I had heard from some friends that this is the best place for donuts. I went inside as I wanted to see the donuts I was buying. There was a long line at the drive through and once I got inside I had the impression they do only drive through customers. The shelves that the donuts are on were mislabeled so when I asked for "blue berry" which is what the shelf said they said they did not have any, like I was stupid for asking. They were busy making boxes and using the front counter for their work. That meant 5 people at the counter on the employee side. I couldnt t see the donuts and kept moving and looking around the people in the way. The counter person helping kept prodding me for what next but I couldnt even see the donuts so I could make a choice! I wanted to pay cash but they said I must pay with a credit card! OK with that if they posted it which they did not. Places I dont do regular business I pay cash as I do not want my credit card info kicking around more then what is absolutely necessary. I was thinking what a hassle but if I can get a half decent donut then so be it. The donuts were the biggest disappointment of them all. Almost any donut from Dans, Reams, Dunkin Donuts, etc. are better then the junk I forced in my mouth. I paid for them so didnt want to throw away my money by just throwing the donuts away. Needless to say I will never go there again. Between the customer service and the poor quality of the donuts I couldnt have been more disappointed. Wondering if they went through management change as I had donuts from there about 1.5 years ago and they were entirely different than the garbage they are offering now.

They have the best blueberry donut Ive ever had, hands down. Their other donuts are pretty good, but not nearly as special as their blueberry. Now the PROBLEMS lie with the establishment, not the product. I have gone there probably 5 times since my first visit, every time asking for a single blueberry (every time in the morning around 9 or 10 am on my way to the U)... NEVER have any left. So finally i ask "when do i need to come to get one before they sell out" They said 7am at the latest... Its obviously a good product in high demand. WHY OH WHY would you make a very limited amount at 5am and two hours later when they were gone not make any more for the rest of the working day. Secondly, and this has been said before in other reviews, the staff looks and acts like overworked slave labor. When the girl helping me out the first time i went asked me what i wanted, i almost wanted to ask her if Id done something to offend her. In brief, its a dumpy lil shop, with dumpy mean people, that make one wonderful donut that is VERY difficult to come by. Ill happily make dunford and krispy kreams my prefered donuts :)

Sounds like the same experience as Jarin had a couple weeks ago. Went to Banbury today with a group of friends. No customers in the place when we arrived, and it was disgustingly filthy. Every table and chair covered with crumbs, and your feet crunched when you walked through the place. Stoned-looking teenager employee had his head laid down on the counter when we came in (and put his head back on the counter after we had paid but while there were still people coming and going). Napkin dispensers all empty, and when we asked for some not one word was said--just a haughty impatient look and the head back down on the counter. Outright rudeness with some of the customers who came in later. Said his name was Ca....n. I dont remember ever being to any retail business where Ive seen polite patrons so overtly insulted by the staff. Doughnuts were okay--not terrible, but not good either. Dry and a bit stale tasting. Ive been to Banbury many times in the past but its gone downhill badly. Ill never return, and Ill recommend anyone who asks to go somewhere else.

I really hate that I have to write this review but the owner needs to know whats going on. I LOVE these donuts-definitely the best in Utah. However, the last few times weve gone Ive found hair on the donuts (a long black one and one that looked like a dog hair). I ended up throwing away an entire dozen because I was so disgusted. Also, one of the gentlemen working there touched the cash register and then put his bare hands on the donuts he was putting in the display case. I dont think I can stomach going there again only to find hairs or imagine that someone put their dirty hands on the donuts. Also, customer service really needs to be addressed, I dont appreciate being treated rudely when I am spending money at your establishment. Sorry Banbury, it looks like Im breaking up with you for awhile :(

I like your donuts. I would eat them every day if it werent for the health concerns. Anyway, positive feedback is great but occasional negative/neutral feedback gives you more actionable information. So my criticism is about the giant cinnamon donuts. We get a couple dozen BB+ donuts every Friday and the giant wagon wheel sized cinnamon donut is always the last one to go. Often time it goes uneaten. I have tried to eat it and it creates a terrible mess. Its too large to get in my mouth without having cinnamon crumbles go everywhere. I had to stand over a trash can while I ate it. Perhaps other people like it and would revolt if it were excluded from the standard mixed dozen. But I say take it out unless specifically requested. Are you sure people like it? Thanks, Mike

It would be a crime to get donuts anywhere else in Salt Lake. This place has everything your favorite donut place requires: simple storefront, early morning hours, those nostalgic cardboard boxes, even a drive-through. Fast, friendly service. Forget all those fancy flavors that have popped up to try to trendify something thats already a good thing - these are classic, simple, fresh, sugary donuts. But lest you think they are boring or limited - they have tons of flavors so you can get whatever classic you used to secretly pick up with your favorite grandparent or aunt or uncle who promised they wouldnt tell your parents. Maple bars, rosettes, bismarks, Bavarian cream, cinnamon crumb, old-fashioned glazed. Blueberry is one of their secret fan favorites and always sells out early.

I just have to say how impressed I was with this establishment! My husband and I had just taken my son to Primary Childrens hospital and a good friend of mine had suggested we take our son, who loves donuts, to Banbury Cross. So for a pick me up, we headed there right after our appointment. As my husband went to pay, we had some problems with our credit card, which never happens but a gentleman that worked there came up and said for us just to take the donuts and come back and pay the IOU later. It was the kindest gesture and I didnt even get his name! Little did he know that we were trying to lift my sons spirits after a heart breaking diagnosis! To top it all off, the donuts were amazing!!!! Thank you for your kindness and for not just making my sons day but mine as well!!
