Daedalus bookstore has allowed me to read and enjoy a much wider variety of books. I almost never pay full price for a book, and I borrow many books from the library. There was a used bookstore on Dobbin Rd in Columbia, but I think it closed. At Daedalus, I have purchased many fascinating books for 3.99 or 4.99 over the years, and expanded my mind. I am much more likely to take a chance on a book for 3.99 vs. list price of 24.99, especially in a category that I have not read before. I am retired and read a lot, so a trip to Daedalus every other month for a new stash of books is perfect. Some day I may get a Kindle, but Daedalus books are still cheaper in many cases. And I dont want to take a Kindle to the beach. With hardcopy books, I can pass them on to friends or donate the ones that I dont keep. It is a shame that the store in the city closed, that was a big loss to city folks.

I have been a Daedalus Books customer for many years. Im always poring over one of their catalogues, plotting my next purchase. (I mail-order from them. Shipping prices are very reasonable.) Daedalus has introduced me to many wonderful authors over the years, including Philip K. Dick, J. Sheridan Le Fanu, Edmund Crispin, Susanna Clarke, and D.J. Taylor. Their books are a fantastic deal (especially the fine art books). One of the things I love most about Daedalus is that they package the books carefully. Ive gotten to the point where I wont buy books from Amazon anymore because every hardcover I order from them arrives with a damaged book jacket -- either its ripped or crumpled up or the book cover itself is bent. In contrast, Daedalus books are carefully stacked and then wrapped in bubble-wrap and secured inside the box with cardboard and styrofoam. I really appreciate this.

I used to go to the store in the city every week. I am a self proclaimed bibliophage! At Daedalus I always find amazing books, new and old to add to my collection and I can afford to buy a huge stack because of the low prices compared to spending 24.99 on one book. I miss the city store but I plan on taking occasional trips out to Columbia to peruse the selection of books. Hopefully, I can go this weekend. The only problem I have is that it is too far for me to go frequently.

Book bargains in a friendly and unpretentious environment. Great, affordable childrens books, excellent Philosophy, History, LGBT books, and literary fiction sections. Their selection varies week-to-week, so its more a place to browse and see what you find rather than hunt down a specific book or edition. That said, I regularly find what I want there. Always worth a peek before I seek it out from more traditional sources. Highly recommended!

So. I went to the store and this one fat man walked up on a bruh bruh an said "hey the stores closed" ad my bruh bruh simply said "Then why are you here?". The man replied with "Im the manager and i do what i want" so we shot him. I didnt wanna have to do it but the fat man left my no choice.

Extraordinary prices, big selection and great music (to all you Beatles fans out there, this is the place to go). The books here are litterally never exceed $10. Most are around the $5 range. Great and friendly staff...like no other and huge selection. Id go here over BN any day.

Huge variety of books - history, fiction, music, culture, photography, philosophy, everything. Most are extremely cheap. Plenty under $5, many under $10. All are brand new with very minor damage (majority of books show no visible damage). Excellent place.

Love coming here. Very inexpensive book store, especially for new books. Its great to find books that you want here, however they have very small fantasy section. But otherwise they have a great collection of books.

Great source for discounted books, always guaranteed to find something interesting (even though you wont have luck if you come in looking for a particular book). I always come for 5 minutes and stay for an hour.

Great deals and variety of books. Doesnt have every book, tried to find 2 books and they didnt have them. But found lots of other books, great selection for kids books as well.

Excellent selection for a bargain bookseller. Best for older people and childrens books but there really is something for everyone. By far my favorite bookstore.
