Wow. The rudest shop in Salt Lake City. Horrible treatment of customers! I will NEVER step foot into IconoCLAD again. I walked in and was greeted and asked if I needed help with anything, I said thanks, but I am just looking (all of this transpired within less than a minute of walking through the door). as I got about 10 feet into the store I was told that I needed to give my purse (a very small backpack-doesnt even fit an Ipad in it!) to the person behind the counter. I had just cashed my paycheck and didnt feel comfortable giving that to a stranger. I looked around and saw that several people were walking around with their purses and bags....much,much bigger than mine by the way. So I said that I dont understand and pointed to the other patrons that had bags and purses and said that my backpack/purse is very tiny and I dont see why I had to give up my personal belongings to them when other people had their belongings? The girl behind the counter just mumbled something about "its policy" and "they walked in (or were busy and they walked in...?) so its policy". She said that twice. I was torn between wanting to shop and wary of strangers to give my purse to. Plus, all of this happened within 2 mins. of walking into the store. I didnt even get to look around! I then got angry, feeling like I was some thief or unwelcome because I was plus size or too old for their "hip, young clothing" I said that I didnt want to shop in a place that treated customers like that and walked out. I never got the chance to see if some sign was "posted" that you had to give up your personal belongings (like a purse or a small backpack) in order to shop. I felt like it was a personal attack because of my weight and my age. Or it was the worst policy in the world to make customers hand over their purses in order shop at a second-hand store! either way I was shocked by the stores treatment and it really made me feel rotten hours later. I didnt want to cry, but the personal attack was too obvious to deny. I had over 8 hundred dollars in my wallet and I was excited to shop at such a fun looking shop. I would have bought something and told all my buddies about it the great place I just found.....instead I walked out feeling awful and self conscious. Now I will let my buddies know to stay away from this place that makes instant judgement on who can shop there and give the sales staff freedom to make customers feel uncomfortable and judged. Way to ruin somebodys day.

Im not the biggest fan of wearing clothing that someone else most likely wore, you just never know what sort of actions were performed in a consigned pair of jeans, after much ponderation I thought it was much like sleeping in a hotel, the sheets aret new, but they sure do feel nice, and I always look a bit more business like hanging in my hotel room, Icono clad is a bit like that, yeah its consigned goods, but hell, that just means someone else liked it before you did, and isnt that what we want in life..to have everybody loves us? ;) All serious on the table, IconoClad is just a fun place to shop, I despise clothing shopping like internet trolls, but IconoClad has found a way into my heart, a fun store that has something for everyone, even your cat! Prices are nice to even you penny pinchers, not to mention its consignment! Bring that sweet rustic sweater your mom gave you for your bat mitzvah, and who knows you may have some cash to play with in a few days. I love this store, I typically drop in on a weekly basis to see whats new, on occasion they will have DJs playing and even free candy at the door, I love free, and candy... who the hell doesnt like candy. Def check them out! I would recommend IconoClad to anyone who has a soul.

Super amazing store and environment. When i walked in, i instantly felt welcome and in love with the store. The young ladies behind the counter asked for my backpack but thats understandable, most stores ask for mine. Once through the front area i was soon surrounded by the coolest store in the entire world. Very wide selection of clothes for men and women. The cats didnt give me much sass. Most felines hate me because of my large facial scar but these ones were tame and understanding. I found a couple fedoras that i had to buy for my collection and some matching boots to compliment them. Prices are incredibly reasonable. All of the employees have different hair colors, makes me want to dye my own. I will definitely be back with some of my own fedoras from my collection to try and consign, and the ladies told me if they dont sell after a certain time they will either donate them or give them back. I hope they sell, they deserve new heads to comfort. I cant believe I found this store, its literally less than a 5 minute walk from where I work, sooo close to downtown. Why shop anywhere else?

Nowhere else in town has this level of interesting clothing, for both men and women. The clientele they must have is incredible, given how quickly the rack items turn around. And affordable? There are things here that are less expensive than a thrift store. And Im not talking about one or two items. Anything thats been in the store for a month is *substantially* marked down. Not to mention, they give consigners considerably more money than just about anywhere else in town. And print "return customer" coupons worth 10 percent of your purchase, to use next time you come in. On top of all this, the customer service is simply superb. Not to mention you get a free puppy, kitty or dinosaur sticker at checkout, AND, because the shop owner has a radical gifting policy, they give away a clothing item (from the "Fun Dumpster") for FREE with any purchase. This is definitely my favorite clothing store in Utah. But it also may be my favorite store of *any* kind. Every day you dont check it out, youre basically robbing yourself.

iconoCLAD?? More like iconoRAD. The ladies working here are the sweetest and most adorable girls you will ever meet, for starters. Theyre all very unique and friendly, instead of the basic white-girl clones who seem to loathe their jobs that you find at a lot of clothing stores. The first time I walked in, the owner and one of the girls immediately made me feel at home, and threw some super awesome gothic clothing my way. Since then Ive found a handful of awesome secondhand pieces, and also made a bit of money selling some things myself. Plus there are kitties. /Kitties./ Need I say more? Oh, I do need to say more? Okay. The owner isnt too bad to look at, I guess. Hes also a nice person, but we all know the fact that hes moderately easy on the eyes is the important part. ;P I highly recommend just sitting on the couch and staring at him for the entire day. Do eet. Im assuming no one other than Tom will actually read my review. Hi Tom. But yeah, icono is great. 10/10. Plus kitties.

IconoCLAD is hands down the most amazing clothing store in SLC. They have completely unique and very interesting apparel as well as excellent classic styles, and all for totally reasonable prices. For the environmentally conscious, you can buy previously rocked clothing and know that youre making an impact by reusing/recycling. Take your own previously rocked threads there and get 50% of the sale price back in credit or cold hard cash. No other shop in SLC is offering anything close to that kind of kick-back. Its also owned locally, and youll notice the difference when you walk in. Feel great about buying local and supporting Salt Lake City. Check it out. You wont regret it.
