I took several dozen books here in the hopes of selling. They were all released within the last year, most hardcovers, all by prominent authors of note in their field. Subjects ranging from Classic Fiction to Science Fiction to Contemporary Fiction. NO ROMANCE. I was told by the worker that they would not accept the books because they were romance books; when I pressed further because these were clearly not romance books, the worker explained that most books about women or with women main characters didnt sell so they wouldnt buy them. Now I cant fault the company for having restrictions, but having met all the guidelines provided by their website, Im a bit miffed that these books werent accepted. I hope in the future they may change their guidelines to allow some great new books to be sold, instead of shelves and shelves of just Stephen King and James Patterson. It would help if their workers were informed that just because a book was written by or about women, doesnt mean that the book is conaidered a "romance" book.

I was ready to throw in the towel and buy a Kindle when Borders closed. But then I wandered into Book Bank en route to lunch. This is now a weekly pilgrimage; amazing selection, helpful staff (great recommendations, knowledge of every type of literature). Just a block from the metro; lose the free weekly newspapers and see how much less depressing your commute is. Long live the book and long live Book Bank.

Don runs a great bookstore and its my late afternoon weekend hangout. A coffee bar would be a nice addition. This store has always been a great place to browse for unique books. The staff are all literate and can easily engage and direct shoppers to books on just about any topic. I trade in books I no longer need in exchange for new and interesting reads..........Francine N.

I love to shop there and go often. Discrete, tasty selection, fairly priced. Friendly, humorous, reasonably knowledgeable staff. No super expensive (e. g., $1000) volumes but lots in the $6-25 range, with signed copies, first editions etc. clearly set off. Sensibly organized, so its easy to browse. If you answer the riddle of the month, you get a free $1.00 book.

Fantastic location. Labeled and organized bookshelves are easy to manage. Prices fair. Only a four star rating due to the rather stiff and dry reception and interraction with the sales woman who only appeared bothered when asked for assistance in locating a title. Overall, titles and range of books are worth returning for.

Great store- I regularly go there and both bring in & buy books. They only take some of the ones I have, of course, but it makes refreshing my book supply from their selection even more affordable :) They get new stuff pretty often, so its worth repeat visits.

Great selection: literary criticism, philosophy, fiction, and poetry. Helpful staff. Challenging trivia questions. Good bluegrass and folk music. One of my favorite book stores in the DC area

I just noticed this bookstore recently and plan to keep stopping by. I love the little corner in the back filled with Fantasy, Sci-Fi, and Horror books. Great location and wonderful variety!

Unfortunately, the place was underwhelming and the smell was overpowering...moldy books & the urine/feces stench of the homeless people who walk in and around. Very unpleasant.

Great finds. Good prices. Nice to not have to drive to the "next town over" to find used books. A nice place to start a visit to Old Town...trolley stop right on the corner.

Looking for a book as my wife stopped, I found this place. And had a book in hand already as I walked in the door. Tons choices, very friendly and good old book atmosphere.
