specifically spoke to us about giving them a call if anything went wrong in the first couple days. Warranty or not, she said theyd see what they could do for us provided we called first. At the time of purchase we were also told the AC compressor had just been replaced in the car. It worked fine on the 5 minute test drive. 12 hours later, after not being used except for the test drive, the AC isnt working. Toni never returned our calls, and it took two days for my husband to get in contact with her. Their mechanic tried only once to fill it with coolant in front of my husband. When that didnt work, he declared that it was the compressor and deflected to Toni. We were told the next day that the best they could offer us was to pay half of the cost to replace the compressor again. Thankfully, my husband is a pretty handy guy because he was able to get coolant in it and replace the compressor himself. Which, we discovered, was not a new part. We were discussing buying our next truck from them after the initial purchase, but not anymore. Theyre an alright place, but I would be wary of purchasing from them. Updated 6/25: I had initially rated this company as 2 stars but would now give them 0 if I could. As we finished up fixing the AC issues ourselves, we discovered that there is NO oil in the car. A car that was described to us as having been looked over by their mechanic and in good enough condition to pass state inspection. We should have taken the defensiveness over the quality of their cars as a sign. I personally will never, EVER be buying from this company again, and would HIGHLY recommend that anyone who considers doing so have the car checked over by a third-party mechanic they trust because words apparently dont mean anything anymore.

I waited to write a review because I wanted to own the truck for three months before I shared my experience at Surfside Auto Company. Kelly was my salesperson. He was very cordial and professional. He did not apply pressure and focused on what I wanted. I was looking for a stock, un-lifted, un-tuned heavy duty truck for towing. I found some issues with the body on the truck that was right for me, but, Surfside took care of the body repair without changing our agreed upon price. They have a relationship with a body shop around corner from their lot that did the work. As of now, I have not had any significant problems with the vehicle. I had to change out the AC controller ($140 on ebay), but, you have to expect things like that with a 212000 mile truck. If you expect perfection - new heavy duty trucks are available at the your local new truck dealership for $70000!!!! I have put about 1200 miles on the truck so far. The only recommendation I would make to Surfside is to provide some sort of warranty.....even if it is only 10 days. I came very close to not purchasing the vehicle because I felt extremely vulnerable knowing that the moment I drove the vehicle off of the lot, I was on my own. But after reading other reviews, I do see that they will either repair or help defray the cost of repair if you have a problem immediately after purchase. Overall, I would recommend Surfside to a friend.

Wrote some complaints on Facebook about the truck we purchased and the problems we had... but now there is more ! First the breaks stuck on the way home. No problem, they gladly fixed them....at some shotty shop......the calibers then fell off while driving it the next week! Then the spark plug went bad a week later and it began to backfire. They replaced ONE spark plug. We did the others. Less than a thousand miles after purchasing....our transmission has completely gone out of it. Driving up a bridge and it suddenly slips out of gear. No joke avoid this place like the plague. We have a truck that sits useless in our driveway while We attempt the cost of a transmission. I understand that its an as is truck dealer with no warranties...and I commend them for fixing the breaks (that later cost us roadside assistance) and that they were willing to find that ONE spark plug that caused the issue. HOWEVER, it wasnt worth our time or money! I bet i wont see them stepping up for a 4 thousand dollar transmission!! Surfside auto....you want to buy back this truck for what we paid you for it?? You would have to tow it back!
